  1. A "ringer" is someone who is not eligible to play that looks like someone who is, i.e. cheating. IMO VP is only using it to get bait TT as using ringers is not what Whitletts, Troon, Maryhill etc al did. Can we get this thread back on topic please?
  2. ^^^ Interesting Stats however it assumes that the players and coaching staff live where they play.
  3. Yes. 3 up, 3 down. No Play-offs. Although presumably that will change if Clydebank or others head for the promised land.
  4. This was always going to be a problem for the clubs in the bottom tier.
  5. The SJFA get a share of the gate money too. 20% of the semi final gate, I believe.
  6. Given that you thought the design of the programme was disrespectful to Wishaw in the first place, I'm amazed you are interested. It went down like a lead balloon, but sold for 600% of the cover price. Oops!
  7. Nice to see someone commenting on the improvements at BP. We get a lot of negative comments by people who've never been there and just believe the nonsense written on here. Unfortunately try as we may, we haven't been able to fix the drainage issues, which obviously causes major problems. Also, glad you enjoyed your day. As for the game, it was always going to be difficult for Wishaw over two games to produce a shock, but they came close. I think they really needed to score first, but lesser teams would have crumbled after conceding and Wishy didn't, which shows a massive believe. In Dan Kindlan, you have a match winner and he should terrorise defences in your league. Your keeper is also very good and had some great stops. IMO the only thing that might stop you is the sheer volume of games. You've certainly the quality and team spirit. Good luck I genuinely hope you make it. Just hope we can pick up some points soon, otherwise we might be in the same league next season. Finally, can you and Jim B. please tip Talbot for the final or better still put a couple of bob on them. We might need all the help we can get [emoji12] [emoji12] [emoji12] [emoji12]
  8. Programme from today's second leg signed by the players and coaches of both teams being auctioned on eBay. https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hurlford-United-v-Wishaw-Scottish-Junior-Cup-S-F-2nd-leg-programme-signed-/142766150743?nav=SEARCH Proceeds will be shared between both clubs.
  9. Mate, the programme didn't cause any grief, just a couple of stupid comments about it from P&B keyboard warriors whose opinion means nothing. Wishaw's fans and committee who were at the game today were brand new and very complimentary after the match. We got all the players and coaches from both sides to sign three programmes. One is going to the raffle at a race night tonight for a youth team, and i shall be auctioning the other two on eBay. I have arranged with the wishaw secretary to send them 50% of the proceeds. We also sold first leg programmes at our merchandise table and passed the proceeds back to Wishaw. Does that sound like grief? Once more P and B proves that it is not a fair reflection of the clubs and their fans.
  10. Are you booked in anywhere before the game? There's a wee bar in the ground.
  11. No, they didn't. It was 5-1 [emoji102] [emoji102] [emoji102] [emoji102]
  12. Thanks for your feedback. Fortunately it hasn't put the online buyers off - selling quicker than expected [emoji12]
  13. It's clearly not offside, and given the fact the ball had ping ponged around the box, the lino had to be up with play - however as you say (thankfully for us) it was Pancake Tuesday last Saturday.
  14. Second Leg programmes available to pre-order (Will be dispatched as soon as collected from printers, so mint condition). https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/142759213306?ViewItem=&item=142759213306 Being sold on behalf of the club. Avoid disappoinment on the day or collect souvenir if you can't make it.
  15. ForzaWishy, At the post-match interviews the general opinion of the journalists who were at that end of the ground was that the lad want offside. That was the basis for my comments.
  16. I would guess about 500, but i didn't hear the official tally.
  17. Not a classic at The Beltane today. Wishaw started poorly, don't know if the occasion got to them, but they made it easy for Hurlford in the first half. Ford controlled the game and well deserved their lead thru Danny Mitchell. It could have been more, but the post and the home keeper Sandy Thompson kept them at bay. Second half was a different story. Wishaw started to play and press, with Dan Kindlan causing all sorts of problems on the right flank. They thought they had equalised, but it was incorrectly chopped off for offside. Ford had chances second half too, the best when Tiny Watt was foiled by another top save by Thomson. Wishaw probably thought they didn't deserve to lose and it's only half time, so on to Blair Park for the deciding leg. The banter in the bar after the game was good and Wishaw's hospitality in general was excellent. Hopefully we can reciprocate next week.
  18. BBC alba usually film the semi finals but (as far as I know) they only broadcast them in the build up to the final.
  19. As a fan of another semi-finalist, I can't hope you go on to win it, but I'm still delighted at your success so far. We visited the Beltane in the West a few season ago and the hospitality was first class - nice people and their efforts are now reaping rewards.
  20. Just a wee reminder on the international weekend of the Killie season ticket deal at Hurlford. For non-season ticketers its £6 (still a bargain). Pie and a bovril is £2.50 or a burger and onions for £1.80 and beer is £2 or £2.50. Cheap day out for less than a tenner or throw in couple of pre match drinks and one at HT and your still less than £20. Bar in the ground will be open by the time you read this. Playing Arthurlie today. KO 2pm. Last season's league two matches had ten goals (5:4 and 0:1) and two red cards.
  21. It actually started last season it just wasn't very well publicized. Spread the word please.
  22. Hi, Killie season ticket holders get in to Hurlford United West Premier League matches at Blair Park for £3 (on production of a 2017/18 season card); something to consider on international weekends or if you don't fancy the long trek to Dingwall. Bar in the ground open pre- and post-match and at HT. First home match is against Beith on Saturday, 19th August (more Fixture details on www.hurlfordunited.com).
