How do folk feel about Blaney? I still think all our CBs are much of a muchness but it probably makes sense to give him and Casey a run together in the last 5 given they'll presumably be here next season. He definitely "looks" like a footballer and having someone that can score screamers is always a plus.

It's probably the right decision but I can't really imagine us without Bevis.

A guy behind me hit out with "too late, Stuart" when Miller went off for Shaw which I imagine is a fairly niche opinion.

I don't think Halliday is going to do btw. He's obviously only played in fits and starts and might be better after a full pre-season but it seems unlikely at his age. Hopefully we can get shot of him.

I can see Bair in somewhere like Belgium or Holland. Partly just as North American players seem more likely to go to the continent than British ones but I'm also not convinced he'd do all that well in the Championship. Seems likely he'd end up with another nasty Steven MacLean type who just wants to shout and shells balls at his head.

I'm not that confident about our end of the bargain but if does sound very Hibs to miss out on top 6 because of Sam Nicholson, Andy Halliday or Blair Spittal

I assume the club will do more due diligence than this but my general impression is that most things generally work out pretty well for Motherwell Football Club for whatever reason. Does it seem likely that a rich benevolent American with B-list pals, forward thinking ideas and social media/streaming experience, loves European soccer and buys into the Well Society ethos so decides to chuck us some cash? Probably,aye.

I think the top flight and Championship formats are currently pretty good in terms of entertainment value but it feels like something could probably be done about Leagues 1 and 2. Not our problem and god willing it never will (so f**k the diddies) but from the outsides both leagues seem a bit stale with one team generally running away with it most years. Feels like that sort of level might be worth expanding to 18 or 20 teams. I generally quite like how often everybody plays each other in the top flight but I'm not sure if Annan necessarily have to play Cove four times a season.
