    Oh aye, he's been your best striker (player?) this season from what I've seen. I don't usually buy into the former players scoring against you theory but when there's f**king four of them it does feel a bit inevitable

    It seems to be working okay so far but I still have a bit of the fear about our makeshift midfield 3's lack of speed, strength or height. United dominated us their a lot on Friday and I'd expect O'Hara, Boyd Munce and Phillips to be difficult too. Adding in the KVV/Scott/Mandron dimension I'm not overly confident.

    I enjoyed these matches more back around 2017-2022ish, when both sides were physical but tried to play a bit of football too. Sadly since then St Mirren seem to have abandoned that for all out hammerthrowing.

    I quite liked it when they'd have the diddy semi-finals at Tynecastle or Easter Road etc but can appreciate it doesn't really make sense financially, I just enjoyed the novelty.

    Maybe just about the best draw I think? Celtic almost always raise their game for Rangers whereas I still think there's a slight chance Aberdeen manage to shock them. Rangers were in a better place in March when we beat them than they are now. Both of the above happening are massive longshots obviously- as us then beating Aberdeen in the final would be too.

    Aye I do think we will probably be fine at worst and might actually be quite good but still just wary that we've still only won twice in the league- against a shambolic Hearts and with a goal at the death against yous that probably shouldn't have stood. I realise how incredibly doom and gloom that sounds but I'd really like to build up a decent gap there before worrying about anything else.

    Sort of aye, there was still a lot of quality, given we finished 2nd, like Sutton, Hutchinson, Ainsworth etc but also genuine no-hopers like Cummins, Reid and the three goalies who all had no business being in the top flight at all. Just a really weirdly imbalanced team really, definitely worse than the United one on paper. I think we just dug out a lot of narrow victories, usually late on.

    I was in Zante when we went 3-1 up at Pittodrie and conspired to draw 3-3. A few days before Ibroxgate. Now that I think about I'm not sure either game is really canon.

    Aye this is basically my, vibes based, reasoning (and also that as good as Aberdeen look right now it's rare for anybody outwith the OF to win 8 domestic games in a row or whatever they're up to currently.) All our recent managers seemed to have statement wins against Aberdeen so it just sort of feels like Kettlewell is due his.

    I think we'll beat Aberdeen for some reason. But then I also think we'll beat United in the cup the week after- but I don't think we'll win 5 in a row? Something has to give.
