  1. Wee tip for the new boy. We see it a lot with opposition managers who know hee haw about the club whose 1st thought is to refer to us as "Raith". Naebody in kdy, kinghorn, bisland, cardenden, glenrothes who support/know the club call us Raith. Anyone local who has an association with the club knows were the "Rovers". If GL learns/understands this then he'll do ok & we'll finish mid table & above the pars which = success/happy days for us. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt if we murder the gypos along the road 4 times this season.
  2. It looks that way already neebs - rarely ever more than a third full.
  3. Majority of the sons fans raving about the Railway Stand. I'd be interested to know what the cost difference was v. making the south section habitable as well? We could have given it all over to Rangers (+Hearts & Hibs to if they needed it as well to satisfy demand?) this season then re-posessed it for home fans next season. Having it ALL full for potentially 6 games would have offset the total cost to redevelop it all. Increasing the match day experience (which has been woeful of late) for standard run of the mill 1st div games is one way of attracting more paying punters. Having punters on all sides of the ground + bringing 2 sets of fans closer together increases atmosphere/ match day experience. A significant number of home fans would welcome the opportunity to move back in there.
  4. McGurn is challenger for a slot in the top 5 Rovs ever alongside (in no particular order) Brewster, James, Baxter, McDermott & McNaught. Ok, possibly a slight exaggeration but defo our best player in at least the last decade/15 years. Press release says he'll be back playing in July = great Friday news. McGlynn's decision to drop him for floppy gloves during the 2010/2011 season run in ruined the aforementioned manager's otherwise flawless record - WTF was he thinking?
  5. I've watched all the other teams in this league at some point this season and there is no way the rovs are in the bottom 3. The last two away games have been against the top 2 in the league & although I wasn't at the Accies game (where we got beat by the last kick off the ball), against Dundee they more than held their own - they might even have won if they hadn't shat themselves in the last minute and actually thrown the corner into the box and battled for it rather than try and play keep ball in the corner and then promptly f**k it up. This all tells me that we are underperforming - especially at home where we are shelling goals for (no)fun. I don't think putting a newbie 5'5" goalie in has helped. He has no prescence - he's too much of a short arse for a keeper & most of the games we have lost heavily have happened since he was parachuted into the sticks. Laidlaw was dropped after we hadn't SCORED in 6 league games - no exactly the keepers fault?? The problem now is everytime the opposition are in our last 3rd were quivering wrecks & having dwarfie in the sticks who is averaging -3.5goals a game ain't helping. We need to get a fuckin grip, roll up our sleeves and start defending from the front & work harder. I've got tickets for 8 of my family for the final - I better see blood & snotters in spades or the easy season ticket renewal cash the club has had over the last 10 years is gonnae come to an abrupt halt. Getting a humiliating 6 or 7 nil humping a week come sunday aint gonnae be good. grumpy
  6. Why don't all who missed out on ramsden final rovs tickets not just join The The The(?) Rangers public sale? There was less than 19K turned up for their last live (HOME) televised cup tie v. pars so they don't appear to have an appetite for cups of the diddy variety? Its just as welll they didn't take the ramsdens to a bigger venue - eh Sally? Wonder how many will turn up for Albion Rovs game?
  7. Smudger deserves a decent deal too. Great servant to the club as player and now coach under two managers. He's provided the continuity on the management side during the handover from McGlynn and given his own experience as the main man at the why aye man rangers must be an ideal sounding board for Murray. No forgetting Laurie... I've got hee haw to moan about, I've no felt so +ve about the Rovs since 1/2 time in Munchen.
  8. Last two games roscoe has been 1st class. Don't know what length of contract he is on, but if he keeps progressing as he currently is he's going to be a top keeper so we should tie him up for a possible big future transfer fee?
  9. Trying to work out this quote/multi quote gubbins...
  10. If the two young lads have burnt murray's fingers, Hill and Walker must have burnt his baws this season.
  11. One of the most disapointing aspects of murray's reign is his lack of support for the guys from the youth scheme. Donaldson got loads more game time under mcglynn. The young centre half who played in the 1st game at east end was made a scapegoat and moved on soon after when in fact murray should have shown some leadership and played himself from the start. We were near the top of the league at the time of that game and the season has gone downhill big time since then - very poor judgement. Mcgurn has been a great servant to the club but Laidlaw must be worth another start sometime soon.
  12. Part-time is a stick on if we want to survive. I'd also go down an Athletic Bilbao model of only signing/playing fife based players for two reasons: cut costs & reconnect with the fan base.
