I think Love has been alright, for a rookie(ie first start). Issues are clearly that he hasn’t practiced with the top talent regularly to get properly up to speed.

If we were playing a jobber team I’d expect us to sneak a win but you do have to realise, even though they have been honking, than KC have reached the last two super bowls for a reason.

Big season of transition next year though with Rodgers and Adams inevitably leaving and Crosby being done.

If we could also sort out special teams that might save my tv from having a beer bottle thrown at it.

I would like to revise this.

  3. I was playing Metro Exodus over the weekend - sunk a good 9-10 hours into it and was getting to the stage where I was really getting into it but thinking of chucking it to head to my kip when I get the famous CE-34878-0 error.

Tried the back up save file to see if I could rescue it but it was gone and I was absolutely fuming - tried the old system update in case that was the issue but no joy.

Don't really want to go back into it for it to crash again so going to chuck it which is disappointing.

  4. What’s the actual point in video replay if cheap hits like that don’t get the flags they deserve?

This weekend has been absolute baws sporting wise - that just sums up the shambolic refereeing I’ve witnessed over the last day.

  5. We’ve absolutely pumped the 9ers yet are only 3 ahead.

That intentional grounding fuckup by the refs will cost us(and the fact we went for it on 4th down rather than take 3)

What does selling tickets in the past have to do with your inconvenient way to sell to away fans , club has moved on with technology that makes it easier for fans to purchase tickets , but I you prefer to live in the past jig in

We have chosen to provide clubs with physical tickets in plenty of time to sell.

Supporters are complaining they can’t get their ticket, 8 days from the match, because they live in another area. This is because Ayr aren’t catering to their need by advertising this publicly(because you ‘have to ask’).

There could be a number of reasons why we have chosen to do this(provide physical tickets) but Greenock Morton and Kilmarnock didn’t have an issue with with selling them to supporters without many issues.

So we didn't say we would bring 400 then ? And I know for a fact we recently had over 1000 at Firhill .

We supplied Ayr United 400 initial tickets based on the numbers they said they would bring to Firhill.

We did the same when Morton said they’d bring 500(they got 500 tickets in the first allocation) and we supplied Kilmarnock with 1,000 tickets when that was the number they requested to begin with.

We have already had a number of sales over the phone , we are posting out with a registered post cost ,  don’t get your point about Ayr selling tickets , we have been selling tickets online for 3 years which 75/80 %  of our non season ticket holders including away fans  take advantage of , that’s customer friendly , Thistle making fans go to grounds to get tickets is a bit in the past now

Sorry, I meant how did Ayr deal with selling physical tickets in the past, rather than all ticket sales. I wasn’t very clear there.

Think we are seeing an example here of someone who absolutely refuses to accept that their club could be deserving of any criticism from others.  It's usually reserved for OF fans but it does exist accross the board.

Not at all. There is plenty to criticise us for and deservedly so but having made the decision to give away teams physical tickets, for a variety of reasons, then we can’t really be slated for Ayr’s inability to post them to Edinburgh, Dundee or Annan with eight days to go to the fixture.

Suggest you scroll back.  There was a Killie fan on earlier saying how inconvenient the system was with tickets having to be handed out to their fans outside the ground by a club official.  Face facts.  This is tinpot stuff from Partick.

I have scrolled back and seen the example you reference - that was a supporter who wanted to purchase last minute having had plenty of time to get their ticket in advance, the same opportunity that Ayr United fans have.

Kilmarnock and Greenock Morton both offered the option for tickets to be posted to supporters, something Ayr United haven’t offered, that I can see - a bit tinpot.

How can we not cater to needs ? We are doing exactly as Morton and Kilmarnock done

Greenock Morton and Kilmarnock posted tickets to supporters AFAIK. Ayr United are asking people to come to their car park to purchase - zero advertisement, that I can see, of telephone sales or sales for postage - happy to be corrected if this isn’t the case.

I know everyone is jumping on the ‘all tickets should be online’ which is a completely valid point but this concept shouldn’t be alien to Ayr United from the last few seasons and they just seem incapable of doing it in a flexible fashion to their own support - how did they sell tickets for games previously?

  11. 30 minutes ago, Finlay21 said:

Utter nonsense , we can sell up to 2000 tickets , the first drop was 400  and they will deliver more when required , Partick are the issue here , they have same online ticket system as us but chose not to make tickets available online for away fans next week , think any queries should be directed to them

We supplied tickets to Greenock Morton and Kilmarnock in the exact same time frame and they managed to professionally handle it and sell to their own supporters. The issue here is the inflexibility of Ayr United to cater to the needs of their own support.

Is that tweet from VoR suggesting that Thistle are saying its Ayrs choice to only sell tickets that way?  Doesn't seem likely if Killie had to do the same.

Or maybe I'm just reading it wrong and they can't be arsed giving a reason 🤣

    Screenshot_20210924-104121_Twitter.jpg

Killie AFAIK posted tickets out to their supporters. Doesn't seem like Ayr United are offering the same postage facility to their own supporters.

Don’t know if we are getting more tickets or if that’s all the section we are in can hold , hopefully Partick can clear that up , you would think there must be another way to get tickets , surprised at them selling tickets like this as they have an online ticket sales system

Ayr will get as many tickets as they request up to the capacity of the stand(around 2,000). They were asked how many tickets they want and informed Thistle they would only bring 400 fans to Firhill so got 400 tickets to start with the option for more when required.

Also worth mentioning that the social club at Firhill is getting used by the players to change so won’t be able to get in there. No idea if there is any decent pubs near the ground that will let Away fans in.

That's not true. The Aitken Suite is open within the Colin Weir Stand before and after each game. Ayr will be changing elsewhere within the Colin Weir Stand.

I didn’t mind Cole, I certainly didn’t dislike him in the way that I disliked Spittal or Storey, but he’s a total shitebag prone to going missing in games when they get tough. Also, with basically nothing to back this up, I always suspected that he was one of the guys McCall was talking about when he spoke about the lack of professionalism at the club on his arrival.

Turner’s a clearly superior player in any case.

    He wasn’t.

While Reece was clearly lacking in some areas surrounding application during the 90 minutes in his time with us, I can’t say he was unprofessional in what I’ve seen. The players who left that January/End of season may give more of an indication to that.

Reece was due to return to Brentford on 1st Jan but McCall made the decision to extend his deal(as he also tried to with Kakay but QPR had made their mind up they wanted him back for a month and he started to break into the team).

Here is the link to the page on the Thistle website. Unfortunately, as of right now, they dont have the upcoming QoS match on it, they only have our last 3 games showing.

Anyone got their email about their seat on Saturday? Website says to wait until 10am Saturday before contacting them if you don't receive one but I don't fancy cutting it that fine.

Emails have been sent out for ST holders who will be sitting in sections JH1-5 & JH8. I reckon all remaining emails will be sent out by around 2pm tomorrow.

I'd be very surprised if he went anywhere other than Kelty Hearts.

I didn't know people could get access to games outside uk/ireland on streaming, always thought that was scrapped after we got relegated from premier league so good to know it will continue on after this season ends for people. Also good to know that streaming will continue for this season, will be good for anyone unsure or the older generation who may be at risk to be able to still see games.

It was scrapped after relegation from the Premiership. At that point we didn’t have the infrastructure or expertise in place to do it in-house. I think we were looking at almost five figures a game to do the same coverage of Premiership with around 100 people subscribing/purchasing.

Last year, like all clubs, we had to adapt with the pandemic. Again we didn’t have the infrastructure or expertise to do it in-house so we went down the QTV/Stream Digital route because it had to work and it had to deliver what it needed to. Was it perfect? No, but it was head and shoulders above the Pixellot shite and we got into it gradually. There will always be personal taste with commentators/analysts etc but everyone who wanted to could watch the game(barring the Falkirk pre-game issue).

We’ve spent the summer investing in infrastructure to do it in-house and learning how is to do it with assistance from a technical partner because we have the season to stream through the UK/Ireland. If restrictions go backwards, it is capable of handling what we need to and if they free up as expected then it is cost effective for us to deliver with more people in Firhill.

It’ll continue to be monitored and if the numbers stack up then it could be utilised after this season. You may have noticed that part of the purchase asks you to declare a home/away team - it’s pretty basic but gives us a chance to look at the numbers and see how it stacks up plus an analytic overview of where people are viewing - Bermuda is popular with Thistle fans for example!

Does season ticket cover you for streams (for league games), I know it did last year but at £12 a stream that suggests maybe not?

As it stands, we can accommodate all season ticket holders inside Firhill. If restrictions mean that we can only host, for example, 1,000 people and we have 2,000 ST’s then the people who can’t attend in person will get access to the stream for that game.

Where did you see that being confirmed?

It was confirmed by the SPFL in April that all SPFL clubs who don’t have a game televised live on tv(whether that is Sky or BBC) can show it on PPV worldwide - https://spfl.co.uk/news/press-release-47629

I expect this will be changed back to the way it was previously at the end of this season(ie only outside uk and Ireland to PPV).
