  1. I don't know how interested any of you are with stats sites like Modern Fitba, but one your youngsters has been highlighted in their "best young midfielders" analysis, based around goalscoring. John Smith is his name. Can't think I've ever seen him mentioned before.
  2. Obvious free agents are Abdul Osman, Prince Buaben and Jim O'Brien. They all scream of "couldn't get main target, fall back on experienced obvious option" though. A wildcard would be Diego Poyet, who seems to be a free agent and apparently been km trial at another Scottish club, I've forgotten who though, although he seems out the budget. Am I allowed to suggest this is the type of position we should be paying a fee for? Spend £100k on the perfect player in his mid-20s seems to make a lot of sense, and deep playmakers generally don't cost as much as game changing attackers.
  3. We're just passing the time, St Mirren fans should really hold the "weirdest poster" chat until after their match thread with Dundee gets filled with photos of cats and Morrisey..
  4. We're a different beast this season. You might even enjoy games against us
  5. So, I take it we're winning the league now we've sorted the attack?
  6. Worth making the point he played in one game against Dundee last season.
  7. You're viewing it from the perspective of an Aberdeen fan watching your most promising player.
  8. It wasn't bad luck. Vokes held McKenna off, McKenna strained for a header he was never winning, and that allowed Vokes to react to the ball while McKenna was still recovering from his error.
  9. It was how I saw the game, you were fairly comfortable until Vokes came on and started winning everything.
  10. Nah, Vokes won literally everything, and held McKenna off embarrassingly easily for the goal. He's a long way to go yet.
  11. He's completely different now. He used to make constant runs in behind with us, but a serious knee injury seemed to f**k his pace. He's adapted to be more of a target man, and seems a better player for it.
  12. Vokes bullied Aberdeens defence, especially McKenna who got moved from left to right centre half after he'd scored. I suspect you'll see him start in the second leg and that'll cause you huge issues. Aberdeens issue is they need a goal, so will have to open up a bit more than they'd have liked.
  13. Should be working anyway Tam, those big issues dont sell themselves.
  14. We used to get volunteers from the media course at Perth College to do it, to help them build a CV and get experience. Not sure why that stopped, maybe not enough of them have an interest in Saints. Seemed like a perfect situation though.
  15. Of course they look for a volunteer to do it, it's not exactly a secret the backroom staff is run on as tight a budget as possible. It's something Saints fans have moaned about for a long time, and I'd hope it would change soon, as we seem to manage to put up interviews and the likes fairly easily.
  16. I see. I suspect we'll see a post from you along the lines of "Championship is a far more exciting league anyway/rather be involved in a title race than dossing about the bottom half" when you're ten points adrift by Christmas. It starts two weeks earlier than it used to, and this is the third season of it starting on this date. You should maybe look closer at home when you're mewing about how you've no squad, and haven't played any friendlies, before it started, as even part time sides managed to get multiple games in beforehand.
  17. Tbf while Craig and Spoony isn't ideal for over the course of a season, if it gives McCann a proper chance with us, it might be a blessing. Obviously not ideal before folk start ranting at me, but at least we have a promising player who can develop there. It's a shame McCann hasn't been fit enough to play some Betfred games, tbh, as it would've helped everyone get a better grasp of what level he's at.
  18. I'd be astounded if we don't sign some form of central player. TWs made it clear all summer he wants one, and I doubt the performances of Wotherspoon and Alston beside Davidson will have changed that. Alston didn't even last a half in that role against Montrose before being taken out there. Just my opinion on it though, hopefully TW will say something over the weekend about his plans.
  19. I seen they've advertised for a volunteer to create highlights for the Woman's team, but nothing about the Men's team.
  20. Had guessed players maybe get some control over their moves, but that's maybe hopelessly naive. Suppose theres Chelsea players who get punted over to random Dutch clubs every six months, doubt that would be up to them.
