  1. We've been totally dominant without creating very much - although Tiffoney absolutely should have scored his early chance, and a more favourable bounce would have given Smith a tap in. The keeper (Brynn?) has done well dealing with the crosses though. Not sure why Queens are sitting off us quite so much.
  2. Fairly surprised we’re not giving any of our fringe attacking players a game, but fine.
  3. December 2069 That's a better month, by which I mean I actually managed to pick up a point in the league. We were quite lucky to get it though, but at the same time we should have scraped a draw against Ararat-Armenia, so all evens out. I also pulled out a remarkable win in the cup over Armenia's biggest side, although I'm certain they'll be absolutely furious about it. We've got Pyunik next, who'll no doubt thump us, but it was still nice. I would really quite like this season to be over. The one saving grace is that Urartu have shown absolutely no sign of improving. Their only point remains against me, which is annoying, but still pleasing that they're even more pish than we are.
  4. November 2069 A shite month. We're not good enough for this division, even if we did ok against table toppers Shirak. Urartu are having an absolute Brechin of a season, which is helpful. Up next we're playing Noah, the only side we've beaten in the league this season.
  5. No, it's a very strange system - basically everyone plays each other twice, and then it splits into top six and bottom four. The top six play each other twice again to get 28 games in total, while the bottom four play each other once more to get 21 in total. Bottom side goes down automatically.
  6. October 2069 Through in the cup comfortably, and took an absolute pumping from Pyunik. These things happen. That Urartu game though. We were well on top, and then they scored this goal. This fucking goal. Legitimately furious. After that happened we fell out of the game a bit, and they possibly should have won, but the draw was ok in the end. Almost at the half way stage, and we've got five points. 11 points tends to be enough to stay up, so we're doing ok.
  7. September 2069 Alashkert were significantly better than us, so very pleased to escape that without major damage to our goal difference. We then came from 2-0 and 3-2 down against Lori, and rescued a point late on which was great. Donatas Paskevicius got a couple of goals too, which is always nice as I wasn't sure if he'd handle the step up. Aye, that's not too bad so far, given the gulf in quality between us and the other teams.
  8. August 2069 A tough start. We did manage to get a win, against those arseholes at Noah, so that was pleasing, but aye. It'll be a long season if this keeps up. Hopefully Noah just lose every game this season and we'll be fine.
  9. Transfers 2069 Not much in the way of outgoings, Melikyan didn't really work out when I brought him in last season, and Aslanyan was a fringe player so not much loss there. And here's the guys I've brought in to try and keep us in the top flight. Alexandr Ignatjev is a left back who joins having spent the last few seasons playing semi regularly in the top flight, so brings some experience of that. A defensively solid player, would expect him to do a decent job. As always with full backs at this level, he'll provide nothing going forward but I'll accept that on the basis that I expect us to be on the back foot in the vat majority of games this season. Erik Adamyan joins to play central midfield. He had an ok season with my promotion rivals FC Van last year, and has a bit of experience in the top flight which is good too. He's a good passer, and I think he should be a good player in terms of be able to create chances. I'll need someone more defensive minded to sit next to him, but I think he's a decent player. Rokas Lukosiunas joins my Lithuanian contingent, as my new number one goalkeeper. His distribution is absolute dogshite, but he should be a fairly reliable keeper. Garnik Khachatryan was here last season before he got recalled, and has now joined on a permanent basis. He's a ball winning midfielder, not much else but he can also cover at right back which is helpful. Will sit him next to Adamyan, and see how that goes. Danijel Omic is the pick of the bunch for me, a really decent looking centre half and only 21 years old so will (or should) get better. All the basics covered, a strong player and works hard. The main worry is that his aggression being so high means he's liable for a few red cards, but we'll see how it goes. Khachatur Mkrtchyan was my final signing, and he's an attacking midfielder. He looks promising and only 17. I'll be honest, I signed him and had wanted to loan him out but no one would take him, so he's here on the fringes of the first team. I'll be honest, I think my team's better than it was last season certainly, but probably not quite good enough to do anything in this division. We'll see how it goes.
  10. You’d need to give them benefits, what with the well thought out ‘don’t let them have jobs’ policy.
  11. O’Donnell has proven in several big games that he can be relied upon defensively. Patterson looked pretty naive defensively against Moldova. And as for being targeted by the opposition, of course he is. The other side of the pitch has Andy Robertson on it. Are they going to see Nathan Patterson and think that’s not the weak point now?
  12. Or, you could just not give the state the power to murder its own people whenever it fancies it?
  13. In an Egyptian or African context, Al-Ahly are obviously a massive club so I don’t know what point you’re making. Newcastle, however, are not a particularly big club in an English context. I’m just wondering what makes them think otherwise, and as alluded to above it’s probably that they get some decent crowds and that overweight middle aged Newcastle fans take their tops off at away games.
  14. Does anyone know why it is that Newcastle fans seem to think they’re a big club? As far as I can tell, other than a spell of nearly achieving things in the mid 90’s, they’ve been pretty much universally shite since WW2.
  15. No, I’m just wondering how him not reoffending fits in with the whole “rotten and unsaveable” thing.
  16. Fair enough, I think that’s fucking mental but up to you. Out of interest, how do you explain Robert Thomson having (as far as I know) avoided reoffending since his release?
  17. Just for clarity, you’re calling for whole life tarriffs for 10 year olds?
  18. Yes, being relegated twice from the top flight in the past 30 years, and winning the second tier at the first time of asking both times, must have been unbearable for them. Truly makes you thankful for what you have.
  19. Are they? They’ve almost always finished 3rd or 4th in qualifying groups since joining UEFA, and they’re sitting there just now. It seems fairly par for the course for them.
  20. He plays a different position to them. And Dykes is a good player for Scotland. McBurnie isn’t, but he was a regular in the Barclays at the time, so worth a try.
