  2. You mean it wasn't that bad apart from being complete shite aimed at simpletons throughout, yeah?
  3. With everyone fit from last season, I'd have said our best central defensive partnership was probably Seaborne and Frans. We still have both of them. If you take Lindsay as being good enough for 3rd choice (which he is, IMO) then I don't think we're particularly weaker in central defence. We've lost Taylor, but that was always likely to happen and we're yet to see who will replace him with 2 weeks or so left until the start of the season, so it's still very possible that we could have a central attack that is on par with what we had last season. If you add in that we've improved our keeper, Gary Miller looks to be signing, who while not as good as SOD was is still very much competent at this level, and we've also brought in Amoo who looks to be a good player and Welsh coming back (hopefully) strengthens our midfield options then I don't really think we're particularly weaker than at the end of last season at all. Of our best performing players from last season IMO, only SOD has left and it seems we're getting as good a replacement as you could realistically hope for. Still 2 weeks to go but if we can get a couple of players in then we should be set for a decent season.
  4. You're correct, a quick google suggests Leyden started off as a striker but no appears to play mainly in central midfield. Also went on loan to East Fife which I had totally missed so I guess he'll have played some senior football before which is more than I thought. Duggan is a worry as well, he seems to get injured almost as much as Sean Welsh does. I would have thought this season will be his last chance to prove he has what it takes for us.
  5. I'll be absolutely amazed if we don't sign Miller, given he's quite obviously good enough for the league and I would hope that Archie is already in talks with him. That would leave a striker being the main priority, as a good but unspectacular Doolan, a completely untested at this level Leyden and an out of position Stevenson simply isn't good enough. That plus a couple of squad players (basically cover for full backs or attacking midfield) and we'd be more or less set.
  6. Are you not the boy who believed the Kenny Miller story not long ago?
  7. Oh well. Would have been very good to have him back but not the end of the world. Surely we'll have other options lined up.
  8. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/589713/Leeds-Sheffield-United-Billy-Sharp-Transfer-News-Gossip She fronting the half a million aye?
  9. http://ptfc.co.uk/news/2015-2016/july_2015/jags_strengthen_board_wih_jacqui_low_appointment Some birds been added to the board. Hopefully not as much of a dick as Beattie.
  10. Nope. Mo Johnson played for thistle and both of the old firm off the top of my head.
  11. I'd take him. Probably due to him being a childhood hero rather than anything he could offer now, but still.
  12. From the admittedly few times I've seen him play, he's looked fucking shite.
  13. So by my reckoning that'd be a forward four of: Amoo - Stevenson - Lawless Doolan That really doesn't look too bad, and if we can get Taylor signed it'll be even better, with him in place of Doolan. If we can get him, a right back (is this wickham boy signing/a right back?) and a wee bit of depth in place we could have a really solid team this year.
  14. Precisely why they were brought in on trial rather than just being signed. The ones who Archie is sure are good enough just get signed, those he's not sure of come in on trial. It's not a difficult concept.
  15. Well you've worked yourself into a state over f**k all. We've made two signings already - Booth and Cerny. Both will be good additions to our squad. What's the problem with using youngsters for cover? If they're good enough then why does it matter? And what exactly is the problem with taking a player on trial before signing them? Isn't it better that the management and coaching staff see him in person at training and in friendlies to get as in depth a look as possible before signing them?
  16. Was the jester kit the season we got relegated to the second division or the season we were actually in the second division? I remember it being a fairly grim one anyway, even if I was only about 10.
  17. Could be Joma's take on the jester kit? Couldn't possibly be worse than the original.
  18. Not a shock at all. Was on their books as a youth and one look at his Twitter suggests he's a massive bluenose.
