  1. So, being sacked for committing gross misconduct is getting "stabbed in the back"? Cool.
  2. If we were to go with the lineup nizzy has posted, then I'd imagine that one of Muirhead/Stevenson/Lawless would naturally sit deeper than Doolan/Pogba and could themselves act as the link. Also think that sooner or later we'll need to give Gary Fraser game time, he's got the best range of passing at the club IMO and also the only centre midfielder who consistently looks to get it forward quickly. He has his shortcomings obviously, and he really needs to stop shooting from 40+ yards every single game he plays, but I think he's worth a shot. Nevertheless, 3-5-2 or even a kind of 3-5-1-1 must be worth a go, since what we're doing at the moment clearly isn't working. I've not been to many games this season, but I haven't seen us create a proper chance yet which is absolutely depressing in the extreme.
  3. The juniors, except he was clearly too good for that level so took a step up. Yes, that's true, bigger clubs do take players from Thistle except that from my club, the bigger clubs don't include the likes of Ayr United or Forfar.
  4. Bigger club in taking best players from smaller joke club shocker.
  5. I'd rather bring back henoc Mukendi. At least it was slightly funny how shite he was.
  6. Bring back John Baird, at least his scoring record wasn't horribly skewed by scoring goals against teams.
  7. If you exclude the ones who are clearly better than him, then yeah I suppose he would.
  8. I'm pretty sure that McLaughlin boy who played against Motherwell was the first one who'd been involved with Thistle Weir to get a game for the actual team. Guys like Leyden etc weren't involved in Thistle Weir AFAIK
  9. https://mobile.twitter.com/ThistleTweet/status/623047984033497088/photo/1 First teaser of the new away kit out on twitter.
  10. You mean it wasn't that bad apart from being complete shite aimed at simpletons throughout, yeah?
  11. With everyone fit from last season, I'd have said our best central defensive partnership was probably Seaborne and Frans. We still have both of them. If you take Lindsay as being good enough for 3rd choice (which he is, IMO) then I don't think we're particularly weaker in central defence. We've lost Taylor, but that was always likely to happen and we're yet to see who will replace him with 2 weeks or so left until the start of the season, so it's still very possible that we could have a central attack that is on par with what we had last season. If you add in that we've improved our keeper, Gary Miller looks to be signing, who while not as good as SOD was is still very much competent at this level, and we've also brought in Amoo who looks to be a good player and Welsh coming back (hopefully) strengthens our midfield options then I don't really think we're particularly weaker than at the end of last season at all. Of our best performing players from last season IMO, only SOD has left and it seems we're getting as good a replacement as you could realistically hope for. Still 2 weeks to go but if we can get a couple of players in then we should be set for a decent season.
  12. You're correct, a quick google suggests Leyden started off as a striker but no appears to play mainly in central midfield. Also went on loan to East Fife which I had totally missed so I guess he'll have played some senior football before which is more than I thought. Duggan is a worry as well, he seems to get injured almost as much as Sean Welsh does. I would have thought this season will be his last chance to prove he has what it takes for us.
  13. I'll be absolutely amazed if we don't sign Miller, given he's quite obviously good enough for the league and I would hope that Archie is already in talks with him. That would leave a striker being the main priority, as a good but unspectacular Doolan, a completely untested at this level Leyden and an out of position Stevenson simply isn't good enough. That plus a couple of squad players (basically cover for full backs or attacking midfield) and we'd be more or less set.
  14. Are you not the boy who believed the Kenny Miller story not long ago?
  15. Oh well. Would have been very good to have him back but not the end of the world. Surely we'll have other options lined up.
  16. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/589713/Leeds-Sheffield-United-Billy-Sharp-Transfer-News-Gossip She fronting the half a million aye?
  17. http://ptfc.co.uk/news/2015-2016/july_2015/jags_strengthen_board_wih_jacqui_low_appointment Some birds been added to the board. Hopefully not as much of a dick as Beattie.
  18. Nope. Mo Johnson played for thistle and both of the old firm off the top of my head.
  19. I'd take him. Probably due to him being a childhood hero rather than anything he could offer now, but still.
  20. From the admittedly few times I've seen him play, he's looked fucking shite.
