  1. Nah Rab Reilly alluded to it but would you trust him? But even RR says Snoddy asked for an extra £100 which equates to a 33% rise which for a young player is huge. some our fans would have you believe we pulled out of signing Scotland star Robert Snodgrass over a lousy £75
  2. Top level rugby players absolutely despise the 4g pitches though. There was outcry when Glasgow city Council wanted to install them at Scotstoun. Interestingly though Warriors ended up using Rugby Park after the pitches at Scotstoun were flooded so they may not have an issue with them anymore.
  3. The cost sharing aspect is a huge plus, not just on the initial build but on going repairs to Somerset must be killing us. It would make sense to groundshare but if it does happen if like to see a separate company set up to build/run the stadium with a 50/50 split between both clubs so that we can’t be forced out etc otherwise we’d risk being another Coventry.
  4. As much as I’d prefer us to stay at Somerset, a move like this would be preferable than to the land at Heathfield. That being said there are a few issues and questions.... 1. The rugby club are loaded and simply don’t need us to be involved so I’d presume we’d simply be their tenants which I do not like one bit. 2. The existing land at Milbrae is not zoned for residential, it’s only for leisure use afaik so not sure what they will do with it. * I would think if it is going ahead it’s more likely we’d use it as a training base. *edited to add that either I am wrong about the zoning or something has changed since the rugby club moving was discussed in the early 2000 as it seems they are in advanced discussion with Cala Homes.
  5. Wow that is an eye opener. Didn’t realise it was so low before.
  6. Aw man can somebody just put this bawbag down? Dont think I can handle another preseason of YouTube clips of players from the Irish Farmers League. How does he keep up with the multiple usernames and personalities.
  7. Harsh, both Balatoni and Meggat were decent. We were just so poor as a team that year that they got ripped apart. I reckon 1994 Paolo Maldini and Franco Baresi would’ve looked shit had they been in the Ayr team that season.
  8. I don’t see any issue with moving to a cashless entry system to be honest. Got to virtually any major event and you’ll need to buy a ticket in advance, there aren’t many that accept cash on the door now. All the major gig venues now offer e-ticketing, yes some of our older supporters may need to arrive a wee bit earlier to buy a ticket from the shop but it’s a small sacrifice. I’d imagine the time taken to count gate receipts, the hassle of taking cash to the bank plus the security of holding it until Monday and the risk of theft from the turnstile operation all add up. Not to mention bank charges for depositing cash. i would be interested to know what the deal is with the ticketing company, how much of a cut they take, I’d presume it’s a small % of each transaction.
  9. No idea who that is. just know Shankland has already said that playing time is the most important factor for him when picking his next destination and there’s no way he’d be first pick at Ibrox.
  10. I’d def be keeping Moff, Bell, Geggan and Kerr but would be heavily weighing the last 2’s contracts on appearances. Whilst Bell is unspectacular he is dependable and versatile. Geggan is also versatile, able to play in midfield or right back. I expect David Ferguson will return and claim the RB spot so Geggan is a useful backup. What all 4 of those guys give us is experience and will be good to have around the club.
  11. This way my thought. He was lucky to get away with that tackle. was clearly pissed off that he gave the ball away so easily.
  12. They’ll end up ground sharing with Oxford or someone like that.
  13. Pretty sure both the EU and the UK government have already said that existing EU citizens won’t need a work permit in the UK and UK citizen who live/work in Europe will be the same. in fact if anything this is the best time to sign some Europeans, before any restrictions come in to play!
  14. Why? I seriously doubt there is gonna be a nazi style mass round up of non uk citizens after Brexit.
  15. More info here https://simonboehme.wordpress.com/to-kick-things-off/
  16. Shame he didn’t make a better contact. Not that it could’ve made Morelos any fucking uglier though.
  17. Back in your box. Nobody mentioned Alloa. Pretty sure Ayrmad was implying Jim Goodwin will be at Dundee United next year .
  18. Pretty sure he’s also a consultant at Dunfermline now as well.
