  1. I wouldn’t say he was outstanding last night. Last week yes but certainly not last night. Granted he did well down the left to get some balls across and scored a tap in but I wouldn’t put any of our players in the outstanding category after that first half shitshow. For an attacking midfielder he hasn’t scored enough this season and to be honest his final ball isn’t always very good.
  2. You can add mcdaid to that list. I remember when he first signed he would shoot continuously, now he seems content trying to turn his man inside out then passing.
  3. Queue The Rangers offering us 6 glass ginger bottles and a 10p mix-up to secure his signature.
  4. Bruce Anderson is out injured until March so I wouldn’t be getting too excited about this if I was you.
  5. That’s interesting as Bruce Anderson is out injured until March. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/football/46711254
  6. I disagree. I actually thought it was a well thought out move. We all know the huge morale boost of having Shankland leading the line. At that point we were being heavily pegged back. As soon as Shankers came on there was a huge boost across the team and we started to look dangerous again. He gave us an outball to allow us to hold on, something we didn’t have with Moore. He was a bit off his usual pace though but the run out will have worked wonders.
  7. And anyway for all you know perhaps he was told he was free to go if you could find another club.
  8. Was entitled to speak to other clubs since 1st Jan since his contract was due to expire in the summer but don’t let that retract from your half-witted attempt of a conspiracy.
  9. I’m sure he’ll have spoken to Jack Grimmer too before signing for them, two of them would’ve come through at Aberdeen together.
  10. I’m not exclusively blaming Higgins, the whole team failed to perform and as point out above Crawford and McGuffie were also negligent at the goal. That being said McCracken had about 4 yards on Higgins which is ridiculous, Higgins gets drawn out, gets caught under the ball and loses his man. Stay with your man and he doesn’t have a free header. There were a few other crosses and clearances that he made a meal of throughout the match that we somehow got away with.
  11. Chris Higgins absolutely sells the jerseys for the goal. For a defender of his experience to lose his man so badly at the free kick is really poor. Ive previously been a huge fan of Craig Moore but I think it’s time we looked to move him on, he’s been a huge disappointment this year, thought he was miles off the pace yesterday. McDaid was also poor imo and to be honest he’s a bit of a luxury player, flatters to deceive most of the time. Of course it could all of been avoided if it wasn’t for yet more totally inept refereeing for the penalty call.
  12. Depends on the size of the club and the regard they have for the player. There will be youth players at Swansea and Sunderland picking up 5k a week. They will have a wage structure in place that will prevent a first team player being paid less than a youth player.
  13. People seem to be forgetting that Celtic would’ve had to pay St Mirren a development fee if they had signed Morgan on a Bosman. This could potentially have been more than 300k (although looking at the Lewis Ferguson tribunal maybe not) If Swansea sign shankland on a bosman there would be no development fee due to us. The only way we are getting a penny from anyone is if they decide they don’t want to risk waiting on him signing a pre-contract and then changing his mind and going elsewhere. There is no way we’re getting 300k. If we get 100k we’ll be Doing well.
  14. What a dreadful website. They should really update their facts.... ”Thistle are now enjoying their first season back in the SPL for a decade” Barry Smith is also no longer Raith Rovers manager.
  15. Barr would have know there was tax bill, as would all the directors however what they may not have know was the size of that bill. Corporate tax is exceeding complicated and a company the size of Barr Holdings likely employed a number of tax reduction strategies and a load of accountants to reduce their exposure. its entirely feasible that HMRC hasn’t confirmed the exact amount of the tax bill and the sale of the club was based on an estimate at the lower end of the potential figure. Just look at the mess at Murray International/Sevco which was all happening at the same time.(Not that I’m suggesting Marius Rovde had an EBT)
  16. We gave it a shot in the Dalziel years and a half competent manager would’ve achieved it and spend half the cash in the process. Since Barr left and Cameron snr then junior took it on we’ve been on a period of cutting our cloth to suit coupled with some poor managerial appointments and some underperformance. Look we were a shambles of a club long before Cameron took over, the later Barr years exempted (although probably in hindsight you could argue it was still the case) but where we are now if heading in the right direction and hopefully we’ve got this far without risking the club with pie in the sky accounting. I expect in the next few years some of the teams that have probably over performed through luck or dodgy accounting will find themselves back where they deserve to be (Im looking you Hamilton & Livvy!)
  17. Yeah Hamilton and Motherwell are just next to Glasgow but the population of the North/South Lanarkshire area is double that of Ayrshire. Hamilton have only survived due to their youth academy and probably now to a lesser extent their artificial surface. Their crowd numbers are w**k. Killie is a bit of an anomaly, they have probably managed to hold on to their fan base because they have been more successful. They’ve been a premier league club for a long time and have a few cup wins too. Have they been a better run club? Well that depends on who you talk to. Huge numbers of their fans hated the board and how the club was run but went anyway, some stayed away but ultimately they are where they are because they were spending more than they could afford for a long long time and somehow conned the bank In to writing it off. They were probably a couple of months away from being another Hearts/Livvy/Gretna. You day we haven’t shown as much ambition as other diddy clubs but who do you class as a diddy club? The Livingston bubble will burst again and they’ll Hopefully not come back, Hamilton are on borrowed time, QOTS, Morton, Dunfermline all spending vast amounts of money to achieve not very much. This speculate to accumulate pish is nonsense. It’s f**k all to do with a lack ambition and everything to do with a changing world. I have always put us in a similar bracket to St Mirren but ask yourself where they’d be if it wasn’t for Tesco’s millions when they sold Love St. If it wasn’t for the credit crunch and SAC making a c**t of the Barrett deal things might’ve been different.
