Not sure they would attract sufficient walk up’s to cover for the shortfall. Let’s say we have what 900 season ticket holders who sign up yearly. If they all go 5 yearly, we get a shit load of extra money in year 1. We throw a load of money at the team, gain promotion to the promised land. Attract some new fans and have a couple of years in the Premier League before doing a Livvy and coming back down. We then find ourselves back the championship, probably with a significantly higher wage bill than we have now and still have 2 years with no season ticket money coming in and crowds that are in decline because those new fans we attracted during the good years don’t hang around. It’s all hypothetical but we definitely wouldn’t be the first club to try to throw money at it and fail….. Maybe the 5 year tickets are capped at so many per year to ensure a more steady income stream over time. -

Not sure how I feel about a 5 year ticket. Great that the club get the cash now and lock that supporter in for 5 years but if everyone does it, surely they lose out on future income. Seems a lot like a payday loan. Getting money upfront for future ticket sales rings a bell, don’t remember it ending well for another club…… -

Was that the one that just squirmed past the far post? Got away with that, his positioning was poor and seemed slow to move towards the ball. -

I believe Andy Weir landed a job as some kinda marketing manager with one of the large whisky producers looking after North America. -

According to the match report, Phillips came on a minute before Dargo scored, so I think you may be wrong. -

I think I remember him signing around the same time as Henry Smith but don’t think he ever actually played. -

That’s the one! His first touch was picking the ball out the net from a penalty. Must’ve been Mark McGeown who got sent off. -

I seem to remember us signing some keeper from the juniors who came on for his pro debut as about 40 years of age in a cup game. Would’ve been in the Connor, Roberts or Reid days. -

Not great from the keeper at all. Beaten at his near post for the first, just seemed to trundle in… then he had an absolute mare with the second. No idea what he’s thinking. -

I think the biggest issue we’ve had since McCall left is the turnover in the squads. It’s back to the old days of a full rebuild every year. He did well to keep a quality core together so only needed to add a couple. After Hopkin/Duffy, Bullen needed to pretty much do a full rebuild last season. We then needed to do another in the summer. Its unrealistic to expect to be able to do this and everyone work out. We’ve obviously had a nightmare with some of the newbies coming in on 2 year deals and flopping.
