This is fairly pathetic to be honest, all worried about the players getting a wee bit wet and muddy.

Is it? The bounce of that ball in the videos earlier should be giving cause for concern, I reckon and I think that's what Motherwell are referring to rather than players slipping or playing in a bog.

All the farmers, Killie and Paisley minks on this thread should offer us a full apology, imo.

    I know. Fucking magic.

Bizarre thing to be getting all braggart about

There's that much sand packing out the pitch, Dundee Utd have relinquished their 'Arabs' nickname up the road to you.

  3. Murray - no thanks.

He simply doesn't fit the remit at 32. As @YassinMoutaouakil says above, he probably does fit the Robinson mould on paper but he'd have probably been what, 25/26 when Robinson tried to get him at Motherwell. If he was 5 years younger it's definitely one I could see us going for.

I don't foresee a situation where we're offering guys in the early to mid 30s bracket a contract unless they are going to improve our starting XI significantly and Murray would fall under 'decent option' rather than the 'will improve our frontline massively' category.

Is there any actual evidence that these so called pre contracts even exist?

It came from Robinson at the manager Q&A back in January after we'd signed James Scott.

Scott for my opinion came in looking overweight and low on confidence. I've learned now not to write off Robinson signings at first glance though given how many have come good with time and coaching.

Has there ever been an SPL league game played behind closed doors (outwith the covid seasons of course) or would this be a first.

I don't think there is a precedent for this. I just don't understand why it has to be behind closed doors and why of all places Airdrie was chosen.

McDairmid would surely be a far more sensible alternative. Also, if they decide behind closed doors is a must then there's no need for policing, ticketing, stewarding etc and really, it could be played anywhere at all, so why Airdrie?

  6. Caldwell is 100% right in what he is saying. Not Motherwell's issue, Motherwell should not be getting punished.

Motherwell, rightly took an absolute power of shite from other fans about just how shoddy their pitch was a few years back and spent a fortune in fixing it IIRC. Dundee, because they might be moving ground at some point in the future, should not be exempt from attempting to fix what has been a pretty long-standing issue - if the new ground is 3 or 4 years away do they just amble through until then? Again, it goes back historically to a time where we were forced to spend approx £400k on USH for Love Street in 2006/07 when we came up, safe in the knowledge that we'd be moving out in the next couple of years so we could perhaps get away with it but they still didn't provide an exemption for that as the pitch didn't meet those required standards at the time.

Nah, Cody needs to be winning it himself without any retired lads coming to help him. It would make him look like a bit of a bitch if he needed Stone Cold and John Cena to help him win the big one.

Imagine if a retired legend helped out Stone Cold at Mania 14.

    Middle ground for me.

Folk should definitely be helping prevent the collaterals like Rock, Solo, Jimmy etc getting to Cody (even wheel out a few more extended family members on one time appearances to get involved of behalf of the family). Just every time someone tries something, somebody that the bloodline has shafted in the past comes down to prevent them. In that sense, Cena, Sami, Jey, Rollins etc would make sense.

Austin? Well, what other explanation would you need other than it's Rock/Austin!

Meanwhile, all this shenanigans around the ringside area and arena leading to prevention of interference means that it actually stays Cody vs Roman in the ring one-on-one after all.

  8. If we lose on Saturday, we're still odds-on to make the top six.

However, in a season where we have spent 0 out of 31 rounds outside of the top 5 in the league, it will be seriously disappointing if we make top six and miss out on 4th or 5th. For me this season, 6th is still an achievement, an indicator that what we're doing is somewhat sustainable but it would feel like a huge opportunity missed in terms of giving out supporters something that we've not had in over 35 years.

After 29 played, I think I'd mentioned 4 points between Fir Park and Hearts at home in whatever order was essential. That still stands as a must. A win on Saturday means we go to Parkhead, a place we've picked points up in the last couple of seasons, with essentially a free hit.

If we do win on Saturday, our season is going to be defined by the round robin of games vs Kilmarnock and whoever of Dundee/Hibs take the 6th slot, much the same as theirs will be...We should be going to Tynecastle and Ibrox and play Celtic at home which we shouldn't be earmarking many if any points for so this is a massive game not only for top 6, but for our entire season.

Day after the Germany game. I’ll miss it

Foo Fighters playing at Hampden on the 17th so can’t see it being there plus Taylor Swift playing at Murrayfield the weekend before?

KLR shot her load early and has since deleted.

The Hydro is disappointing as they could easily shift 50k tickets but yeah, if the other venues are booked that weekend then I get it.

Ok. So the alternative - a 44 game season - isn't something that most clubs / fans want ?

     Nope.

Plenty of supporters would be happy with, say, an 18 team division playing each other home and away or 16 teams and playoffs but broadcasters simply won't accept two less Old Firms a season.

A 44 game season with the size of squad and budget most teams in Scotland run with wouldht be at all feasible IMO.

Didn't catch all of the match yesterday.

    What was Bolton subbed for?

Was it his hand injury recurring?

No. It looked it at first like it might have been his hand but appeared to have been a hamstring or quad issue from what I could see.

He'll be a big miss if hes out for a period but Taylor proved again in his 70 or so mins why he is more than capable to be a first choice.

  12. Cargill's entire package, the music, the entrance, the costume, the look just screams 'megastar'.

She's going to be absolutely massive. Whatever the 'it' factor is, she has it in buckets.

For the first time in ages St Kidding have had larger attendances. Once you stop spunking money you will be back where you belong.

Is that really 1000 points behind. At your average points total that would take 100 years and then some to even catch up.

For a team that are supposed to be similar you are actually a pale shadow. An irrelevance even.

    IMG_1932.png

You really have been broken ever since that Covid game a few years back that got called off as a 3-0 win for Motherwell and then overturned.

Fair play though, your presence on these threads is always a genuine highlight as it's cracking point and laugh material. Glad to see you here with all time league tables and juicy patter like 'St. Kidding'.

Keep up the good work x
