  1. A report I've read somewhere says that he's the first wrestler to openly come out whilst signed to a major company. Didn't both Orlando Jordan and Pat Patterson never hide the fact that they were gay whilst with the WWE?

Also, I love Sauls security guard. He's such a lazy useless bag of shit. Always on the verge of keeling over. Brilliant wee bit of comic relief.

    Breaking Bad

Just watched it, brilliant episode yet again. That scene at the end had the lot. You thought it was a setup for a game of cat and mouse until Walt's face turned and he turned back to face Hank. The dialogue between the two and the tension was amazing and Walt's line about treading carefully wasn't only chilling, it's yet another instant classic line which people will probably be using in pop culture for years to come. His attempts to convince Jesse about Mike still being alive were also very unsettling, especially as Jesse isn't even close to convinced.
  4. I think it's unfair to lump Slater in with the other two. Yes he's pretty pish, but he's a competent wrestler and very good at making others look good. Good jobber material, really.
  5. I'll be there. Haven't been for a few months, so I'm really looking forward to it.
  6. I've heard this before about Patterson (the casting couch thing), Ahmed Johnson isn't the first person to level this at him, I'm sure of it. Also, I didn't realise until very, very recently, that the Brooklyn Brawler (Steve Lombardi) used to get battered about the ring by Pat on a regular basis. And not in a wrestling sense.
  7. Fucking hell. I didn't think we'd EVER see that happening!
  8. That;s why I've enjoyed it and it's the book's intent from the outset, to make it relatively accessible to people who don't have and extensive knowledge of the universe and it's workings.
  9. Nothing more satisfying than firing a kettle of boiling water into the nest the ants burrow out in the back garden between the paving slabs. Boils them and their horrible wee eggs.
  10. I've been reading 'A Brief History of Everything' recently. The thing that blew my mind in terms of the 'expansion into nothing' was the question of "what is after the edge of the universe?". The answer given was that, of course, there is nothing, but it's impossible to even comprehend what complete nothingness is, and is a moot point anyway as even through bending every means of space and time travel, it would be impossible to reach the edge of the actual universe to see through it. You would carry on going and eventually end up back at the point at which you started, i.e. Earth. The author compared it to walking around the globe in a straight line in search of the horizon and ending up back at your own house. Only the universe isn't spherical like a planet, it's a shape, possibly not even a physical shape, which our minds cannot comprehend. It's a good read, it gives information on subjects as varied as how people hunt supernovae, to how the Earth's mass was accurately weighed ridiculously accurately, in 1798 by a recluse called Henry Cavendish, who never actually published his works, such was his crippling social anxieties. The other stand out figure was that the percentage of the entire universe occupied by any kind of matter, is approximately 0.0000000000000000000042% I recommend giving it a read.
  11. Agreed, it's amazing how things pan out, even Though it wasn't a burial for the sake of jobbing a no hoper. He was right in the middle of his year long punishment.
  12. Well remembered, Dom. I actually had to go looking for this as although I've always thought it and have been a massive mark for him, I don't actually recall putting it down on here that I thought he was going to be massive.
  13. How about, the overwhelming positive reaction to Bryan being the straw that broke the camel's back? Along the lines of: He could understand the fans being on the side of The Rock as he's an icon, one of the greats. Even CM Punk as he'd captured the imagination of the public with his one man crusade and was in his home town......but Mark Henry? Or worse still, a puny no-hoper like Daniel Bryan?! A guy who he had given a title shot out of nothing more than pity and sympathy.
  14. Four years, like in football, is an exceptionally long time in Wrestling. At 32, Bryan has a long, long time left in him at the top, as does Cena at 36. The reason that Cena has been a face for so long, well, you know the reasons. The issue most people are making, and I agree with, is that Bryan isn't a flash in the pan. For the first time in the last decade, someone is coming along who is getting sustained positive crowd reactions. Punk did it, and will still be a top, top star in the WWE, but won't carry the can as the very top guy, he's too volatile by his own admission. In Bryan, they have a guy who can be face, heel, whatever, for the next few years and in Cena, they finally have the chance to mix it up a little with him. I'd imagine an edgy, bitter, downright fucking angry, Cena, would pull in a lot of merch sales (though obviously not on the level he does now) and get far better reactions than what he's getting right now. John Cena is a master at what he does, an absolute master, the issue is that his schtick is now as stale as can be. All the top, top guys evolve......it's beyond time that he did as well. Compare the WWE now to even 3 or 4 years ago. Guys like Bryan, Punk, Ambrose, Sandow, Ziggler, Wyatt. There is a LOT of youngish talent there. An abundance of interesting characters, great talkers and guys who are excellent in the ring. I reckon the WWE has had all it's eggs in the one basket long enough as there simply wasn't any other talent willing to take chances and burst onto the scene.
  15. Civ 5 for a fiver is in the next flash sale vote. I paid £15 for the Gold edition last night, f**k my luck.
  16. FM13 is a ridiculous £7.49. If you don't have it, WHY? But seriously, if you don't, now's the time.
  17. Just finished watching it. Bryan is so over it's scary. They can't turn him heel, it's impossible. The crowd will cheer him out the building, regardless.
  18. He reminds me so, so much of Eric Bischoff. His looks, voice, mannerisms. Everything. That's a good thing.
  19. Civ 5 Gold Edition bought for £15, down from £35 when all the extra content included. Bye life.
  20. To be fair, if New Jack threatens to kill you, there's probably a good chance he's going to attempt to do so at some point.

No it wasn't random. He knew what Jesse had in mind, and he knew it would be kill them or Jesse would be killed. How is that random in any way?
  22. Was thinking the exact same thing. Goldberg and Austin were never an active part of the same roster, 3 minute warning weren't very good and Christian was a midcarder at best.
