  1. Balde should also be one of the first names on the team sheet at the moment
  2. Our first league game is in just over a week, against the favourites for the league and live on tv, we cant afford to not take this seriously. Speaking of which not having a proper left back to start the season is sunday league stuff, especially since we’ve known this for about 4 months.
  3. Need a massive improvement in the next 2 games not so much for this competition but for the start of the league. Assuming steele is injured i’d go gaston stewart little tob gold stowe balde mckenna dow bird mcintosh
  4. The difference this time being that hammy’s injury is a very serious one and there’s no guarantee he’ll come back on schedule without any setbacks. He’s only just started running again it’ll take a long time to build the muscle back up and nobody will really know how it is until he starts putting strain back on it how he’ll be. Not having a fit left back to start the season would be incredibly naive and be a major weakness. Ideally want someone that could play in a couple of positions for when hammy does come back. I have heard keiran macdonald’s name being mentioned but could just be a rumour.
  5. They were poor but it wasn’t helped that they had no cover in front of them. No9 (who i was impressed with apart from his penalty) played on the shoulder and we were undone by simple punts over the top. I though their no6 was a tidy enough player too.
  6. For st mirren i’d go with gaston steele little tob gold stewart/stowe balde slater dow mckenna bird I noticed shay logan left cove, would take him on a short term deal as long as he sorts his shorts out
  7. Scott stewart is not a left back(we need one), McKenna and allan are not a midfield pairing and turan doesn’t look very good. Hope that was just an experiment tonight but it didn’t work. Stowe and balde looked very bright when they came on and should really be starters. Also safe to say both teams need to practice penalties. Cowden’s no9 pen was one of the worst I’ve ever seen.
  8. Stewart isn’t a right back never mind left back. I’d probably put gold there but the fact is we dont have a fit left back so its unfair to criticise anyone put there tbh. Ideally we need a left back/centre half, a winger and as mentioned punt jacobs to bring in a big ball winning midfielder….. wishful thinking
  9. Na just known as man bun, he looked ok until he actually had to do something with a football.
  10. A proper left back must be our priority after securing a striker even if its just a 6 month loan
  11. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cuhw0YfNRCC/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== The resemblance is uncanny
  12. Absolutely, i have no issue with us splashing a bit of cash on the right striker
  13. Ferrari turning a solid 4th & 6th into a 7th and 10th
  14. Like carrick, I’d hope we have enquired about callum gallagher for airdrie. I believe he is part time there and has been banging them in on a regular basis. Im guessing he is happy being glasgow based and now that they’re in the same division it’s extremely unlikely he’d come to us now.
  15. Nobody has even mentioned we’ve allowed this lad to choose shirt number 62, an absolute disgrace!
  16. A journeyman striker in the lower leagues who’s scored f**k all goals, he’ll fit right in
  17. Well said and each week that passes makes me a little more anxious about the season ahead. Fans have backed the club massively especially since they got to the championships and unfortunately have been let down in the last year or so in terms of signings. We’ve lost a good few players now and scott allan has been the only one to get excited about but it hasn’t worked out as of yet. Its also a bit frustrating that we’ve had a few successful loan signings but haven’t been able to sign them permanently for whatever reason. Hopefully still another 3 or 4 signings to come in plus a couple of loans to boost the squad.
  18. Positives from today were steele looked decent as did mcintosh when he came on and scott allan was actually putting trying! No12 trialist looked ok, made some decent runs but his touch and finishing were a bit off which can be forgiven at this stage of the season, the rest can enjoy sunday in their caravan and head back home.
  19. Keeghan Jacobs gives me the fear every time he’s on the ball
  20. I mind premier sports on the west port selling them for a while and its been a challenge to actually buy an arbroath shirt in the past too. Not really a fan of bringing out new kits every year especially with 3 kits now starting to be the norm too, summer is costing more than christmas between season tickets and merchandise for folk with kids.
  21. The lack of signing news is making the chat on here tragic. Really hope we’ve got some better (known) players lined up than some of the trialists that played on Saturday. Genuine question, have we ever signed someone that we know next to nothing about and they’ve turned out to be decent?
  22. James craigen is good enough for us and should never have been let go.
