Really what was the point of this post?

See, now you've asked a question so that usually involves a reply.

The point of my post, to help your understanding, was that the original poster tried to throw a wee insult towards Airdrie and Dunfermline fans but cocked it up a wee bit. So it seemed like a nice opportunity to point that out, whilst also commenting on other content within his post. So I'd say the point of my post was to respond to someone else's on a thread. Is that not how these things work? Someone comments, people respond, just like you responded to my comment?

So if that's attention seeking, as Al-FFC seems to think, then I guess we are all attention seekers.

Unless you just read comments and never respond or make your own comments. But that's just voyeurism. Creepy.

I think today will be a tough call tbh, most bairns are going into this one grounded in the reality of where we are we are on a good run and it has to come to an end at some point i do think if it does it it will be today.  How are you with your suspensions with the 2 sendings off the past couple of weeks ?

its probably been asked but have you got a PATG today ?

    PATG?

Smith, sent off on the home game v Pars, should be back today. His replacement scored last week though so tough decisions for McCabe on whether to recall Smith, but I think he will. Need his experience and his work rate is phenomenal and will be needed today. As for the GK sending off, emergency loan of Muzz from Hibs is a superb short term bit of business by the club. Was excellent when on loan to us at the start of the season, winning PoTM award. Love Hutts to bits, especially after his pen save last week, but not for a whole 90 mins v your lot. That'd be heart attack stuff. 😂

All contributing factors, however, lets talk about your own 3 nil up against Dunfermline and managing to lose 4-3.  I mean we had to appoint Gary Holt to have a collapse on that proportion although we did do it twice once in a cup game against Hibs and another collapse in the league.

If you had been down a couple of goals already I could get that under the circumstance, but lying down to Dunfermline at 3 goals up. you could have at least tried to make the capitulation convincing.

Err... I think I already have talked about our result. We also were down to 10 men. Are you just going to skim over the fact that you're happy using that excuse but don't think it applies to other teams too?

Our collapse was brutal. No doubt about it. Hard to take given we dominated Dunfermline. Even McPake said we are the best team they've played this season. Home and away. The sending off turned the game. We still shouldn't have lost. But if that sending off doesn't happen, we win. Simple as that. So if we csn outplay them, even at their own park, then we've nothing to fear today. Even the mighty Falkirk.

losing the keeper and being a man down when there were no more subs to be made was a major part in that, not to mention honking officiating, and am sorry bud but that pitch looks as if the young team have had a swally session on it not to mention the state of it, not that ours is in the best shape either but damn site better than what that is.

Added in the fact we didn't turn up that day was another deciding factor in the result.

Right, so you're excusing your performance to being a man down, yet the initial post was about our collapse, also when a man down...... Interesting.

And blaming the pitch. Jeezo. 😂

A few things that strike me from the last few days:

Any attempt to ask the same fans to fund a new fan scheme is not going to work.  We should 100% be pushing FSS more.  There are lots of ways to do this but we should start by offering some kind of benefits.  Suggestions like the one @Brockers61 made about targeting overseas fans or giving perks to FSS fans like exclusive online content or the chance to choose strip design etc wouldn't cost anything but would entice more members imo.  The marketing needs to be much better.

The Herald article reports that the club couldn't have been clearer that without investment we wouldn't see out the season.  My recollection is the message was strong but not that panic stations level of urgency.  I still don't think the majority of fans realise the state we're in. P&B is a bubble.

We need to settle on a hybrid fan/private investment model.  We were losing 4-500k in the Championship then pinning our hopes on promotion isn't going to be enough and FSS needs time to grow.

Having said that, failing to go up this year would be an unmitigated disaster.

The new pitch grant is great news

Airdrie & Dunfermline fans are p*cks

P*cks? Packs, pucks, picks, pecks picks? Which one is it?

And yes, failure to go up WOULD be an unmitigated disaster. But the joy it would bring to us p*cks....

Don't worry, your so super big that there's enough gormless fans who'll keep bailing the club out. 😘

Anyone happen to know if there is a decent amount of disabled parking at the ground for away fans? A family member is coming with us today and they are not able to walk far. We do have a blue badge.

There is plenty yes, accessible via both front and rear entrances too I believe. There's stewards on the gates who can direct you. 👍

There is blowing an opportunity and then there is absolute and complete capitulation such as properly managed Airdrie produced a couple of weeks back.

And losing 4 nil to us the last time you were at our ground wasn't a complete capitulation?

But you 'properly managed' to forget that I'm sure. 😘

    Tremendous stuff!

Bigging up losing after blowing a three goal lead at home with half an hour to go and then telling us we should be afraid of the mighty Charlie Telfer.

Ridiculous post from start to finish.

Must be good supporting a team that don't occasionally f**k up and blow an opportunity. Oh wait..... The Mighty, huge, massive Falkirk are still here after years of perpetual failure. 😉

Let's see come Saturday. Here's hoping the 'Mighty Charlie Telfer' shows what he can do when he's managed properly. 👌

You will need to be much better than fairly average this week to have any chance.

No doubt. I also don't doubt that we will be. Whilst you're all fawning over your defence, with someone suggesting it's you've best CB pairing in the league, I'd suggest we've the most inform midfield in the league right now. Including Mr Telfer who is just getting better with every game he plays.

Dunfermline couldn't handle us 2 games ago. But for a daft sending off, it could've ended more than 3 nil to us. Even on Saturday, we played them off the park at times.

I see no reason why we can't do the same to you on Saturday given we've done it plenty in recent seasons. Yes, you may be an improved team now, but we too are a stronger team than when we beat you 4 nil at home earlier in the season.

Some of the comments on here are funny as. Edinburgh have been our bogey team so we are cautious about when we play them. It's fair to say we've been your bogey team yet the confidence / arrogance on some posts is laughable. Bring on Saturday.

Our record is dreadful against Airdrie. It’s time for us to stand up and get results ourselves, we’ve been reliant on other teams losing for too long. If we win, I can see us winning the league, if we don’t then it’ll be the playoffs. Always a tough game at Airdrie who seem to save their best performances for us

Don't flatter yourselves. We've been fairly average against you at times and still won.

I don't dispute that you guys were on top for a large part of the first half. But the first 25 mins was even. We had a goal chalked off that shouldn't of been IMO.

Airdrie had us on the ropes for the last 20 mins of the first half. You scored goals and were on top.

I'm disputing your comment about being all over us for the first 60 minutes. It's not true.

You were not on top in the opening 25 minutes or the start of the second half. Your third goal was on the break when we were on the front foot.

The first 25 minutes was so even that your gaffer hauled off 2 players after 30 minutes. 😂

    Have a word with yourself.

Your striker punches the ball away in the box, its stupidity not bad luck.

You were lucky that Smith's red didn't have you down to 9.

From the goal highlights Smith halls and is rolling over. He's barely even looking in the direction of the ball when it hits him. Never a red card.

And why down to 9? Assume you think the keeper should have been sent off?

  13. Ultimately, we were unlucky to lose a penalty and have a player sent off. It's bad luck. The collapse that followed was not luck but a combo of piss poor game management from us and excellent pressure from Dunfermline. Its the tale of their season to be fair. They've done what is required to get the poi ta to be top of the league. Not always pretty but they grins out results when it matters most. That's something we struggle to do. We always collapse when it counts the most.

  14. 40 minutes ago, Chubbychops said:

You didn't though. It was fairly even when Wighton had a goal chalked off that looked a bit dubious. Pars then fell away for the remaining 25 mins and desevedly lost two goals due to awful defending and slick Airdrie play.

We then started the second half on top and lost a goal on the break. Airdrie get a man sent off and we demolish you.

Exactly. We got a man sent off. Up to that point it was 3 nil going on more. Other Pars fans on here admitted that too. We were dominant and that's not in question. However, we crumbled when down to 10 men and you deserve credit for the pressure you then managed to put us under. Most other teams in the league would not have got that result today. But there's no doubt the sending off and penalty changed the game in your favour.

If it stayed 11 v 11 you'd have been comfortably beaten. And personally I think the red card was very harsh. Think we might even appeal it. Time will tell.

    Round 2 next week.

  15. Dunfermline fans had the pleasure of seeing both the best and worst of Airdrie today. Absolutely played you off the park for 60 minutes, then showed how weak our underbelly is by not being able to shut out a 2 goal lead with 10 men.

Well, I say Dunfermline fans.... My thoughts go out to the few tadgers that left after we scored our 3rd goal, missing one of Dunfermline's best comebacks in years. 😂

Bit of a kick in the tadgers but objectively very very funny. There is not a bigger cuck in Scottish football than Airdrie.

Couple of winnable (ish) ties opened up in the Scottish cup too. Raith Inverness or Ayr at home would give us a chance.

Yet you regularly get pumped by the biggest cucks in Scottish football. 😘
