Not got anything concrete I’m afraid but wouldn’t be surprised if it follows a similar format as the season before last - 3rd kit in the next couple of weeks and then home/away together for the start of the league campaign at the latest.

For someone with nothing concrete, you're pretty specific on when you think the 3rdnand then other 2 kits will be coming out. 😉

The club IMO have had a very poor 3 weeks since the playoff victory,  all fans regular or otherwise were buzzing,  the flames needed to be fuelled to keep the fanbase buoyant,  announce strips, season tickets, resignings etc ,  really nothing,   now the old haunts are coming back, rumours of best players leaving (unsubstantiated), unable to attract new talent due to wages, etc,   The club promised us an exciting summer,  we need some positive news to pour paraffin on the dying embers of euphoria following our play off win...

look at Falkirk for example, they got rode like a seaside donkey from ourselves,  you would nevervknow, due to them announcing positivity to feed the gullible fanbase..

If anyone is put off coming back out to support our promotion winning team next season based on a quiet few weeks during close season, then they should maybe take up following another sport.

  4. Panicked for a moment when I couldn't find our thread, only to realise that I'd gone into the league one forum out of sheer habit. Instant relief and a huge smile when I realised what I'd done. Resisted from popping into the Falkirk thread to tell them what I'd done. 😂

Right, anyone know how I save this new thread to give me notifications whenever there's a new comment added? Had it for the old thread but no idea how to set it up for this. Thanks in advance!

So long guys,  we are going on a gap' year,    will miss the lively debates,   the crowd wanks etc.....

    an revoir

and Falkirk always remember WE OWN YOU

Was wondering about this. Who is gonna step up and take over the mantle of riding the fook out of Falkirk this season?

League prize money is a big increase definitely. Attendances won't be a huge money spinner though. Assuming Partick go up, we have ICT, Ross County, Arbroath and Queens Park who will bring League 1 level crowds, probably even less. Morton, Ayr, Raith, Dunfermline will all bring decent supports but nothing huge unless they are top of the league. Same with Dundee Utd really. You'd hope there will be a few extra in the home end but we won't be the free scoring side we were this year so that may tail off if we're down the bottom half.

The cup run is the big thing, you need a bit of luck with the draw but you also need to take advantage of it. Look at sides like Falkirk and ICT who did very little this year yet managed to reach a semi-final/final and have made a small fortune off it.

This season we only really opened the away stand for Falkirk and Dunfermline. It'll be nearer half our opponents we do that for next season.

And as for not being the same free scoring team? I beg to differ. I dont see Rhys changing how he wants the team to play. Yes, we will have a smaller budget than most, but he's proven himself to be able to build a team, command a certain style of play and drive high standards of performance, subbing and dropping players who don't live up to those standards.

I cannot see him changing that approach. And I really hope he doesn't.

Guaranteed he's not looking to come 8th next season. He's gonna go for the play offs again and so he should.

We will never know quite rightly what players earn but for gossips, sake,  Rico declared during his trial he was on 375 per week plus app money,   would imagine that would be at the lower end of our scale,   We took over the terms of sal s 2 year full-time contract when they were Premier League a nd also don't forget we took over The remainder of Callum Smith 3 year Premier league contract also(2 years left when he signed) plucking figures out the air I would think both players would be in excess of 500 - 600 a week,   let's not forget McCabe and Frizzell allegedly were in signing talks at the start of the season with Falkirk who pay substantially more than us I would think....  Throw in Telfers contract he wanted 800 a week allegedly in preseason,  he never signed on for that amount in September,

we always think of ourselves as the pa upers paying poor wages etc,   if we were paying certain players championship wages to get promoted,  we achieved that aim, what next for these players..

(For the record I am not I T k and figures quoted have no substance expect from rumour apart from Rico's which was declared in c ourt)

I think you're quite a bit off in terms of weekly wages. I reckon telfer was even higher and would not be the only one on a bigger wage. And they'll quite rightly expect an increased offer for the Championship, should they get an offer at all. Young and hungry players won't command as high a wage as your Telfer types, who have higher level experience. Given we will likely be primarily full time this season, wage bills will definitely be on the rise. But that should be countered with increased crowds, league place money etc.

Wouldn't mind a wee cup run this season too!

Pains me to say it but I agree.

Morrison relies on a purple patch of goals/assists to mask too many poor performances.

Yep. And blaming other round him being poor just doesn't wash. Look at Charlie Reilly of Albion Rovers. Bottom of league 2, yet up for Spfl player of the year with 22 goals and 14 assists. In a poor team.

Morrison isn't suddenly going to become amazing. You can do better.

Exactly this^ We are where we are and Callumn Morrison is one of the best wingers you'll get in this league, cant be expecting him to score every week or play well every week when the whole team plays poorly

He's really not though is he. If he only performs 40% of the time, as another FFC fan stated above, then he's not that good. Flattered to deceive a lot of the time. Maybe mismanaged, maybe thinks he's better than he is. For a winger, he can't cross his legs. Take Gabby McGill as comparison for example. 18 goals and 15 assists.

    Now that's a winger

  10. Justin Devenny didn't have a great game in the 1st leg against Hamilton. But he's still young and that can happen. Can also happen with experienced players as we've all seen at times no doubt. He merited his start in the 2st leg and was rightly dropped for the 2nd. But as said above, he was superb when he came on. That shows you that Rhys trusted him to come on and do a job but also shows the mental strength Justin has to put the 2st game behind him and come back with something to prove.

Genuinely think he will be excellent this season for us, but also think McMaster can go the same way. Rhys clearly sees a player in him and he's been excellent at times over the season.

All in all, it's quite exciting times to be an Airdrie fan! Reckon we could keep the core of this seasons team and trust the club to bring in players to improve the squad as well. Cannot wait!

That was League 1 though, if we were still in League 1 I could see McMaster doing what you described, similar to Devenny. But to make that jump from where he is now to someone who can contribute in the Championship is a much bigger ask.

I think he did a good job this season when he played, and wouldn't be against him staying in a squad role. But I'm not really convinced he'll be at a level next season to offer us a huge amount.

Maybe, but it's not unreasonable to assume he can step up. Bear in mind he was/is with St. Mirren so clearly rated by them enough to be on the books of Premier League team. I've seen enough of him to know he has ability. That's enough for me to try and keep him on. Any reasonable development this season will see him challenging to start IMO.
