All the league 1 shouts are poor this is Ayr United here show a bit of ambition and for first time in 35 years give us a big name
Someone to excited the support and get what ever is left of the support back again like when we had Craig Burley
Someone to go out play attractive football and keep us up the table
Only really one man for that and his names James McFadden

McIntyre has applied for the job you doughball, you better get on the phone and tell him he is not allowed to apply as he stays too far away
I am sure he has places he can stay in Glasgow when he is here but that is a long time away from his familly if he gets it
If this is true then he will be a strong contender like Hopkin

Answer the question why would a manager that has already made his name and managed a big team down south
Want to come to a team with no money dwindling fans med evil staduim and a basic youth set up and crap training facilities
I bet he earns more cash doing Sportsound to he isn't going to be Ayr manager Ayr have absolutely nothing to offer him that he would be interested in he has standards

Jim Jeffries managed Kilmarnock while based in Edinburgh, he had a flat in Troon that he stayed in a few nights a week. If a manager doesn't take a hands on approach to training, he doesn't need to be there 9-9 every day. Levin is in the Sportsound studios most nights.
Obviously it would be not possible for someone who stayed in Dundee or Carlisle to travel through for a few hours every day, a five hour round trip.
There is enough talent in the central belt that we can hire from without paying a relocation fee or £100 a day fuel bill.
Out of work so no compensation, Central belt based, experienced in promotion from this level or maintaining in the premier would be my 3 criteria
Hopkin
Levin
McIntyre
Robinson
S.McCall
I'd be happy with any of them.
I notice that Glynn Hurst has the Ayr badge as his twitter profile picture and is doing a Q&A on black and white TV. Presumably most of the questions submitted will be, are you applying for the Ayr job? Either that or Ayrshire's favourite author, John Nivens regular submission to online Q&A's "have you ever shat in a bag or cup?"
McIntyer isn't based in the central belt he lives in the Highlands and his kids go to school there cant see him uprooting them for a small team like Ayr
Again why would Levein take the Ayr job the Ayr job a massive budget great training facilities top youth system?
Can he not get all this at other clubs in SPFL and further afield you have a better chance to be Ayr gaffer than Levein putting in his CV
Hamilton or Livvy would be my shout especially if Martindale goes higher to a bigger team

We need to petition Div for such a feature.

Killie fans are the same so crack on
I am sure he will read the pelters that you throw my way that is completely unnecessary

Why don’t you go ramble away on there then. I promise we’ll all come and read it.McKay is a bad man for a spicey un politcal correct private text message
Martindale is beyond reproach for being involved in orginised crime
I see your logic again the reasoning of a Tory rich boy I suppose

I believe so. It just pretty much confirms what I was saying yesterday about these bookies shortlists are largely meaningless. They are just plucked from social media rumours and suggestions, never really anything concrete in them.

What do we do with our GK situation?
Was no mention of how long emergency loan covered, may have just been Saturday?
All of a sudden we're in a bit of a mess with GK situation and no manager to solve it...
Amal Knight looks seriously good on Youtube if the club can put folk up in hotels could be worth getting over for a trial even Ayr myst be better than Kingston rude boy

It’s just folk putting money on it because he was mentioned in the same article as Maurice Ross.
I wouldn’t be totally against it. Did he not have Dumbarton as high as 5th before leaving to go to St Mirren? What's your opinion on Martindale is it contradictory to your opion of McKay?
Martindale made a mistake to in his passed and never got hung out to dry for it

Back to Craig Levein what would draw him to the Ayrshire coast
Winderffull fans modern training facilities top class youth system good fish in chips with no salt in sauce?
If you were him would you be waiting for a Livingston or Hamilton job to come around?
Instead of coming to a team like Ayr United?
I like Ayr United but come on what have they got to offer him than other clubs can up here or doon south?

No second chance for you then
I don't need a second chance though McKay was performance director for SFA
Even they knew what was printed was taking completely out of context
Anyway he is to good for Ayr it's like the clown suggesting Lambert

Ayr need a manager that plays attractive football and wins doubt Malky McKay would take it he still wants a job in SPFL and had a interview for Dundee United job
If someone if his caliber was interested it would be a no brainer
If SFA employed him after text gate pretty sure a wee team like Ayr United could
McKay clearly isn't a racist if he was he wouldn't sign black players maybe he is sexist but it was only a daft text between pals
Everybody has did daft texts to there mates but they never had there phone hacked by some parasitic journalist

The games up of "Malky mckay" and Billy Davies are considered top managers
Fwiw Petrie has done a great job at the mo and is capable of signing players from anywhere in the world like every other manager is. He would be a good appointment although I can't see it happening and hope it doesn't. Darren Young would be a poor appointment. He's done decent at East Fife but that is largely due to keeping a group of players together rather than any great tactical nouse and even then they didn't make the playoffs in our time in league 1.Does signing EU nationals not hamper signing players players from anywhere in the world?
And having watched Ayr for 30 years cant seem to remember to many foreign players bar the odd Austrailan loanee or the odd Northern Irish or English player
Actually it would be good to try and find some commonwealth talant if someone is putting them up in hotels

I can't see any other teams throwing large wages around to change it
Players play with the guys they came through with and played against from school boy levels all the way up
Petrie will never be Ayr United manager it will go rightfully to a west coaster Hopkin probably if Cainning or Archibald don't want another crack in the hot seat

Yes, but I am seriously worried that unless we get someone with the stature of Levein in then, with the names mentioned, we are in for a serious battle to finish higher than 9th. By the time the new guy comes in and effects any serious change, there are not enough weeks in the season left to allow for it. If he does at all.
Maybe we should have punted Kerr sooner.
Why would Craig Levein want to be the Ayr United manager?
What as a club does Ayr have to offer him?
