  1. Yet, you have never seen your team lift a cup have you? Just like nearly all the townies that visit this thread. Nae luck chaps.
  2. I'm guessing that picture is more 1990 than 80. I'm also guessing shooboax is nearer the age of starting puberty soon. But as I say it's just a guess. Anyway, a couple of random thoughts on us over the last few weeks. I think the whole fear over Locke being appointed was a huge overreaction, it still could prove unsuccessful but I hope not. His signings seem to be interesting and not the usual former players that we feared. As for the two he has worked with, they will be decent additions. Friday night was was hard work, but already you have seen some upsets from bigger teams in the competition so nothing to worry about. We team looked fairly solid, apart from midfield, no way we can start with Callaghan and Matthews in CM, too lightweight and not enough experience between them. The new striker has plenty of pace and looks like a player, thought his challenge was easily a straight red though, looks like he has a bit of fire in him. Coustrain looks like he could be a favourite as well, looking forward to him ripping a few RBs this season.
  3. Dafc seem to disregard rules and regulations on a regular basis but this crowd w**k that they seem to partake in is surely breaking not only several laws but just common decency for other spectators. Or is it a west Fife thing that we will never understand?
  4. Thompson is a w****r without doubt, but to label them a disgusting family is a bit much. What are you basing this on?
  5. Can someone scout another player out there. Preferably one that has no u21 caps and never had a bad game in the last 2 years.
  6. Grim on here isn't it? Like sitting in the south stand. Happy with McHattie, would have probably preferred McKeown like most but as most predicted since January that has been looking unlikely anyway. Just out of interest any idea how many goals were set up with his long throw in? I do remember them being dangerous, just can't remember any goals from them off the top of my head.
  7. Always liked walker at the rovers, even if he was a bit frustrating at times, but the only players that don't frustrate don't seem to hang around for long. So he took a few digs when he got let go and wanted a square go with some boys who were bigger arseholes than him? Not bothered with that at all. I don't get the hate for him, was a decent and passionate player for us in general.
  8. You are right, I'm getting them mixed up. Used to always have a Wee red puss when he used to scream as well didn't he.
  9. No as high as Craig Wilson's. Surprised the dugs wernae tackling him.
  10. Can't ever remember the townies ever being this needy? Seems like that wee stint in league 1 has dented their confidence a bit.
  11. Correct. Would definitely have Longridge back at the club but wouldn't be overly disappointed if he wasn't. To get Connolly back would be a huge bonus.
  12. McHattie has been at the club today, looks like he will be signing.
  13. Quite pleasantly surprised on the appointment, not because of any great things I have heard about his coaching (not heard anything negative either) but because it's a bit different rather than the dreaded brown/Jeffries scenario. Can't wait for the season to start. Welcome aboard Darren.
  14. Heard a wee rumour on Wednesday that McHattie was maybe coming to us anyway. Wasn't the most reliable source to be fair but it was talked about before Gary Locke was getting touted as manager anyway.
  15. ^^^^^^^ love this guy. Just about to post the same, would never have picked Locke if I had 10 reasonable choices, but he is here and it could go tits up, but it could not. Let's just see and (hopefully) enjoy.
  16. Just saw the Barry Robson post, no a bad shout even as player manager. The last ginger one we had wasnae that bad if I remember right.
  17. Have big doubts any woman can be successful at a league club in Britain until at least a few have tried and got some of the stigma out of the way. As someone else pointed out, why is Kerr even getting mentioned when she is hardly doing anything of note at her current club in the lowland league. Good luck to her, hope she has a decent career but let her test the waters somewhere that isn't here and right now.
  18. Was there not a team in England that let the fans pick the team every week a few years ago after they all bought shares. Sure it was a big thing at the time, presuming it's all stopped now.
  19. His record on the pitch wasn't that great in terms of wins but the difference in belief and set up from dazza's team was unbelievable. It was always an understanding that he was only here to basically help rather than be a permanent manager but if he stuck with us we would have been out of that league sharpish I reckon. But no, he will not be leaving Hearts that's for sure.
