  1. Any more news out of the Ayr camp? Anyone ITK? Have been really looking forward to heading to the game and the day out. I'd be gutted if its off!
  2. Alright folks! I am trying to sort (drinking) logistics for this but its been a few years since I have done the trip on the train. Any Ayr lads/lassies able to help out please? I remember Newton-on-Ayr being bit closer for a walk to the away end/bowling club, so that works pre game. But for the train post game, is there an off licence near Newton-on-Ayr for the return journey? Or do we need to head to town and leave from Ayr station? (If the latter, is there a handy place near by? First train from Ayr is 5:14, so quite tight post game...). Cheers! As for the game. Last three visits were an incredibly comfortable 2-0 win under Gary Locke (f**k me), and then the two 3-0 abominations under Barry Smith (f**k me). I think the second one I was in the pub at Glasgow Central just after 5pm, having left in a massive huff at the third goal. So mixed memories. Hopefully 3 points this time and give us the chance to kick on!
  3. Just bought my tickets, really looking forward to a game at Hampden, with a busy crowd, on a Saturday! A rarity indeed. Not a lot of availability left on the ticket site, so would hope that extra sections will get opened up. What kind of crowd do folks think we are looking at?
  4. I would imagine that the games being on the tele, combined with being midweek, will see a drop the crowds across the piece. Does anyone know if there is any financial reward for being a TV 'pick'? I tried to have a look but could not see anything obvious...
  5. *Lewis Vaughan hat-trick gif* But aye, one of these games that could be any score. Both teams would probably take a draw just to stop the rot, but 2 points out of 9 is hardly a good start either... Regardless, I'll be there, pished and desperate for another San Starko humiliation for the Pars!
  6. This last point is giving me the fear. Without Hendry, Spencer is vital to how we like to play through midfield. With him out, I am quite pessimistic. To have any real chance of a win we really need Vaughan back, he always seems to turn it on at San Starko against these c***s. Hope I am wrong but I fear an away win and a buoyant North Stand...
  7. Murder. Deserved to get beat. Tactics were so negative, asked to get beat and were duly taken up on the offer. Early doors but 5 points behind ICT already. Could be a long season… Also, anyone else think Tumilty looks off? Either unfit or carrying a knock or attitude? Playing like a shall of his self, especially last 10 mins he was like a statue.
  8. Looks like he will miss about 4 league games (alongside the cup game). It’s a disaster for the games he is missing for, in terms of how key he is. But thankfully it’s not a long term disaster…
  9. That decision is a shiter for the larger supported teams (although they may get permission). But for us, other than the derby and or the cup game, it is business as usual at Stark's, which is brilliant. Even IF Fife council make more than 5k a no go, 3k gid c***s in the South Stand and 2k shite c***s in the North Stand - compared to where we have been - is going to be brilliant!
  10. I enjoyed the novelty of being in Away end as well. Think it is a much better view aesthetically speaking, getting to see the Main stand box in the corner, and the section of the Railway stand you see closely is much nicer with the seats in it. I wondered if having a crowd at both ends would help us 'sook the ball in' at both ends, and could be useful for when away supports are likely lower than 500 odd. But, at the same time, when shit was hitting the fan on Saturday, I wondered whether having the home crowd up the other end to draw the play forward and also to reduce the nervy reactions to crosses etc. would have helped us calm down a bit. 6 and 2 3's, perhaps.
  11. I went into the ticket buying link and see the South Stand is sold out. I had a piss about for 2 minutes and started adding various numbers of tickets in for the North Stand and Away stand. Looks as if there are between 250-300 Home tickets left and between 50-100 Away tickets. I know the club will be swamped at the moment but it would be good to have a final push this afternoon/evening/tomorrow morning on the social media channels. List the number of tickets sold/ left and try and create a bit of a buzz to shift them. Would be a good bit of momentum to get a 'sell out' on the opening day.
  12. Thanks for the info mate. Absolutely shite, though. Love a burger and a juice to soak of the pints. Can’t see how this can’t be done safely, either. Perhaps opening up the exit gates and having the queue distanced back out the back of the stand if needed? Something! Hopefully this is the last of this shite, however, and the kiosks will be open for the derby.
  13. Ah I see., cheers! Not made it to Starks yet, so unsure what to expect. With the 1m distancing now, anyone know if the food and drink kiosks will be open?
  14. Assuming for season ticket holders it is just sit in your own seat and no reservation etc.?
  15. Do livi have a stream for every game for fans outside the UK? In case I decide to hope to Europe at 7:44pm…
  16. On the crowd, I think that until its not a massive hassle, crowds will be lower than they would be otherwise. For myself yesterday, I was not sure I could go until the day of the game. Went to buy a ticket and the South stand, where my mates were sitting, and it was sold out. So I wasn't going to sit in the North Stand myself. Also, travelling from Glasgow after work on trains meant that I would have relied on getting a scran in the ground, again, not an option. Add to that the staggered timings and sitting in the ground an hour before kick off with no snack bar etc. is not a very appealing prospect. I would be pretty confident crowds will return to 'normal' when crowds are allowed to attend like 'normal'. ETA: I also bought a stream last night - and I imagine a fair few others would have too. So the 'attendance' cash would not be as low as the physical attendees.
  17. Genuinely, I absolutely loved that whole day (so far). Trains. Beers. Watching the Rovers with my pals. Finding an offy for the train back. A quick jar in a local before the train. This is all the shit it’s all about. Feels close to normal… Emotional as f**k. I FUCKING LOVE THE ROVERS ONNNGM!!!
  18. I’m also a wee bit concerned about CM, wide and striker. But… It’s been 497 days since I was at Dumbarton to watch the Rovers lose 1-0 to a 90+ minute goal. I’ve just come over the fourth road bridge on a 6 hour round trip from southside Glasgow to Cowdenbeath. A few cans, trains, watching the Rovers with my pals. Feeling emotional. That’s what really matters. I fucking love the Rovers. COME ON!!
  19. The news about Mathews really is a b*****d. He is the type of player that (barring this kind of strange freak problem) I would see as robust enough to play almost every game. He is so key to our midfield as well. Adds steel, uses the ball pretty well and makes really cutting third man runs beyond the striker (he has scored a fair few goals doing this, and its something once you notice it you see how much of a problem he causes for opposition defensive shapes and how much of an asset it is for creating space in and around the box, even if the pass doesn't come his way). Hoping the solve it quickly, once and for all - him being fit for the majority of the season could make a 2/3 place difference in where we finish.
  20. I know there was a fair deal of frustration at the season ticket price, but am I right in thinking your meaning this has led to a poor uptake (I.e not just verbal frustration?). I did think it strange there hasn’t been a season ticket counter on the Twitter…
  21. Anybody got any insight on how the season ticket sales are doing? Usually there is a 'X number sold' theme on the twitter page, but seems all quiet?
