  1. Cheers, not the best return from Beattie considering Riordan has got 3 goals and a couple of assists in his last 5-6 games, he has been a good signing for City and came in at a critical time and done his bit, just a pity that overhead kick never went from him yesterday
  2. Who were City's top goal scorers for the season ?
  3. Now been pointed out to me. And i did get a hold of a fanzine from last Saturday.
  4. City's MOTM today has to go to the referee, denied beath to good shouts for penalties in the 1st half he also gave them one which was the more doubtful of the three, good save from the keeper, beath should have taken the lead when the ball was laid on a plate for the player to hit the back of the net but sliced it big time, City's goal had a good bit of luck to it but you take it, 2nd half i felt that beath were denied another penalty at the left side of the box, the ref had a shocker to be fair today but it was to City's advantage. Beattie, he battles away, i will give him that, but he isn't much of a goal threat in games, one shot in the 1st half from outside the box that sailed over the bar, infact did City have a shot on target today, the goal doesn't count as it was a cross, 2nd half it was clear to see that he was struggling and looked like he was towing a caravan, he should have been replaced about the 60th minute and fresh legs brought on upfront to go for the 2nd goal and kill the game off, FFS there goalie looked like a young kid (i think he was) and he should have been tested with shots on goal but it didn't happen, City looked like they wanted to hold on to the 1 goal lead and see the game out and it backfired in the last few minutes when beath got the equaliser. To be honest it was a very poor game of football today, pitch didn't help things either, lots of baubles and it looked like it hasn't seen water for a while as it seemed very hard when the bounce balled on it.
  5. Harsh on Riordan considering he has just signed and got 2 goals and 1 assist so far, f*** it, Riordan needs to start the morn before Beattie.
  6. Should start with Allan Beattie & Riordan (if fit) upfront tomorrow, goals win games.
  7. 1st thing i noticed was the amount of folk eating hotdog's rather than pies, so opted for the hotdog, was that good i went back for another one. But to the serious stufff, the game, the 1st half and i really couldn't figure out what the formation was for City, was all over the place, Calum i think will keep his place but will a few others, Beattie is struggling and Allan is doing good runs and getting the ball but there is no one in the box, he has to hold it up while Beattie try's to get in the box, he was playing far to deep on Saturday and not a lot coming of for him, the manager needs to get the right balance in the team and go for it a bit, big game for City this Saturday and i think the manager should revert back to 3-4-3 (think that was the formation) so that City have attacking options upfront. sults against E
  8. Pies, that's it, I'll be up in Montrose tomorrow.
  9. East of Scotland Cup: Spartans and City lock horns in Semi tonight Posted on Tuesday, March 28th, 2017 Spartans go head to head with local rivals Edinburgh City tonight in the semi final of the East of Scotland Cup at Ainslie Park (7.45pm KO). After Saturday’s draw at home v Gala, gaffer Dougie Samuel’s attempts to edge closer to further silverware have been boosted by the return to the squad of Alan Brown, Mikey Herd and Jack Hay. The talismanic Dave Greenhill is in line for a starting berth after his cameo appearance at the weekend. Paul Thomson remains doubtful after receiving a dull one against Gala. City will look to build on their vital win against Elgin that saw Gary Jardine’s men take a step closer to Division 2 survival at the first time of asking. Tonight’s winners will go on to face Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale in the Final. The game will be streamed live as part of a pilot project undertaken by the Lowland League. The stream will be managed by Youth Football Scotland who the league is working with to explore live streaming opportunities. You can watch the match live click on the link below. http://yfs.news/spartanscitystream
  10. Two good goals from both of them, but Lewis goal edges it, was a great finish, and both them getting assists as well, City were denied a stonewall penalty when Beattie was pulled from behind when he hit the post, linesman on that side was blind or bottled it to give the penalty. Think in the end City deserved the win for the hard work they put in at the end of the game, they dug in and came away with the 3 points, thought Riordan was decent for someone who hasn't played much football of late, reads the game well and his passing and crossing was also good, and he managed the 90 minutes.
  11. Now confirmed. http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/edinburgh-city/edinburgh-city-confirm-signing-of-former-hibs-striker-derek-riordan-1-4378316
