  1. Good to see a win but I see a real problem with the way we attack. Any time we broke through St Johnstone lines we then stopped and sideways passed round their box. This is far removed from the hayes/mginn cut to the byline then nice cross. ETA not that it's a bad way to attack but it seems to play into the let us have the ball and do nothing narrative.

  8. Div C, round 12 The_kid1433 defeats LvivKarpaty by checkmate in a match with a total of 17 blunders between us. I tried early doors to build an attack by sacrificing a knight but pretty sure it was seen. Lviv then missed a couple of opertunities to fork my other Knight and Queen and blundered their knight. This let me back in and I was lucky enough to have the more active pieces. Good game. Cheers.   9. Yeah I was feeling the smell for a couple of weeks. Just massive one move blunders several times in a match. An enforced break of a few days seems to have stopped that though. I'm still an absolute entry level player but at least I'm no longer being stupid. Sent from my SM-N970F using Tapatalk

Another one that whilst playing I felt like a genius and had thought through setting up the situation in the corner of the board the mate came from.   12. Div C, round 10 The_kid1433 defeats paakman01 by checkmate. Fell quite lucky to get that one. I was slowly being suffocated of options then a blunder by paakman01 that gave up both knights opened the whole board for my pieces. Good game.
  13. Thanks very much for the game. I feel like a few days off has refreshed me a little. Game started off with quite a few book moves and felt quite tight from my perspective untill I got my rooks and Queen on the centre files. Feels good to finally stop rot.

  16. Thanks mate. Yup I enjoyed that one. The rooks kept me with some options but you just kept the pressure on my king to stop me getting any attack going. Good game.

  18. Div C round 3 LvivKarpaty beats the kid by resignation. Was really hanging on for most of the game and when I blundered the rook I went in a big huff.

To start with for a 10k the intervals there is a few routes you could go down. 400m effort, 200m/400m recovery x 8 reps 400m effort, equal time rest/1:30 rest x 8 reps Then start increasing reps, then doing maby 6 x 800m, increasing 800m reps, then 1ks etc Another one good for flat out speed is 15 second sprint, 15 second rest continuously for 8 min then take a few minutes then do it again for a total of 3 sets. The key with intervals is not to get too hung up on analysing it. A lot of people use pace formulas such as race pace minus 10 seconds but I think thats taking it a bit too seriously and an easy excuse in the back of your head for going slower. Intervals are meant to hurt and as long as your heart rate is sky high for at least 1:30miniutish+ you will get benifit. As For fueling a decent health breakfast should be all you need for s 10k. Half marathon depending on your goal time, under 2 hrs and I wouldn't bother with food and I would imagine water points would be set out. So you don't need to take the extra weight.
