  1. I've not followed the streaming debate closely so this may have been covered elsewhere, but given the policing and stewarding costs to host a game, how many pay per view purchases would the club need to sell to equal the matchday revenue of say a crowd of 2000 in the normal world, plus the lost revenue from hospitality.

We do seem to have loads of exiles dotted around the world that I'm sure would sign up to a PPV deal.

I was over there for a game a couple of years back - it's a tidy wee ground with a lovely view. Nice city too.

Hope it goes ahead for you.

Just bought a ticket for Saturday. They said that last night's FA Cup game had a "largely favourable" review from the Police but a couple of issues were identified which means the capacity has been reduced further. They won on penalties last night, the bedlam that probably followed might have been the "issue"!

The thing that beggars belief in the whole crowds in stadiums debate is that in England their are clubs that have fairly decent gates allowing fans in (or were up to yesterday) while we haven't even started back yet.

My local club is Tamworth and they played in the FA cup qualifiers yesterday in front of about 400 fans, lower than their average gates (600 to 1000 range) but still fairly big considering. It was their first competitive home game and cant see the attendance at their home friendlies, but for a ground that is smaller that Somerset (I would say its similar size to Stair Park in Stranraer, smaller stand but bigger terrance).

I wasn't there so cant comment on socially distancing etc, although that is probably what is causing the rise in cases!!!

I'm planning to go to Lancaster City this Saturday, just waiting to see if it goes ahead with fans. They usually sell tickets online and have quite a good video showing how the Covid rules operate within the ground.

  4. Given we've sold around 350-400 season tickets and corporate sponsorship is likely to be much lower this season I'm surprised we're still full time. That goes for most of the Championship clubs.

Sponsorship is going to be an extremely hard sell if at any time during the season the curtain could be pulled down by those that think they know best.

Sept 14th get a friendly arranged (Creetown anyone?) at Somerset and let the good times begin!

*yes I know none of this will happen

followed by a party at big Jamie's house. Oh wait...

Personally I'm 50/50 on what comes first - the football or no longer having to WFH. Getting cabin fever.
