Not so sure about Campbell as MOTM as Campbell put Bo'ness under a lot of pressure when he gave away the penalty, from what we could see it looked like a stone waller and speaking to a couple of the players afterwards they also thought it was a stone waller, there was no need for Ross to attempt any challenge the player was going away from goal towards the edge of the 18 yard box all Ross had to do was jockey the guy. After the penalty I thought Newtongrange were the better side and looked more likely to win it in 90 minutes, Bo'ness brought on Josh MacDonald at the start of extra time and moved Dev into the middle of the park, which gave Bo'ness a better balance, in extra time Bo'ness for me looked the team more likely to win. The penalties couldn't have started worse for Bo'ness as Newtongrange scored their first and Marty Wrights opener landed in Bonnyrigg!! Some well taken penalties after that from both sides and a couple of decent saves by Murphy allowed Campbell the opportunity to redeem himself for his first half f@ck up, low and behold Campbell takes a penalty any centre forward would be proud of and Bo'ness sneak through by the skin of their teeth! Arsehole of the night must go to the Newtongrange number 4, acted like an absolute tadger after his penalty then again after Bo'ness won the penalty shoot out! My MOTM was Syme, who I thought had one of his best games in a Bo'ness shirt last night was solid all night and contributed going forward with no cover from the man playing directly in front of him.

Since the drubbing at Tranent, I think some credit has to go to the new manager regarding how much more organised the team has looked.

Max Christie needs to be given the chance now to move the team on. Of the current squad there is the nucleus of a good squad in my opinion. Who should stay to make a squad that will compete next season?

I believe that there is a decent squad at Bo’ness, for me they lack an out and out finisher as they create a lot of chances but fail to convert.

Can’t argue much with that, Comrie in my opinion shouldn’t have been subbed in either of the last two games, Ryan was poor yesterday even in the first half when the rest were playing well. The week before Comrie was taken off and Ryan moved into Comrie’s position and immediately BU looked weaker. I do think yesterday was a freak result as at halftime no one at the game, no matter if they were BU or Tranent minded would have saw that coming. Bo’ness should have been out of site at halftime, poor finishing was the initial problem, then second half they collapsed after Symes mistake then the deflection off Donnelly.

First half Bo’ness were by far the better side, didn’t take any of numerous chances. Second half Syme’s poor pass back gave Tranent their first after that Bo’ness fell apart!

First half was piss poor, second half was poor! Can’t for the life of me think why Dev was dropped from right back for MacDonald? Bo’ness were slightly better second half after Tiwi was replaced by Alan at half time!

It highlights you omitted facts when you gave your stats, you also ignored the Donnelly incident but keep in why you say was a penalty to Dunipace, had they got the penalty it might only have been 5-1, had Gemmell been awarded the free kick there would have been no penalty incident. It is understandable that you give a one sided view as you are after all a Dunipace supporter.

You fail to mention Gemmel being fouled in the lead up to Dunipace second goal or Donnelly being pushed which in the Dunipace box in front of the ref which should have been a penalty. You say BU only hit woodwork once when they had two off the woodwork. Have you only watched the game partially? The stats you have given are not fact as you have omitted certainly an effort off the post and the penalty Donnelly should have received. Also you say Dunipace should have had a penalty without mentioning the player that goes through Gemmell prior. On the balance of play 7 or 8-2 would have been a truer reflection of the game, you were also wrong to assume I’m a Bo’ness fan.

The booking in the first minute happened right next to us and I have absolutely no doubt it was no more than a booking! I don’t know what Bo’ness players you spoke to but the ones I have spoken to had the same opinion as myself that 5-2 was far less than it could have been, 2 off the wood work a couple of decent saves and numerous other chances not taken by Bo’ness. Dunipace kicked Tiwi endlessly throughout the game as they couldn’t handle his pace. The referee books a Bo’ness player for kicking the ball away, at 1-1 twice Dunipace players kick the ball away and no action taken.

The only thing the ref got right all day was the booking in the first minute, it was a booking and no more! Boness best player was the Dunipace keeper who was absolutely rank rotten!

Ref had a stinker, red for Sauchie was never a red, neither was Morgans. Garbage for both sides.
