Surely your technical director/director of football handles transfers while the manager is on holiday?
Who is that like?

This day last season we announced the triple signing of Oliver, McGinn and Mackie. Donaldson and Henderson were signed the end of May.
Hopefully, the less urgency this year means we’ve identified a better quality of player.
Don't know why folk keep bringing signings up this week. We know Mcglynn is on holiday. As is a lot of the players. Both ours and others.
Need to bear in mind also the season finished a lot earlier last year as well, we had our last game on the 30th April, even the Champions league final was in May. So not a great comparison

I agree, can't see 5ft 11 though.
He is 1.74m according to trnsfrmrkt

5'11 is a good height for a full back
He's only 5 ft 8 according to a quick Google.
Mccann 5ft 7

When has a player ever had a contract with a clause which meant they decided to extend it
Probably if they have fulfilled the clause I.e. Appearances etc and the club says well you have activated your extension due to your contract and we are obliged to ask if you want to take it up?
Happened with baird and he said no.

Is @HopeStreetWalker a troll or genuinely thick?
He just hates the council, blames them for everything, their fault when Robbie left take that.
Anyway, @Chinatoon Bairn what's the second part of your riddle? Best of both worlds.....?

Do you remember when we were relegated to League One? One of the pivotal moments that sent us down came at Palmerston. We were winning the game and had we done so we'd have climbed out of the relegation zone and gone above QOTS for the first time all season.
We ending up drawing, because of what I thought was a blatant dive by Lyndon Dykes.
Lyndon Dykes, who scored 10 goals in 86 appearances for QOTS. Roughly one goal in 9 games
A far worse record than MacIver scoring 6 goals in 30 for Alloa, or one goal every 5 games.
I think you'ld agree that Dykes has done pretty well for himself since then.
Would you care to guess how old he was when scored that goal? Six months short of 24.
Dykes managed to improve to be more than good enough. I'm willing to give MacIver the chance to do the same. Maybe you should too.
BB dishing out the telts, you love to see it

Interesting that the statement doesn’t say the title is the only acceptable outcome. That indicates to me that he will not be sacked even if we’re sitting in say 3rd place come November.
Wow!!! I mean I know you like to spin things but c'mon.
It also says anything other than promotion is unacceptable, which is clear they won't stand for more of the same as this season just gone past.

I would be so excited to get Declan McManus back but we couldn't afford him now. Now that Dundee United will go down, do you think we have a chance at bringing Sibbald home?
No, he has another year left on his contract.
Could mcgloves be a serious thought though? Not sure of family situation if settled down south or not.

I personally would be quite pleased to see Morrison stay although I can accept some don't see it that way
Think he will be away, would like to keep him, but would be glad of the money, prefer it to be an English club as will stump up more than say a relegated Kilmarnock

One in one out?

I think even hearts might be sniffing about him, especially if naismith gets the gig now snodgrass isn't there. Can see snodgrass going to livi rather than Arfield

@18BAIRN76 and I's comments were quite clearly jokes. Only @badgerthewitness was calling you stupid

f**k up ya wallops, full of misery you lot. Was just a light hearted suggestion. Honest to god this place is the pits sometimes.

How long does sibbald have left on his contract? May be more realistic to get him back if he is free.
Hoping for an English team to chuck stupid money at signing Morrison and then just use the lot to bring Arfield home..... Its the hope that kills you but it's nice to get a little excited.

I am actually terrified about what he is going to do in terms of recruitment. McGinn is well and truly done. Donaldson is as unpredictable as anyone else. His only success has been Henderson
What's this shite as well.
McGinn Was one of the best players on the park in the semi, definitely not well and truly done, probably relied on too much over the course of the whole season.
What about other players he brought in? Kennedy, Max, lawal, hogarth, alegria, Rowe, even Meekison Was seen as decent acquisition at the time.
I don't understand the 2 year for nesbitt, I also don't understand how he made team of the year, some obviously see something in him.
Mccann was like a new signing as well.
Certainly not terrified about his recruitment.
Agyeman signed already as well is also a positive.

Change the record man FFS. You have posted that same 9 paragraph retort over and over again.

Seems strange timing going full time on the way down instead of on the way up. Won't be cheap matching part-time players total incomes.
Was thinking the same. Are they rewarding current players that got them relegated with full time contracts?

Goals conceded PER GAME
We effectively conceded 23 over a 36 game season. The Pats conceded 21 this year and Rangers conceded 18.
Partick and Cove also conceded only 18 in 20/21 but only played 22 games, so they had a worse defence than we did the previous year.
Na it's 8 games, not one or 2. How the hell can you say we effectively conceded 23 over a 36 game period. Far too many variables in an 8 game time frame to suggest the trend would stay the same.
Good try though Mr Durnan

The best 3 league one defences in the past decade by goals conceded per game:
1. Rangers 2013-14 (won league by 39 points)
2. Dunfermline 2022-23 (won league by 14 points)
3. Falkirk 2019-2020 (lost by 0.03 PPG after league was cancelled)
Absolutely laughable that people are turning their nose up at that defence.
And that we played 8 games less than the other 2 teams mentioned surely factors. Are you suggesting we would have kept 8 clean sheets in a row for the last games? I'd suggest the quality of the other teams in that league also played a part in your stats, not our defence.

I wonder how our season might have panned out if we hadn't lost Alegria and Meekison. I was excited by the latter joining us, shame it was cut so short with that injury and Juan was certainly coming onto a game.

Your point was that this time last year we had made that triple singing and because we haven't by this time this year we must be delaying it. That was 6 weeks after our last game of the season. Today's date is only 4 weeks after our last game. Just give a wee bit time.
I know I wouldn't want bothered by my work when I'm on holiday. Happy to revisit this post in a couple of weeks with egg on my face though.
