You could swing it another way. Do you think they’d ever say no to Haughey or Dempster?

Was visiting my sister in Mt Flo yesterday and we walked up Letherby Drive past Lesser, and low and behold outside Lesser there was a silver car with the reg no WH7, the President's car and Ms Dempste'rs car parked outside. There was obviously a meeting going on. Were they deciding how to spend the compensation from Ajax?

    You do realise that;

    1) We're able to sign players based on who our manager is.  i.e not some no mark Dutchman who will be forgotten about as soon as he's emptied from your club.

    2) He may not have even been our your radar.  i.e a 33 year old who's just come back from a horrific injury.  Going by your squad and your signings in the pasts 12 months, he doesn't exactly fit the profile.

You are right in what you say re 1), however we signed Simon Murry who was just coming home to Scotland after a very bad injury and on that basis, the boy David fits the profile. You are very lucky to have him and I wish him well with you, although not against us, but I think that on the 9th he may make all the difference between our two teams.

If only Veldman had the integrity of Dick Campbell.

If only we had signed the boy David, strenthened our midfield capability and brought his experience to our team. He scored another goal yesterday, that is 4 since he joined Inverness and I don't think that they have lost a game since he signed. He lives in Edinburgh which is 45 minutes from Glasgow. Come on Committee did we try to sign him?

I’m not swapping Wotherspoon for Spong at all. There’s an argument for Turner but the last month, he’s really showing us what he’s about now and knows where the back of the net is. Longridge, I’d swap but realistically our starting midfield consists of spong, Thomson and turner. Thomson if he had an ounce of composure in the final third would be in the Scottish premiership by now

Yes, and then  there is the injuries question, that Anonymous Spider quite rightly talks about. We are all entitled to our views on this matter. We shall see what happens on the 9th December and who comes out on top in the midfield that day.

If there's any Prem managers on a shoogly peg we might want to keep an eye on, I'd suggest Kettlewell... but for the record, I'm still on the RV bus.

I disagree with some earlier chat though. If we're still struggling when the window opens, I wouldn't be massively surprised if there's a couple of additions to the squad.

We have already missed out, on a midfield internantional ,who has signed on a free for Inverness, who would have strenthened our midfield and has scored 3 goals, 2 of them on Saturdy. Did we even try to sign him? Can you tell us Zanetti? Your ear always seems to be close to what is going on at Lesser and do you or anyone else out there think that the boy David would have been a good signing for us? Our am I the only one?

I agree with your post, but the management team have assembled the toolbox. The quality and experience of the Raith bench compared to ours is quite important.

You are right regarding the experience on the Raith bench. I go back to what I said about 4 to 5 weeks ago about an international midfielder who was available to sign for free, David Wotherson who went on to sign for Inverness. He scored 2 goals for them on Saturday. Did we try and sign him?

Not a great set of results today with Morton and Inverness both winning. Sharpens the mind a bit about turning draws into wins.  Good thing is the league is still tight. The bad thing is the league is still tight!  Here's hoping there are more favourable results on Tuesday and that we pick up points at Somerset Park.

Yes, and who scored the Inverness goal? My my, it was David Wotherspoon, whom I suggested we should have signed, somebody who is a very experienced midfielder.

Possibly worth adding that the mood in the support last night was very positive and the despondency of recent weeks was replaced by a fair bit of enthusiasm.

I thought so as well. I am however, suprised nobody has taken up my comment ,re an International midfield player, David Wotherson who was avilable to be signed, for free, and would have strengthend our midfield to no end. Are we that good that we do not need experience?

And let's not forget our Academy which was awarded Elite status. One of only two in the Championship. Club Academy Scotland | Performance| Scottish FA

That is great and the youths are doing well. However,  re the first team, Inverness have just signed a very experienced midfielder in David Wotherspoon who was available on a free transfer. Why did we not go for him and strengthen our midfield, which is sadly lacking at the moment?

I honestly don't see how a 3-4-3 would help at the moment, hear me out.

I have a lot of time for Charlie Fox and I think there is a decent defender in there, but he's inconsistent, prone to switching off and if last season showed anything when he's the 'senior' CB of the pairing, QP struggle, he only really kicked on when alongside Kilday last year.

Added to that the fact Veldman obviously doesn't rate/trust Bannon or Reid you then end up with a Tizzard, Fox and inevitably Thomson at the back and until Savoury is available we just don't have the squad depth not to have Thomson's energy in midfield.

Disagree, I think a back three of Tizzard, Bannon and Fox would do the job. Fox cannot play as bad again, Bannon has the ability and pace and Tizzard is the man for the right and side.

Quite correct  Ben Reilly but the President dodged it by saying it was down to Marketing to sort it out with the SFA. Not buying that for a second on the basis of a) precedent set at last season's games and b) the Millennium Lounge will be the new Royal Box and Riff Raff won't get near it, just as it works for Scotland games. And as for hospitality, again precedent set at Lesser where the Fans-For-A-Day get the best seats. I'd have a punt at them getting section O2 of the centre stand, next to the commoners but with a comfy seat.

Just back from to weeks holidays and have been having lunch with my sister who lives in Summerville Drive and I have just noticed the rebranding of Lesser. I have no problem with the City sign if it is bringing in sponsorship but the sign for the McAlpine has been taken down, why? I understand that the McAlpine family donated £100,000 to the building of it, surely we are not thumbing our noses at them!!!!!

I wouldn't rule out the possibility that we were never really interested in the first place. The outrage generates a lot of clicks though.

If this Conference league proposal does not go through, then there is a suggestion that the SPFL will form a league 5 with B teams and have a division of 10 teams by inviting in either 4/5 teams from the central belt to make up the numbers. B teams would not be able for promotion and the highest placed of the other teams would playoff against the bottom team in league 2. There would be no relegation and no £100k to pay.

I’ve studied the goals this morning. We lost four of them by allowing Dundee players to run from midfield into central scoring areas. First phase defending was okay but second phase support was poor, mostly due to midfielders.

The whole defensive set up has been ropey all season, just that earlier we were scoring regularly to mask the problem. Once the goals dried up it’s highlighted the defence. Also helps a defence greatly if the frontline can keep the ball up their end for a bit.

We must sign an experienced centre back and I would go for the Morton No5 Baird who I think is the best in this position in the league. We must also sign a striker who will score goals on a regular basis like the guy at Ayr. I am sure that both are available for the right money. Not sure where we can get a good midfielder to play alongside Thomson though!!
