  1. Cheers for that. I very much doubt we will manage to get tickets together but he’s old enough to sit elsewhere. I am hopeful he will drive me through if he gets a ticket.
  2. Does anyone know how it works if I get the chance to buy tickets on Wednesday. I already have a couple for me and my youngest son as part of the 4 match package. We are both SFA supporters club members. My older son is looking to go if he can get a ticket. I have said I will try at 10am tomorrow as he will be at work. Will I be able to buy them through my account?
  3. Everyone on the pitch could make a mistake and in a lot of instances another player can cover for it except the Keeper. I remember my sons team had two keepers and one of them was hopeless but due to the rules had to have game time. I recall one game when he came on with 20 minutes to go when the team was winning and you could see the defences heads drop knowing that they didn’t have the back up behind them again any more. I am sure they lost the game.
  4. I was more having a go at the costs of going up to Aberdeen for a match. Added to the fact that my kids have chosen to support their local team, so the short trip to Kelty had more appeal this weekend.
  5. They would only find someone else just as obnoxious to be there leader. The sooner we are away from this clusterf**k that is Westminster the better.
  6. That’s it The revolution starts now, better man the barricades!
  7. I am exactly the same myself. In my younger days I would rarely miss a game home or away. However I find it hard to get the enthusiasm and in the current financial climate the justification to spend money travelling from Fife for a game. I am however in the lucky work position that I support an autistic guy who also follows the Dons and I get to take him to a couple of games a season. But apart from that I can’t remember when I paid to go to a league match at Pittodrie, any other recent visits have been cup games or European matches when prices have been reduced. This weekend I will be taking in the Kelty v Pars game as it’s only £18.
  8. I work with Scottish Autism, I mainly support adults who live in their own homes but the organisation deals with all ages. I know we have a helpline that you can call if you would like some general advice.
  9. I don’t know if this has been mentioned elsewhere but 5 Live are binning the classified results round up. Those of us old enough to remember the pre smartphone days will mourn what used to be a must listen every weekend to check the other results of the day. As someone who also worked overseas for a while I used to figure out the time difference to the UK and get my short wave radio tuned to the World Service to check the results. The signal always seemed to fade out just as it came to The Dons score.
  10. Back to energy prices. I look after an autistic guy who lives in his own home and has 24/7 support. He received an email from his energy provider yesterday offering him a fixed price tariff which based on current usage would be around £5.5k pa. If he stays on the standard tariff it would be around £3.3k. This makes me wonder how much they are expecting to be increase their prices in the near future?
  11. I remember when The Pars were last in the seaside league, Stenhousemuir had a deal that visiting season ticket holders got in for a reduced amount (it may have been £10)and juniors got in free. Why more clubs don’t do this I don’t know. The visiting fans are still likely to spend at the pie stall or buy a programme and I know it certainly encouraged me to go along.
  12. I thought I would catch up on the commonwealth games on TV to get away from all the euros hype. think again.
  13. Let’s look at the positives. This now puts pressure on their mens team to do something in Qatar and we all know that they never fail to disappoint on the big stage!
  14. Is this Monday not the traditional Scottish August Bank anyway? It was always the first Monday in August when I was younger.
  15. It will be now, my English Mrs has just announced that ‘we should be home in time to watch the game on Sunday ’ Come on France/Germany(delete as appropriate after tomorrow)
  16. They would be quite enjoyable to watch if we didn’t have to watch it on the equivalent of England Fans TV. I am just glad I am away camping over the weekend.
  17. I saw this article on the BBC website today. Personally once the walk up price goes over £20 it puts me off going along. I used to have a season ticket for my local team when my kids were younger but a change of shifts to working more weekends made that uneconomical added to the fact they now go with their pals to the games. I also found that during Covid, once you get out of the habit of going it can sometimes be difficult to get the enthusiasm back again. Do other fans feel the same?
  18. I may be in a minority on here but I still like OTB. It’s probably due to my age. I normally only listen to the podcast version and it’s certainly not something I listen to for it’s football analysis or content. If I want that I will listen to The Terrace.
  19. You know what would happen if they left to join a European league. Why do you think they were so keen to get their B teams in the Lowland League.
  20. I listened to that and have to admit I was a bit underwhelmed by Starmer. I didn’t hear anything from him that would make me want to vote Labour apart from the fact that the other option(UK wise) is much worse. They also talked about another Indy Ref on their most recent Podcast and more or less dismissed it saying that very few in Scotland actually wanted one totally disregarding the fact it was in the SNP manifesto and the Tories only message prior to the election was to vote for them in order to stop a referendum!
  21. With her great grasp of Geography, should the residents of a wee Fife village in the shadow of East Lomond hill be expecting a task force coming to liberate them any time soon?
  22. Don’t be going and giving FIFA any ideas now!
  23. Is the new Palace 3rd kit going for the ‘staunch’ market. it’s a shame they didn’t release it on Tuesday last week.
  24. Sorry my sarcastic tone didn’t translate to well into print. some of the parody accounts on twitter at the moment are excellent and it’s fun seeing the comments of the people who think it’s genuine. However it shows the state of politics in the UK that it is sometimes very difficult to tell what’s real and what isn’t. Look at who could become the 3rd ever female PM! Please tell me that I am actually in a comma and this is all just a dream of the next series of ‘The Thick of it. ‘
  25. I wouldn’t mind watching England if it wasn’t for the commentary that we have to put up with it. A neutral commentary option would make it much more bearable. I understand that they want them to win and we would probably be the same if Scotland were playing but there is little or no balanced coverage. It’s like watching a Dons game at Ibrox on Rangers TV. I feel for you down in Englandshire with all that ‘coming home’ pish you will have to put up with now. If it’s any consolation my English wife who has previously been moaning at me watching the games has now suddenly taken an interest in it!
