  1. I am fully in favour of playing the season to a completion whenever that may be.
  2. I agree, whenever we get back then play it to a finish, no matter if squads have changed a bit. If this seasons games are done by, say the end of September or October then have a couple of weeks off to reset, make fixture list etc then play each other twice or, if there is time, 3 times. At the very least it might just show teams and the league that if we don’t play each other 4 times a season crowds might increase. A short season could be quite exciting as well.
  3. Arbroath 13th in top flight in 1973/74 were part time. Montrose 3rd in second flight in 1975/76 which was 13th in Scotland. There must have been a part time team in top flight since then, surely!!
  4. Still doing a job for Harrogate Town second top in the National League.
  5. Last league game before this season was 6th May 1979 in Division one. This was a 14 team second tier when each team played each other 3 times. Arbroath won 2-0 at Dens. There’s been 2 league cup and 2 challenge cup games since then and the league game earlier this season. The 79 game was the last time Arbroath beat Dundee. Dundee won the league and got promoted, Arbroath were 10th. This was the last game of the season and Dundee’s only home defeat.
  6. He took it last week. Vast improvement after McKenna and Goldie came on last week.
  7. This season just finished saw us break some records for the club. 17 league games unbeaten from the start of the season is easily our best ever and is also our best ever run of league games without defeat. 70 points equals our best ever actual points total, although if there were 3 points for a win in 1966/67 we’d have got 82 points, ironically finishing 3rd and missing out on promotion. 6 losses equals our lowest number of league defeats in a season. The run of 8 league wins in a row came close but fell short of the 9 wins in a row we got in 1967/68, when we did get promoted to the top flight. And, if you ignore the season after the Second World War which was not a full league (so I don’t count it as the official league) then Omar scored our 3000th home league goal netting our first v Stenny on 1st December. All in all, not a bad season.
  8. Update to a post I did a couple of weeks ago. As far as I can see our previous best unbeaten start to a season was 1989/90 when we went 9 games unbeaten from the start. So we’ve destroyed that. Our best run in the league without defeat is 15 games. We did that in 2000/01. We also went 15 games without defeat in 1952/53 then lost 7 of our next 8 games! In 1967/68 we won 9 games in a row and had the equivalent of 41 pts from the first 17 games.
  9. Somebody asked a couple of weeks ago if this was our best start to a season. As far as I can see our previous best unbeaten start to a season was 1989/90 when we went 9 games unbeaten from the start. So we’ve bettered that. Our best run in the league without defeat is 15 games. We did that in 2000/01. We also went 15 games without defeat in 1952/53 then lost 7 of our next 8 games. In 1967/68 we won 9 games in a row and had the equivalent of 41 pts from the first 17 games. Our best points total from the start of a season (assuming 3 Pts for a win) is 27 from the first ten games in 2014/15 then we lost the next 2 so after 11 games we’ve equalled that. 27 is also the best from 12 games from the same season. That was the year we had a meltdown in the second half of the season. Hopefully we can better that 12 game points total this weekend.
  10. Pretty Poor 0-0, Josh barely touched the ball and then went off injured. His team are doing well though.
  11. Josh Falkinghams team, Harrogate, live on BT Sport at 17:15 today. Newly promoted to the National League and have started well with Josh still wearing the number 4. 🤩
  12. Yes. Don't know if it is him but that's who he reminded me of. Cracking player.
  13. Looks a bit like Alan Mackenzie standing 3rd in from left I think. (not including you know who!)
  14. Can anyone help. 1. Is the shop open at the ground tomorrow? 2. What time does it open. 3. I can't find a link to what is in the shop at the moment. Official site takes me to the Pendle shop only.
  15. Loads of the squad deserve massive credit for the season but Skelly deserves a mention too. His goals early in the season won us some vital points before Stevie D and Ryan McCord got going. All the best Josh.
  16. Correct. Stuff all that. Cmon the Lichties. Saturday, train booked, can't wait, excited, nervous. Hope the majority of this squad is signing for next season too.
  17. Derek Rylance also scored an o.g. in that game v Celtic. Great player.
