  1. there is that, and as for the league, you'd think McBookie might chuck in a free tenner at least for taking part
  2. Yip, if they go the Holy Grail will soon become the West v whats left of the East
  3. Am I right in thinking that some teams had games off in the first 3/4 months of the season, summer football won't fix poor pitches.
  4. Certainly puts the cat amongst the pigeons, I’m sure no West club will want to the last to go especially if the EOS launch an WOS this season.
  5. Having looked at the travel distances West teams would only be traveling 100 miles more to join the EoS rather than the SoS, with better roads to the east it works out the same travel time, wonder if a west team might turn up in the EoS, the central teams would have about half the travel time as Ayrshire teams
  6. The buses were cancelled due to the cold weather and the game likely being off, in fairness Talbot didn’t have much more
  7. Other than a picture of the pyramid that’s it
  8. It was the player pathway I was referring to, players should pass through Junior clubs on the way up so we arnt just a net to catch them on the way down.
  9. Looks like plans are under way for a West of Scotland league that mirrors the South
  10. We requested a fixture for the 23rd and didnt get one and now been denied two match permits for friendlies, we've Santa coming up for the kids and had planned on making a day of it for the community but the West Region put the boot into that. Maybe the pyramid is the way forward
  11. As I said “stay the same” the SFA aren’t making any moves to integrate the Juniors, the SJFA laughed it off at the AGM, although the West Region AGM did mention that it was coming, sooner rather than later. It takes 3 years to get a change made to the SFA website, now long do you think it’ll take for the pyramid to be changed
  12. They did play their Ardagh games this season at Home
  13. Since October we’ve had 5 league games called off, we’ve only played 9, one call off due to Scottish tie. Its not rocket science to play an outdoor sport when the weathers better. Its easier to water a park in the summer than thaw it in the winter. This thread is called “What’s the future?” Going by most of the comments is the thread is it to just leave it the way it is and hope it’ll turn round by its self? We’re now looking forward to 5 Home games in January
  14. Lots of calls for Summer football, Irvine Vics manager in the Irvine Herald mentioning it. Is that the one main thing that could change this game? Also that would bring in 12 weeks of the ability to play Friday night matches, having lived in Dublin and attending League of Ireland matches on a Friday and then making a night of it and still having the weekend for the family and "big team" football was great. It runs into to issues with the big Scottish Cup, however not many junior clubs have made it past xmas in that cup. Worth a thought? And I looked at the holidays of the Buffs players and more went on holiday in Sept than June, and April and Octo are more popular holiday times than they used to be.
  15. To build even closer links to communities they could Raffle the sponsorship so local companies have the chance to be the proud sponsor of the competition, and it could be something clubs sold, we have nearly 40 new trackside sponsors this year, I’m sure the 158 junior clubs could get 3 local sponsors at £100 each to enter, easy £50k and one happy camper at the end
  16. The near future certainly isn’t in the current pyramid structure, and leaving doesn’t help the rest, why not make the product that’s already there better. Better Fan Interaction - Central news, video and information portal - Live Saturday online show like SportsCentre, distributes on social media channels - Player performance charts, league top scorers, player of the week, team of the week Better Locality Integration - Junior Football Day, like recordstoreday, non league football day, every club makes a full day of it. - Rewards for teams that have players from their town in the team Funding it all - Create a Scottish Juniors lottery That’s the easy ones, leaving isn’t going to help I should add these are my personal views
  17. I could see some teams forming a breakaway league that became the west league in the pyramid and if those teams are mostly top teams then I'm sure the rest would follow
  18. Buffs haven't been in the same league as the Medda for as long, the local derby is a point, but clubs have to look to the future, this season we've had Saltcoats pull out of the Scottish tie and 6 away games in a row, the second rule in the rule book is to Foster and Develop the Junior game, or something like that, no major sponsor, no fixtures, the leagues in decline, whilst clubs want to secure there future in a safe and organised league.
  19. With no Scottish Cup Sponsor and no fixture lists there will be clubs looking to go for SFA membership in the next few seasons. Looking at Kelty with their full list of fixtures does make you realise how poorly organised the west juniors are. This is something talked about almost ever week at the Buffs committee meetings and discussed with visiting committees, something will happen
