  1. Very pleasing past 2 games for the Habs Especially against 2 division rivals in Buffalo and then Ottawa last night. The win against the Sens last night was good after being 3-1 down to show that kind of fightback and good to see Plekanec get on the board for us. Sits us in a decend position this early on in the season just a point behind the high flying Leafs so far but long way to go, but its crucial we beat our division rivals along the way however Boston beating the Devils wasnt great though. Good wins also for the Islanders and Flames last night too.
  2. Couldnt have done it to a better person. He should be given that amount rather than being fined that amount As for the Habs we lost our home opener this morning in OT to Tampa, not great to lose your home opener but at least get a point out of it. Just finished watching the Anaheim vs Vancouver game and the Ducks came back to win 4-3, caused Luongo a fair few problems in goal to win their first match.
  3. Theres not many matches where Colton Orr isnt in a fight As for the Habs well losing to the Leafs at the ACC wasn't exactly a great start to the season but at least we pushed them right to the very end. Good win away against the Pens though with Camallieri getting a brace, good to see him starting the season the way he ended last season in the playoffs. Very long season to go though.
  4. In the NRL final today St George Illawarra Dragons beat Sydney Roosters to record their first premiership since the St George and Illawarra merger. Roosters just capitulated in the second half about the 50th minute and just got steamrolled. I do think the Roosters will be there or thereabouts next season again though if they keep roughly the same squad.
  5. There was a girl in my class at school who came away with a couple of good ones. After reading MacBeth this girl in my class during the class discussion starts going on about how her gran is from Scotland and that means she is half Scottish and all this malarky and then my teacher started talking about how he went to Scotland for a holiday a couple of years ago to which the girl replies "Is Scotland still a country?" Another one is when one of my classmates was absent and the teacher asked us where he was and we told him he was over in India visiting his dad who works for a telecommunications company over there and then the same girl says "Hold on. They have phones in India?"
  6. You will probably find it would be two different experimental sides for the two games to see their full list get some ice time. As for the Habs we havent had a great pre-season so far, even got booed off the ice by our own fans.
  7. I wanted them to but unfortunately just edged out by St George, hopefully Roosters come up trumps now.
  8. If Scotland are playing Samoa up at Pittodrie the Samoans will freeze their bollocks off up there! We play the All-Blacks again tonight across the ditch in Christchurch. After getting fairly humped last weekend I cant see nothing but another drubbing again this time and the kiwis to wrap up this tri-series along with the bledisloe cup.
  9. Yeah there were rumours floating around but the team flies out to Auckland at 4pm today.
  10. Got to love the people up in NSW blinkered view of this News Ltd put these guys in charge so they are to blame. News Ltd own us and own 50% of the NRL, and they are trying to say they knew nothing Conflict of interest too, and doing nothing at all to help us. I would say that Gallop and co. who dont want us in the NRL have made it clear to News Ltd to back the NRL stance. Funny also when some of the guys who were on our board back then are now at other clubs such as the Sydney Roosters and the NRL say they will not investigate the Roosters, strange that dont you think NRL know fine that most of the other clubs have been salary cap cheating, Waldron told them years ago but nothing was done to any of the NSW or QLD clubs so instead they investigate us, they would rather turn a blind eye up north. I bet the paper shredders were in full force at all the clubs up north when we got found out
  11. Bakkies has always been a bit like that, shocking headbutt though. I think this is NZ's tri-series to lose, they have the best team firing at the right time. Over here the NRL along with News Ltd have discovered we have breached the salary cap by more than the $1.1mill they thought but instead $3.17mill. Gallop is apparently trying hard to make it impossible for us to re-sign any of our players The sooner News Ltd sell their share in Melbourne and Gallop leaves the NRL the better. Also looks like Hoffman will be going with Lima and Finch to the English super league next season possibly with Wigan.
  12. Yet another win for the maroons last night in the state of origin The first clean-sweep in quite a while too. Good to see NSW actually but up more of a challenge and some fight in them to make it quite an interesting match, never knew what way it was going to turn. Lockyers drop goal from the middle of nowhere just shows what a class player he is! Can NSW stop them making it 6 straight next season?
  13. QLD are just too good for NSW. The cockroaches have alot more depth in talent but just dont know how to put it together when it matters most. Hopefully QLD go on to clean sweep it. There have been a few punch on's in the past couple of years obviously not as much as back in the 80's etc but we had a big one against St George last season at the graveyard and only like 2 weeks ago in the toyota cup match between North Queensland and Manly up at Dairy Farmers there was a big all-in brawl. As Reg Reagan said "bring back the biff"
  14. Good win for us last night over the poms in Perth, not a good night for English sport Also well done to Scotland beating Argentina.
  15. Congratulations Blackhawks, deserved winners in the end. Hossa will be a relieved man.
  16. Good win for the maroons in Sydney. Jonathan Thurston had a great game after a very dodgy first 10 minutes. Someone should really have given big Gus an umbrella or a poncho when he was standing drenched in the rain doing his talk for the cameras before the game
  17. Game one of Origin tonight. Come on the canetoads make it 5 straight!
  18. Well done Philly on their win, have to say they deserved it overall. Both teams done well and not many people would have expected the bottom 2 seeds of the eastern conf being i the conference final. We can certainly hold our heads up high coming from finishing the regular season in overall 19th to being in the top 4 especially after a big overhaul of our squad from last season it was basically like a brand new team The final should be close but I will tip Chicago to go on to win the cup in 7.
  19. Ole ole ole ole Thats more like the way we should be playing, great game by the guys tonight! More pressuring on the net and less penalties and we will come on top. Need to back this fine effort up in game 4 now and make the most of our home advantage.
  20. Massive game next up for us at the Bell Centre, if we dont win this then its going to be a major struggle to pull ourselves back, at least we arent in the same position as San Jose are in that they have not made the most of their first 2 home games whereas we will be having the huge backing in our own stadium for the next 2 games. Hopefully we dont give us as many silly penalties as we have done in the first 2 games and have Halak at his top form and we will be alright, im optimistic lets have the bell centre rocking as usual!
  21. Getting pumped 6-0 isnt the best way to start a 7 game series, hopefully just getting our bad performance of the series over and done with first game, be good to snatch a win second game in Philly which could set us up nicely.
  22. Thats it mate, get behind the team, should be a hard conference final as Philly are a hard team to crack. Yeah I was in Canada for quite a while working over there on a working holidays visa, was actually working at the Maple leafs though Canada is a quality country, the people are very friendly, really just like Australia but with a different accent. Hope Cammileri and the boys can lift the cup for the first time in the Bell Centre, Ste Catherine st will go crazy . They can rub their hands all they like but remember us and Philly are no easy beats as we have so far proved so San Jose and Chicago can take us and Philly as lightly as they can
  23. Allez Le Habs! Wish I was back in Montreal now, the place will be buzzing.
  24. Yeah well I was under the roof about 20 rows from the front but the roof was leaking badly so lots more people got soaked than there should have been. That wee cart before he start of the match was hilarious getting stuck in the turf, took like 6 people to push it off aswell aami parks new scrum machine! The atmosphere will be great for both football and rugby games there, alot closer to the action than Olympic Park and Etihad stadium. They should have played it midweek on a Wednesday or something to give the guys playing in the test match and also the city vs country game a chance to get ready for their club games this weekend.
  25. Got drenched at the game last night but it was worth it seeing us beat the kiwis Back there again tomorrow to see us hopefully pump Brisbane, we will be without Cam Smith though after getting injured last night and be interested to see how Inglis who I thought was our best player last night and also Slater, Cronk, Blair and co pull up after the game. Bit harsh on the likes of the St George and Manly players to play the day after a test match though.
