  1. We beat Atlanta and then beat the Islanders 5-1 to put Habs on 2 game winning streak, hopefully it can kickstart a good season for us.
  2. Another loss for us last night, thats a 4 game losing streak we are on now Habs really have to pick up momentum very soon starting with Ottawa next. The Pacific division seems like its going to be a very close battle, Kings for the playoffs anyone?
  3. Well done, I did say it was going to be a hard game, especially as you guys looking for your first win to kickstart your season. All the best for the rest of the season. We really need to get our act into gear after past 2 games.
  4. Forgot to put this in here but here goes MELBOURNE STORM 09 NRL CHAMPIONS!!!! and U20 toyota cup champions too. As for Argentina entering the tri-nations they will be the whipping boys but it will improve them as a team and rugby nation.
  5. Good win Mr Brightside for your guys, well done. Now for the Canucks tonight, they are desperate for a win so will be hard.
  6. Bring on the Flames tonight We have also signed up defensemen Bergeron on one year contract.
  7. Of course he is a very important player but teams dont get to playoffs on the back of just one player, it will affect us like it would affect any other team but to say just because he is out for 4 months then we wont get nowhere near the players is very steep. He was our best players last season but that didnt make us do anything in the playoffs since everyone around him wasnt performing, its a team game. By the way nice win for you guys last night, all the best for the season. That was Laraque who is Montreals enforcer, bit of a brute. Montreal won in OT by the way so bring on Buffalo tonight.
  8. To say we will struggle to be anywhere near the playoffs is very steep. Although he is our most influential defenceman I still say we will be in the playoff picture or close to it.
  9. Good end to the game aswell So a good start for us Habs and good to see Gionta on fire again.
  10. Come on the Habs! Hopefully get a good start to the season by hammering the Maple Leafs
  11. Yeah good win for us, good to see all the new guys playing well together and Gionta playing especially well. I would be up for it but I have no idea how to do it. You would need to update it like every night aswell which wont be easy but if you set up a league then I will give it a go.
  12. You mean legend Dissappointed we got belted 6-1 in Ottawa and Kovalev scoring against us and then losing 2-1 to Boston but hey its just pre-season. The Maple Leafs vs Flyers game I went to was decent. Toronto won 5-4 in OT with some decent goals and about 4 fights to go with it. Kessel got introduced to the fans during the match and got a good reception but I think Toronto are going all out now and desperate to make the playoffs for first time in a while.
  13. Got my ticket for tonights pre-season match between Toronto and Philidelphia, should be good. Good to see the Habs win last night though against the Sens 2-1 considering the team we put out.
  14. I saw the Maple Leafs vs Boston pre-season match last night which you guys got beat in, apparently Toronto have a very tough pre-season coming up over the next week playing nearly every day. You got Mike Komisarek of us in the off-season. As for the Habs we have had a complete restructure as GM Gainey has shipped out notable players such as Alex Kovalev, Saku Koivu and Mike Komisarek along with a few others and in come Scott Gomez, Cammilieri, Gionta, Spacek, Hal Gill and Moen. I think we have picked up some decent players there but we have lost some decent players too although they didnt perform last season, we may be a bit small in the physical aspect this season but im optimstic we can still make the play-offs and do a better job of it than we did last season. It will be a big season for Markov as alot of pressure will be on his shoulders and the Kostitsyn brothers have to up their game this season along with Carey Price.
  15. Its raining on and off down here at the moment. Wont effect the game though because they will have the roof closed for it, well I will be heading off to the game soon so hope the maroons get a good win.
  16. Should be good match Yeah there is a 'state of origin' for aussie rules. Its generally between VIC and SA but it hasnt been properly contested for ages now. They had a VIC vs Rest of Australia match last year.
  17. I suppose that would have been the first time alot of people from NSW have seen a bath before!
  18. Na mate all good here, we are built of tough stuff down here swine flu wont keep us down.
  19. I got my origin ticket for tonight Go the Maroons make it 4 straight!!
  20. Aye rub it in We're not playing too well at the moment.
  21. You clearly dont understand what I am saying mate, im putting it all into comparison, we are talking about a grand slam event here. All competitions are minor compared to grand slams and many players can turn around and say they have won so many Masters series events but not as many can say they have won a grand slam which is far more impressive and in saying that Murray has never beaten Federer in a grand slam and nor has he ever won a grand slam either. It takes alot more skill and mental character to win a grand slam than any other event . One of my favourite players Marcos Baghdatis just got hammered 6-1 there in first set Djokovic in complete control.
  22. I am saying that the ATP Masters series are minor in comparison to grand slams which we are talking about comprendi
  23. True, it wasn't me who made the initial comparison I think it was Reynard who did. I know he won at Turnbury but not sure where he won the other?
  24. Yes he has played Federer once in a grand slam and got demolished making it 1-0 to Federer and with all the grand slam titles Federer has won compared to Murray's none then that gives Federer the edge over him. The fact that he was given the favourites tag for the tournament when he is 4th seed will only make Federer, Djokovic and Nadal come out even more and show why they are ranked above him so it will make them play better too and I wouldnt say he thrives on pressure just yet because he had alot of pressure on him to reach the final at Wimbledon and he never, and its his first real test of character this time as being talked up as the favourite, then we will see if he thrives on it or not, I hope he does. I know what the ATP Masters series events are all about as I watch them but we aren't talking about them as we are talking about a grand slam event here which is lot bigger and harder to win than any masters event.
