  1. I done the GNR few years back. Was very lucky that the wife got a corporate entry so free hotel stay and also a spot right in the front pen. So can’t comment on what it’s like in a pen at the back but have heard it can take a while to get over the start line the start line is up near Exhibition Park on the motorway. Most people walk up towards it on the morning. It’s not my favourite course I’ve done but the support is incredible. The last mile down the seafront is amazing too.
  2. Ultra Tour of Edinburgh done yesterday. First ultra marathon so delighted with a time of 6:36. Shame it’s the last one they’re doing. The pentlands were carnage but survived that and managed the rest of the route and actually enjoyed it!!!
  3. Seen the ref flash 2 reds one for the no 10 but no idea who else for. Pumphy are a strange team this season. Seen them a few times now. Always find it weird they sub their captain no 8 Mikey? every game even though he’s their best player most games when he’s playing
  4. Entertaining game at Pumphy tonight. Finished 2-2. Thought Pumphy deserved the 3 points but good game to watch. Ref lost the plot 2nd half by sending off fauldhouse player. Not got a clue why. 2 more seemingly followed after final whistle. Seen the ref at a few games and he’s been hopeless at everyone.
  5. Thought Lawes had been outstanding today. Never impressed with England but great today
  6. Has anyone got tickets for the World Cup coming up in October/November. I’m going to all Scotland’s group games and also the final at Old Trafford
  7. Do think it’ll be Tommy Hunter is the relation to Di Davidson. Some hour of TV
  8. Interesting that Chloe couldn’t get the door open on the van during the shooting part
  9. Just poor decision making and bottling chances when they have them from Scotland
  10. Ireland get away with it again. Same old.
  11. Took in Craigshill CFC v Tranent today. Tranent won 6-3. Referee was atrocious for both sides some dubious offside calls and penalties. Penalty spot wasn’t marked at one of the goals so he just made it up and looked about 9 yards away. Tranent’s experience told in the end. Thought no 8 (Mikey?) was good and also no 11 upfront
  12. Done Great North Run last weekend. Not the most exciting course but what an experience running it. Got a PB too which made it all the better
  13. I really enjoyed the race. Route was good. Yeah I lost a bit of time on the grassy bit but was better going a bit slower than going full pelt on it as it was pretty slippy. I really enjoyed the hill. Weird to say but I enjoy running up hills. My time was 48:34 which is was delighted with and managed to overtake some people in the last km which was a positive for me.
  14. Run the blades 10k tonight. Always wanted to do it so excited for that. In training for Great North Run at the moment so got long run planned for Sunday too. Enjoying the build up of miles in the training
  15. I ran Inverness half on Sunday too. PB of 1:41:01 which was pleasing. Wind and driving rain in miles 7-9 was horrible. Couldn’t feel the front of my body after. Great route apart from the finish as mentioned above but really enjoyed it
  16. I’ve done 18 and I’ve been good. That may differ from Person to person but it was good for me.
  17. I use gels on any long runs. Blackcurrant SIS gels. Have never failed me. I also have only ever run 18 miles as my longest run in prep for the marathons and it seemed to work. Good luck for it it though. It’s a great achievement once completed
  18. I done London in 2017. Whole experience was unbelievable. Done it in 4:34:35 actually slower than my first marathon attempt at Edinburgh in 2014 but I done Loch Ness last year and completed it in 3:59:22. So now a sub 4 hour marathon runner. No plans for any this year but got few half’s and 10ks lined up. Run the blades in July being one of them
  19. Didn't think that was a 30-27 fight for Calvillo. Some win for Danny Henry earlier though.
  20. Thanks Eddie. Well done to you too. I actually started off slower than I wanted and felt really good as the time went on. Met a guy I work with at 15 miles so stayed with him for 2 miles then I left him and went on from there. The support is something that'll never leave me though. It was unbelievable. I'm no sure how much it is Stu. I got in through Scottish SPCA so was fundraising for them
  21. Got round London in 4:34:36 which I was delighted with. Never stopped the whole 26.2 miles and that's something I never thought I would be able to do.
  22. Seen Louis Berry at King Tuts tonight. Top performance and can't wait for the album. Was ably supported from Tom Prior from London.
  23. It'll be my second marathon. I done the Edinburgh one in 2014. I actually thought I was doing better with the training on this one and feeling better but this setback has just came right out of the blue. I haven't really got a time in mind. I would like to beat 4 hours 30 but if I can't do that then it's ok. I'm doing it for the SSPCA so I just want to do them and my supporters proud. I could maybe get up to 13-15. I can just rejig the training plan and hopefully manage it.
