It’s one thing to think that Killie will beat Dundee because they are a better team, but utter nonsense to suggest that Tony Doc would send a team of professional footballers out to deliberately lose a match, just because he’s pals with the manager of the other team.
Anyone thinking that is a realistic possibility is an idiot (and I know you weren’t saying that, merely quoting some Dundee fans).
I think even the Dundee fans were suggesting that this would only apply in their favour if it was a dead rubber for Kilmarnock.
And even then I didn't take it that they thought Killie would go out intending to lose, more that they had nothing to play for and that McInnes wouldn't be overly upset if meant his mate made it in to Europe with him.

It’s all set up for St Mirren to grab 4th by beating a Celtic team who are in party mode and eyeing the Scottish Cup final, having clinched the title already…..
…..erm, bookmark this?
I think even if we beat them Dundee will lose to Killie.
Dundee fans before our game seemed to think that the relationship between the managers would mean Killie would lay down to Dundee if needed and Killie had nothing to play for.
Not saying that would have happened, but I do think if it's us and Killie for 4th, and Dundee with zero to play for, that a win at Celtic Park wouldn't be enough for us.
Unless we win 15-0.

No chance we're finishing 4th, even if we win on Saturday we still need to beat Hearts and for Celtic to beat Killie.
Not wildly impossible - but that leaves us needing to better Killie's result on the last game of the season when they go to Dens and we go to Celtic Park.
Let's just make sure we get 5th.0 -

It’ll be nice to play 11 v 11 again instead of 10 vs 15 (plus the VAR room).
Says a fan of the team who've had 5 VAR mistakes in their favour, and 0 against...
... as they're about to play the team at the other end of the VAR table with 0 mistakes for us and 4 against.0 -

I'd forgotten all about that episode.
Thanks for the reminder!

Hard to mention individuals without focussing on the colossus that is Gogic…
But both Strain and Baccus showed real class today.
Such a shame we didn’t have them available for the whole season as I think with those two guys, even VAR wouldn’t have stopped us being above Killie.0 -
Not a ‘crowd w**k’ question, but my dad seems really disappointed with size of Saints support, and says Well, Killie, St Johnstone regularly fill that stand.
Any Dundee fans thoughts welcome.0 -
STV news just did a piece on the VAR fails and how they impacted various clubs.
Focussed on how badly done Hibs were by having no mistakes in their favour and 2 (TWO) against them.
Poor Hibs.0 -

Many of us attend the football for the moments you remember and talk about for years to come. Celebrating a last minute winner for example. So for us VAR very much is the problem as there is now always that doubt about whether the goal will stand.
VAR gave Aberdeen a 97th minute equaliser against St Mirren earlier in the season after correctly awarding Aberdeen a penalty.
And it gave Aberdeen what I'm sure felt like a last minute winner.
Sadly VAR then failed to see that the 'goal' should have been ruled out - which would have given Saints fans a moment to talk about for years to come.
Needed to wait till the next home game against Aberdeen for last minute, talk about for years, drama.1 -
And still more than 3 days till the actual game of football.

Kenny Miller has never seen a keeper save a shot straight at him ever before......
He has I’m sure.
What’s that got to do with Butland’s save?0 -

Come on Saints (and whoever is playing Dundee).
Had a look that. Only two lines about 5th:
”Whoever secures fifth at the end of the season will go into Conference League qualifying at round two.”
Looked up, and we’d need to win 3 ties to get into the group stages.Finishing 4th makes things so much easier. Even if you lose your first game, you go straight to Conference League play off.
Such a shame that we had such a bad run. That second half at Rugby Park - ouch!

Motherwells top flight run is one of the most impressive, and under rated, achievements in Scottish football IMO.
I do find it a bit odd either Dundee side is put above them in "biggest club" rankings tbh.
Were they not saved by the 10,000 seater rule at one point?
Or something similar?
Did they cleverly go into administration at a time when there were no points deductions either?
That IS impressive!0 -

Whilst we have dropped some points against Livi etc it cant also be ignored the decisions that went against us when they were clear cut. The game at Dingwall for example with the clear handball.
Football can be fine margins but you need luck too.
Last minute penalty away to Hearts not given at 1-0 down.
82nd minute penalty home to Hearts not given at 2-1 down.
3 goals chopped off against Hearts in 1-0 home win.
That's 2 points and +5 goal difference - and that's all just against one team !Frustrating as those things were, the only decision that has categorically changed a result was the double kick Aberdeen penalty that absolutely cost us 2 points earlier in the season.
Will be very hard to take if we miss out on Europe if we miss out by 2 points.

This could be one of the worst games of football quality wise I’ve seen in years.
Can’t blame pitch or weather either.
