  1. The East Stand is sold out and around 150 seats sold in the South Stand so looks to be our biggest crowd for a league game since Rangers were in the lower leagues, really good turn-out by the Utd fans given it's a Friday night TV game.
  2. I expect the play-offs are here to stay, however I believe the reward for the team finishing in the higher Championship position should be greater, for example a one-off game with home advantage and progression if match is drawn.
  3. Drove from Firhill to the Dundee Ice Arena, so my goal difference for the day is -10. Good turn out by both Caps and Lynx fans with both sides of the rink packed and a fair number behind the net, just a shame the game was so one-sided. Too many penalties for the Caps which Lynx ruthlessly exploited; Isaacs not being available was a big miss. I suppose one Scottish Cup anyway made its way back to Aberdeen yesterday.
  4. I just gave up on my queen side to concentrate on a king side attack which I felt was losing momentum until @Curmudgeon took a poisoned bishop that allowed me to break through, would have been an enjoyable game even had I lost, was never going to be a draw for sure.
  5. Agree with this, they managed the game well. I thought the first goal was off-side at the time but not only was the player in his own half, there were two defenders in front of him at the time the pass was played.
  6. redVtop wins against KenDeans after their resignation. Thanks for the game.
  7. Huge congratulations to the team and all connected to the club on guaranteeing Championship football at a minimum next season, and a wee (inter)national trophy in the boardroom as well to keep the NL Cup company.
  8. If it Wasnae for the Airdrie Where would you be? You'd be in the League One play offs instead of ICT
  9. Yeh, completely missed the knight fork, just thought @Aim Here was trying to kick my bishop with the pawn and didn't spot the trap in place if I retreated to what seemed like at the time the most sensible square. It was a struggle from that point onwards but tried to hang in for a reciprocal mistake that was not forthcoming. Just beaten by the better player on the day.
  10. Ian Murray unveils one-off kit for midweek visit of Airdrie to Starks Park.
  11. I'm sure ICT (that point up there could prove crucial) should defeat a really poor Arbroath side and we do have a tough set of final fixtures but we should have enough points accumulated to finish above them. We would all have been over the moon at the start of the season if offered this Top league cup group with 4 wins Secure Championship status Progress to 5th round of cup defeating Premiership opposition in round 4 Win SPFL Trust Trophy so to be in with a good chance of making the Premiership play-offs is really just the icing on the cake, and I doubt any other team in the SPFL has more two-leg play-off experience (ok, normally not in a good way up until recently) than us. I expect the Championship next season to be pretty competitive again so one way to avoid League 1 relegation or play-off next season is to be in the Premiership!
  12. redVtop completes Rnd 5&6 Dundee Utd double after arabjoe resigns. Thanks to both for the games.
  13. Round 5 Division A redvtop vs invergowrie redVtop wins following resignation of Invergowrie.
  14. I'm guessing this game got picked for TV as they're only allowed to show two teams play each other once? Ayr are the only team we haven't managed to take points from and deservedly so on those performances, thus hoping for a change of fortune this Friday. Both McGill and McGregor were unused subs on Sunday which suggest neither is likely to start and of course McStravick and McCabe went off injured. The good news is that both Lyall and Megwa who have been two of our best players in recent games will return to the starting 11.
  15. Round 2 redvtop vs stewartmathers Win for redVtop by resignation. Thanks for the game.
  16. @Leicesterlichtie timed out in my Round 3 game too, happy to replay the game as we were only 6 moves in.
  17. This is overly simplistic as an example but at the start of 1981 the average house price in the UK was about £24K which after inflation equates to about £114K today, however, the cost of an average house at start of 2024 was £285K. I think it would be fare for that £171K of untaxed investment income to be subject to some form of inheritance tax.
  18. Couldn't really have asked for a tougher start than away to last season's champions so was happy to find my draw offer accepted and get a league point on the board.
  19. I get annoyed when I see 24hr clock times postfixed with am/pm, in particular the latter as 15:00pm makes no sense; I'm looking at you ICT as the most recent offender. I decided to not be a 24hr clock martyr and turn up at 3am (15hrs post meridian from 9th March) on the Sunday morning for the kick-off!
  20. Dunfermline played well in the first half however if you don't take your chances you don't win games and the one quality chance we created produced a goal. After Gabby's wonder strike Dunfermline failed to create anything of note and so we were able to see out a comfortable win in the end.
  21. Was at the very enjoyable Sunday morning session and then went to the St Enoch Centre to visit the World Athletics and Glasgow 2014 pop-up museums and later met the high jumper Woo on Buchanan St to the delight of my eldest son who got a photo with him.
  22. The draw was conducted by an Airdrie Fan TV "personality" who got f' all payment for taking part.
  23. The goals Airdrie conceded yesterday were certainly "++ Deary Me" moments.
