Ok, he’s an absolute coaching genius and it’s everyone else’s fault.

I mean no one's saying that, there is a middle ground.

He deserves criticism for some of our performances and his game management/tactical approach. But to say he only has himself to blame for the make up of the squad is just daft. There are very obvious and simple reasons our squad is in the state it's currently in, quite a few of those are outwith his control.

I’m not superstitious mate so don’t believe in curses only hard facts.

He’s brought in 12 players so only has himself to blame if the make up of his squad is wrong.

I'm not really sure of that - two of his best players left, we've been wrecked by injuries (including our two other best players this season) and most importantly the folk above him - i.e the ones who actually sign players - have been in a constant shambles since he arrived.

  3. Had heard the rumour and did think it was unlikely to have been completely made up given how obscure a player he is.

The footballing side of it is of zero relevance just now but the chat does seem to be that he had a fairly well known reputation for being a complete banger,  which you'd surely imagine folk at Celtic were aware of. Those discussions can wait though, an absolutely tragic situation and just horrible for the lad's family.

  4. I was off Primary School due to being ill and spent the day at my grandparents watching it with them, was very much in the 'thought it was a film at first' camp. Was too young to really understand it but it did feel massive, like it completely changed the general mood and made folk suddenly feel a bit less secure, however i was too young to recognise that so maybe i'm saying it in hindsight having read and heard loads about how much of a watershed it was.

The documentary on iPlayer following Bush minute by minute on the day is very interesting, the Netflix series that came out the other day is also a very good illustration of how the US government had a collective heads gone in the weeks that followed. Been mentioned a fair bit on here but the Conflicted podcast with former Al-Qaeda member Aimen Dean is probably the most interesting insight into the whole thing, the planning of it, their motives and also how preventable it was.

It is strange having grown up during the 2000s with 9/11, the subsequent wars and then the financial crash. I've no recollection of a time where things weren't a bit miserable or tense politically/socially. The way folk talk about the time from the mid 90's up until 9/11, where there seemed to be a bit of optimism and even naivety is hard to imagine now, although i'm sure a fair bit of it is rose tinted.

  5. McGregor and Gilmour is our most technical midfield pairing in quite some time, superb to watch.

Gilmour himself is the most exciting player i've ever seen play for Scotland. His control, weight of pass, body shape when receiving the ball etc is a different level all together and really makes you see the difference between a very good player and an elite level player, i can't quite believe he's Scottish to be honest. There must be a lack of Playstations/no ball game signs in Ardrossan.

  6. I see Sean McDonald who does the Blethered podcast is the new target. I can understand the rationale in going for the Daily Record given they went after H&H for similar stuff, but it's starting to get a bit weird now. I think Sean done some sort video for the Daily Record a while ago so he's been taken down by association, even though he hasn't commented on this whole thing at all. Folk have contacted the BBC as well as St Lukes and other venues where he's due to host a live show so he could be in a bit of bother career wise after this. Few of the screenshots do look a bit dodgy although i'm not sure what ones are genuine at this point.

When we see pish like this posted I think it's time to draw a line under this week's brouhaha and move on - until the next time we beat you.

Who'd have thought a simple headed goal from Big Fil would have sent Sellick fans, their diddy pals, Polis Alba and the SNP into a foaming-at-the-mouth frenzy?

    Here's a reminder...

Eh? i'm just repeating what David Edgar said himself a few years ago. I've paid very little attention to the current shit storm and generally tune out of the endless brain rot that is the ''we're the goodies yous are the baddies watp/HH' shite, i was just clarifying that Edgar had been on Sportsound, as folk on here were wondering.

  8. Edgar was on Sportsound a good few times, he's since said that Spiers, Chick Young and Tom English were essentially told by David Murray to do a job on him and make him look a complete numpty to discredit his criticisms of the Rangers board at the time. That Twitter account does at times seem to be fairly level headed but as others have said there's a lot of not so subtle nods and winks to *that* element. His appearance on GB news under the guise of 'promoting Rangers publicly' was some laugh.

  9. Can't think of a more 'if they can screw the nut' strike partnership than Griffiths and Cummings. There's the chance that this move increases the likelihood of off field shenanigans from Griffiths but it'll be entertaining regardless. Any hopes of him entirely reforming his character and turning into a model pro are long gone, but if Dundee can get the ball dropping at his feet in the box he'll score a good few. A good move for all parties really.

Did Jax and Flair go a wee bit shoot in the middle of their match? Got awfy messy (even for a jax match) and a bit bad tempered.

Definitely looked like it, was a bit uncomfortable to watch. Like they forgot they were meant to be having a match on TV at one point.

Also that winking doll video looks like a clip you'd see in a documentary to be used as an example of a promotion going tits up on its last legs, Russo WCW/TNA stuff. Horrifically bad, and i refuse to believe there aren't folk at the WWE self aware enough to know that (although if it comes from you know who it doesn't matter) so i'd assume they know it'll chime with a certain portion of their audience and sell merch, but f**k me it's beyond bad, and not even in the ''so silly it's funny'' type of way.

  11. Surprisingly not getting too down about that. Despite not doing much in the first half we looked OK and started to find our rhythm. Rangers dominated us for a chunk of the second half and took advantage of it. Despite Rangers having their spell in the second half i don't actually think there was all that much in it overall, couple of sitters missed which change the game and so on, our defence weren't ran ragged like i'd feared and i suspect we'll be a bit more settled once they come to Celtic Park (they might be too of course but aye). The first one is always important for momentum but there's a long, long way to go, and i can remember a good few occasions where we beat Rangers but went on to lose the league and vice versa, so not getting carried away by the usual reactionary hysteria. Our bench was worryingly weak though and i hope we'll bring a couple more in, Montgomery was fine but he's never going to come on and change a game at his stage of development.

Kyogo has to play through the middle from now, i'm sure Rangers' defenders starting to tire had something to do with it, but we posed much more of a threat when he started making his runs in behind.

It’s a strange thing, I’m coeliac but poured normal beer down my throat at alarming levels for 30 years with genuinely no ill effects (confirmed by blood tests last year when new GP wanted to carry out a health check on my coeliac). I always got the impression that the brewing process removed the gluten.

I decided to go totally GF since then which coincided with lockdown. @Fratelli are you GF by choice or necessity? I tried belfield, was ok - session lager and German pilsner. I used to drink daura but went off it, and I can’t really see past peroni as it is easily available and I generally drink lager, but no doubt it will be pints of T next time I’m out in the pub, which hasn’t happened since March 19 but the Scotland game awaits next week.

I tried it as a process of elimination to get to the bottom of a few health issues and have felt better for it. I like Daura but like yourself usually revert to Peroni through convenience. Have tried the San Miguel stuff which is fine, but i wouldn't be in a rush to get it again. In terms of pubs i've had the same issues, drank cider but on a couple of the occasions i've been out again i've ended up just going back to Tennents and putting it down as a cheat day (which i'm sure is the wrong way to approach being GF but ah well). FWIW Tennents sell bottles of their own Gluten Free lager online, which is actually stronger than regular at 5% and not as expensive as some of the others.

The gluten content in a lot of beer is quite puzzling though, folk online have tested different beers with home testing kits and found some lagers to have very little gluten in them, almost on the verge of being considered gluten free, although it seems to vary a fair bit.

Had a delivery of a few gluten free lagers. Thought GF beer would be a lost cause but been very surprised by every one i've tried so far, some cracking options.

Pure Helles by Purity Brewing. Tried a few different gluten free takes on German Helles, pretty decent and one of the better GF lagers i've had so far.

Jubel peach lager. Lovely stuff, will definitely get again.

Theres no reason for GF beer to be bad or less in any way. The ingredients and process are identical. They just lob in an enzyme that breaks down the gluten. I actually use it quite regularly as the wife tries to avoid gluten for reasons I dont understand.

Aye i wasn't clued up until i started trying them, so just assumed they would essentially be an imitation. Loads of gluten free products have improved massively in the last decade or so, and aren't all that different from the regular stuff, apart from the odd thing.

  15. What a day of box office Barclays, will feel very weird but somehow just right seeing Ronaldo back at United. Look forward to seeing a grown (36 year old) man doing his wee 'Siuuu' routine with his shirt off after scoring a 92nd minute penalty to make it 4-1 at home to Norwich. In terms of the players on show and the general buzz of having fans back, this could be the most exciting PL season in a while.
