Tennents gluten free. Decent stuff, and at 5% has a bit of a kick compared to the regular gear.

It's only fitting that for Scotland's first tournament in 23 years, they give the official song a title we can all unite behind.

For too long Scottish/British teams in Europe and at tournaments have been the goody wee innocent boys getting naively shithoused out of competitions by savvy continental sides who know how to play the game. I want us going full Mourinho's Porto at the Euros, diving, surrounding the ref, imaginary cards, dae it.
Of course if we get put out by a side doing that i'll be saying it's ruined football and should be stamped out, but i'd quite like us to become a team of absolute wankers.

Clarke is a Chelsea legend and still lives down in London, there's no way he doesn't know how good Gilmour is.
Yep, which is why i was saying that the whole 'Gilmour bossing games against Man City yet Steve Clarke thinks *insert average player in the Scotland squad* is better' patter that's been all over social media since the last squad is complete nonsense.

I don't think it'll be a contentious one at this point - I'd be very surprised if he wasn't in the squad, getting a half decent run of starts for Chelsea is enough for someone to be a stick on for a Scotland call up. Seeing a lot of folk still giving it the 'but Steve Clarke thinks John Fleck is better, typical Scottish mentality ' patter, even though his omission from the last squad was quite understandable given he had hardly kicked a ball in months. Whether or not he starts is another issue mind.

Some of the chat from Tory Twitter is a good laugh.
No doubt these types will be the first to shout about how labelling those who voted for Brexit etc as thick and uneducated just further alienates them, and how we should 'try and understand them' but there ye are.

The borders is such a strange mix of posh quaint areas next to complete depravity and then in the middle loads of working class folk who are convinced that they are middle class. The result isn't a surprise at all but hopefully it doesn't have much of an impact.

Is it normal to see BBC journalists dive in headfirst like this? not exactly holding back his opinion here. You'd think it was big Andy Neil tweeting that.

The fact that it is getting unanimously panned on Twitter, where folk usually say it was the best episode ever every week is telling.

What? is that it? it can't end like that surely

Just now, Mr. Alli said:
You genuinely believe today would have happened if Man United were going for the league?
Come off it.
I don't genuinely believe that. I'm not 100% certain but aye it most likely wouldn't have happened - although the vast majority of anti-Glazer protests to date were carried out when they were winning leagues and getting to CL finals - but the protest was chosen before folk knew this result would crown City champions if it went a certain way. It's also quite easy to see why they picked this fixture over the game on Thursday night, but i don't believe it had anything to do with stopping City winning the title via a Liverpool win.

No?
Where were they on Thursday then?
The protest was organised about 2 weeks ago, before the title winning situation was known.
I suspect this was chosen as it's one of the most watched games in world football, on a prime slot shown all over the world, would allow more folk to go and would probably generate a wee bit more attention than doing it for a Thursday night Europa League game.

Souness was miles off the mark in terms of why they were protesting. Surprised he didn't get a word in his ear during one of the breaks to correct him. United fans' frustration over the Glazers has virtually hee haw to do with their performance on the pitch and more to do with how they bought the club and run it financially.
Think that just about nails it, although to be fair i think Keane and Carragher seemed to get it. Neville, whilst making mostly accurate points still seemed to think the protest was mostly down to the super league and not 15 years of frustrations coming to a head.

Does give off the vibe that it's finishing tonight.

Went gluten free about a month ago so have been trying the various different options available, this one is a GF take on a German helles lager. Really enjoying it and it's probably my favourite out of the ones i've tried so far, alongside Estralla's GF offering. Although it's not cheap so i can't see it becoming my regular choice.

Heard Compston say on a podcast a couple of months ago that they hoped/felt they might have another one or two in them, but the tone of interviews from him and other folk involved this week does give off the impression that Sunday will be the end of it, i think a lot of the BBC's promo material for the episode has that feel to it as well.
In every series it's looked like they were about to uncover the roots to the OCG/H but then left a bit at the end to show that it's not done yet, i don't think they could get away with that again and think everyone is ready for the H storyline to come to an end, which would effectively put a bow on the whole series. Not sure where they'd go from there and can't imagine they'd start a whole new story arc. Compston also said on that podcast that they're all very conscious of not dragging it on for too long, making a c**t of it and then ruining it's legacy in the same way other shows have went.

Oh.
Although as others have pointed out the actor credited as captain is listed on IMBD as another Spanish actor.

Aye i think that felt a bit flat. Considering it was probably the most anticipated episode yet i feel like the excitement from last week fizzled out pretty quickly.
Not really got a clue where they'll go with it next week, seems like they've left themselves an awful lot to do and explain . With the whole Hastings retirement thing coming closer i do think it hints at next week being the last episode ever but i suppose we'll see.

Quite a sad story about the BCR’s was it not? Wasnt a fan but seems they were pretty badly treated and shafted out of royalties etc?
Aye, they all should've been absolutely minted but ended up with next to nothing and having to get normal jobs. Sure one of them was a plumber for a bit if i mind right, another one lived near my parents for a while in a fairly bog standard area. Criminal when you consider they reportedly sold over 120 million records, in an era where folk paid a few quid for records as well.

Blair coming out with this three hours after it all fell apart is very funny to me
Very apt considering he was probably the first politician to really go in for the 'see the match last night? bloody love football, me' patter. Nice to see he's still trying to keep it going.

The situation with Chelsea is fairly unique given that the pitch at Stamford Bridge belongs to a supporters group, as well as the Chelsea name itself (if i mind right). Sure there's probably ways round it but the supporters group technically have the power to make things quite difficult for the club, and threatened to do so.
Besides, i think Abramovic is more into the idea of just winning stuff and being the owner of he best football team on the planet, as opposed to using it purely to make a few quid, like the Glazers, FSG etc. By all accounts it's a hobby for him and he's quite happy to fling daft amounts at it if it means winning trophies. I think the hassle of it and bad reputation with their fans isn't worth the extra money to him, possibly the same with City's lot.

Angelli gone too. What a massive, massive c**t they've made of this. Glorious.
