  1. Don't be too harsh on him 8Mile, he has breakdowns when Newky red dots his posts.
  2. truly wonderful entertainment tonight, i almost cheered spartans goal for the comedic value of it all
  3. I think this year has been enjoyable because every team is capable of beating each other bar Gretna, Edinburgh Uni and Vale. For years, a few dropped points early in the season pretty much ended your hopes of promotion but this year might end up being one of the lowest winnings totals. Do I think we'll win the league? No but we're playing some decent stuff and its a better brand of football than last year. I think we'll end up 3rd or 4th which would still be a decent enough season. However, if we finish the season as strongly as we usually do then we could have an outside chance of the title. Huge game against BSC next, win that and they could be out of the title race for good and we have some favorable ties leading up to Xmas so you never know. Just got to take it a game at a time and hope for the best.
  4. Cheers Dave. Appreciate that. Kind of what I expected but was somehow hoping that it would be all competitions so he would only miss the Spartans game but never mind.
  5. That was a great win today after the shambolic unraveling against the Colts. It keeps us right in the title hunt, its just so disappointing that we could/should be sitting 2 points clear at the top of the league. Robbie Youngs through ball for Dishs goal was excellent and its good to see Dish go on a little scoring run. Peggies first goal is another contender for goal of the month, a great strike, and Nicky Lows assist for Peggies second was inch perfect. Berwick have made it difficult for teams this year so its great that we managed to dispose of them comfortably and hopefully the players have learned their lesson after Wednesday. The big downside is Malones sending off, hopefully he'll only miss the Spartans game next week? but i'm unsure how the suspension rules work. BSC is our next league game and it would certainly be a difficult ask without Tapping and Malone.
  6. Derek Ure out. Liquidate ESFC. Relegate us to the East of Scotland conferences with fellow diddies Vale of Leithen and Gretna 2008
  7. Hahahahahhhahahahaahahahaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahhahahaha
  8. Very meh draw. Normally Shire v Locos would be a cause for great excitement due to Gordie and the Chuff Chuffs but this year not so much. Good points are it's at home and the Locos will only have played a handful of games. Negatives being we could've drew a much easier tie. Might be interesting to see how we match up against one of the Highland Leagues better sides too I don't really care about the Scottish this year, I guess it's important as it's a great chance for the club to earn some much needed cash but I would hate for us to do well and end up drawing a dream away tie somewhere and we can't go to see it.
  9. It'll be interesting if they release a statement detailing why because as you say they have taken a very unique decision
  10. Probably just happy to pocket the prize money since there chances of progressing as pretty slim and save on the travel costs of a possible trip up north
  11. The Shire haven't been drawn at home in the Scottish Cup since 2014 and I will happily take a home draw this year since the fans won't be there. I think I will cry if we draw Fort William away or something ridiculous like that
  12. Only having a laugh newkie after the stuff he said about the Shire. I've always said that without teams like Vale the LL wouldn't be what it is today. But the LL has outgrown Vale at an excruciatingly fast rate and as such they are now one of the teams that are bottlenecking the pyramid. Will the league be more competitive once Vale, Edinburgh Uni, Gretna go? Yes. Will these teams be more competitive once they are relegated? Yes and I'm sure it'll be better for their fans and committee when they are competing and not getting scudded every week as that's no fun for anyone as I'm sure you'll testify. However, it's not any of these teams fault that the relegation from the LL is so complex or the fact a global pandemic halting the season this year. They'll go eventually but until then they'll just be making up the numbers like the shire were in the mid 2000s.
  13. Hahahahahahaha I love that. For the record, I don't actually have a problem with Vale. I feel a bit sorry for them as the predicament there in isn't really their fault.
  14. Yeah no way were either penalties. Ours was a blatant dive, bonnyriggs not much better. I suppose it evened itself out but you don't want either to ever be seen given.
  15. Looks like the Vale players used the ignorant and disrespectful comments to their advantage by helping them get pumped up for their 5-0 pumping at the hands of fellow diddymen Gretna today. To the East of Scotland conferences you go.
  16. Another point, I think that is the first time we've defeated a 'top 4' side since BSC Glasgow away in December 2017. Derek Ure scored the winner that day - shows how long its been.
  17. What a result. I planned to finish work and watch the game 'as live' but sadly myplayer didn't allow me too. I've had problems every time i've used it and its really annoying. Mycujoo was a million times better than this. But I can let that slide for the result. I did not expect that at all. Another big week ahead of us and 2 wins would be an incredible return going into the BSC game later this month
  18. 100% agree. Team should pick itself with Watson and Kearney or Rodgers up top. I'd start Kearney as he is physical and then bring Rodgers on to add spark later on. Low can either be brought on to add creativity or shore up the midfield depending on how the game is going.
  19. I said a few weeks ago before EK that it was our biggest game in the LL. As our run keeps on going the importance of every game rises and yet again I feel today is the biggest day in our LL history. First and foremost a win is a must. We'll never get a better chance to beat a top 4 side. We have all the confidence in the world while Bonnyrigg have drawn their last 2 and are without their most creative player. A win would pretty much end their title chances even at this early stage. Similarly though, a loss for us would all but end our title shot unless Kelty drop points against EK. We have a genuine chance of either being top of the league on Wednesday or being able to go top if we win our game in hand and the psychological boost that could give would be massive. Nicky Low is also available today which poses Del a massive dilemma. We've spent 4 years trying to find a winning formula and we finally have it, do we rip that up to fit in our best player or do we stick with what has for us here in the first place. Personally I'd keep him on the bench and bring him on to change the game if need be in the second half. We've been here before many times with the shire. Sliding door moments, chances that we've never grabbed. This is a golden one today, especially considering we have 5 very winnable games in our next 6. Anyway that was my heart talking. With my head I can't see anything but a draw but I really, really hope we can somehow edge this one. Mon the Shire.
  20. Good luck Bravehearts Dad. Think it will be a very tight 1-1 draw
  21. Why do you say shite like that. You're just building yourself up for a fall
  22. The way you have worded that makes it seem like you have some personal vandetta against him. Interesting. He hasn't scored yet but he hasn't had an awful lot of chances. He missed a sitter against Dalbeattie which I'm sure if he had again he would've scored with ease. His first touch can be lacking at times but he put in a great cross for Wyldes goal at Dalbeattie. A pretty average start to his career with us but his goal against Linlithgow in pre season shows that there is definitely a player in there and once he gets his first league goal I'm sure he'll get a few more.
  23. Yeah I'm not saying its not. I've never been to Vale and I would like to go. I'm sure it's a much better place to watch football than Falkirk Stadium, Forthbank, the Soulless Cage or Broadwood. However, on ability Vale as 2 tiers above their level and are somewhat stagnating the pyramid by their existence in the LL. I know its not their fault and without teams like them the LL may not have existed but the sooner Vale, Gretna, Edinburgh Uni etc are out the league the better the standard will be.
  24. And when those teams come in we'll find our level too. People are always quick to have goes at the 'closed shop' SPFL but the Lowland isnt much better, if anything its worse. The sooner they bring in 2/3 teams going down a year the better for the league and the better for the pyramid.
