  1. Yeah we played to his strengths yesterday. After watching the highlights I forgot just how many good chances we had to go one up or bring it back to a draw. Disappointed that the Brisbane penalty claim isn’t in the highlights just so people could stop with the narrative that the ref cost us the game. I don’t think I’ve seen as blatant a dive and I can’t believe the ref even had to consult his linesman to give it as a dive.
  2. Some things just aren’t meant to be. The Scottish Cup and Shire are one of those things. Well done Gala, thoroughly deserved it. Ricky Miller was outstanding and always seems to play well against us, don’t know why some fans have a hate to towards him, he’s a borderline cult hero. Reece Donaldson on the other hand, that man stole a wage and I absolutely despise him.
  3. Who even cares about the league, we’re going for the cup double
  4. I just watched Sportscene there and saw Ricki Lamie playing for Livingston, he was comfortably one of the worst players I've ever seen when he was on loan to us in 2014 and I have no idea how he's managed to get into the SPL. Fair play to him.
  5. That was a very strange game of football yesterday. A great game but lacking any real quality imo, just 90 mins of hoof ball. I thought we played well in the first half and probably deserved our well worked goal. Then in typical shire fashion we absolutely shat the bed and find ourselves 2-1 down at HT. The start of the second half had a pre season feel to it, there wasn’t much noise from the players or crowd and it looked like some were just going through the motions. We carved an equaliser out and without having time to finish our celebrations a penalty was awarded and we were 3-2 down. Interestingly, the referee said after the game that McKee won the ball but it was how he tackled the player. I thought it was a penalty in real time but will be interesting to see it again. I’m normally pretty neutral with referees but this bunch were a bit ridiculous, for both teams may I add. From a shire perspective, 2 solid calls for a penalty and then one advantage from a foul right on the edge of the Civil box directly in front of goal. This got the crowd and the players riled up and from then on Shire were on the front foot and duly got the 3rd. Each team missed good chances to snatch it, Civil missed a free header 6 yard out and Danny Ashe hit a 25 yard volley that got tipped over. Injury time seemed to last an eternity when at 5 o clock, Rodgers cut inside and swung a left foot piledriver towards goal which got flicked on by a Civil defender past the flailing goalkeeper to start pandemonium in the Shire support. I don’t know how we did it, but I’ll take it. It took me 21 months to see the Shire win a game and now I’ve seen 2 on the trot, both of which have been mad in their own right. Hopefully it’s 3 in a row in 2 weeks time.
  6. 3rd bottom, what a sorry state of affairs
  7. The good start to the season seems worlds away now. Need to concentrate on a cup run to try and get some funds for next year
  8. Really looking forward to today, I’ve not seen the Shire win in 21 months so today would be a nice day day to change that
  9. My brother said it was McCaughie who got bollocked at FT
  10. You just wait till your money dries up and you return to being the King Diddies that you've always been.
  11. I am indeed, is everyone going by supporters bus??
  12. Bring in Lachlan and let the banter years commence.
  13. Thanks! Really enjoyed my first ever game yesterday aswell, just a shame about the result. Can't wait for next week!
  14. The sitters we missed in the first five minutes were game changers as it would have given us the opportunity to control the game. Then in typical Shire fashion we go on and concede a few minutes later losing all the momentum we’d garnered early on. Rodgers was ineffective, Murray always out of position, McCafferty went missing in the second half and McCaughie would be an amazing player if he ran at players and took them on instead of looking to cross all the time. Really liked McKee at Centre Half and Del and Simon White worked well in the middle but were no match for big ‘Arnie the Destroyer’. Suppose the midweek games might have been taken there toll as we looked a bit out on our feet in the last 20 and completely bereft of ideas. Now we just need to carry on and try get some more wins on the board, preferably starting next week at Dalbeattie, but from that viewing I think another season of finishing 2nd-4th looks on the cards.
  15. Please tell me Barry Russell was a seething mess at full time
  16. He has quite a poor attitude aswell does he not
  17. I was told that one was 100% signed and the other 99%. Would be two very good signings going by what's said on here
  18. Apparently we're signing Colin Leiper from Lithgae Rose and a Gemmell from Bo'ness but I've never heard of him
  19. The highlights are really embarrassing, would get a better game v a shire fans XI, surely to god fans are bored of the team putting 5 past amateur teams?
