  1. Anyone done a Master League with the default team (Miss the good old days of Castolo and Minanda!) ?

That boy Arcas, the Shadow Striker, is absolutely shit hot for my PES United dynasty, so much so that I can't afford his latest contract demands of £5 millon a year!

Will get round to the MyClub and Online parts soon, but fair enjoying the Master League mode with my made up squads (Only guy I've signed I recognise is that young Guendouzi who was transfer listed by Arsenal).

  2. Intriguing to see what this International break does to the team with the aforementioned run of fixtures to come that we'll probably be starting to look at in the "not must win, but certainly can't afford to lose category" - if we can't get anything from St Mirren or Dundee then we rightly deserve to be in that bottom 3/4 area. Ideal world Campbell gets some sort of a break, but International Duty beckons and that's fair enough.

Confidence is something that group could really do with, and we need it to come from somewhere. Not quite sure what Dunne coming back into the team will do for that, as defensively I'm not massively concerned, yet, but moreover the other end of the park There's 100% merit to both the points made on the shape and lack of quality among the personnel - looking at Saturday's lineup there wasn't much to be excited about in terms of where the spark would come from and it was pretty telling our goal came from 1, Campbell winning the ball high up the park, and 2, a deflection from a Bowman shot that looked to be going straight at their keeper.

I've been massively on board the Cadden either in the middle of the park somewhere, and Tait back in his natural position camp for quite some time now, and tbh I just don't think Cadden is good enough to actually play anywhere other than RWB where he safely does a job most games, but rarely sparkles - given a choice between the two at that position I'd have Tait any day, but personal preference would see us shift back to a back 4 with him at RB and actually give ourselves more options up the park.

A lot of ramblings that have been harder to articulate than I thought coming out of the game on Sat, but hopefully this break period will see some work on the training field on "looking after a football" ...

Not even sure the Stadium is always open on non-match days. However, on all the sub-crawls I've ever done (or rather both) ... we started at either Bridge St and went clockwise, or Govan and went anti-clockwise. If you do the latter and start at 11am, you'll have done the Stadium Bar long before the masses arrive. Both routes also mean the last stop is either in Partick or St Enoch (assuming you don't want to "close the loop").

My experience of pub crawls is most of them "fizzle out" around the 10-11 mark. You'll inevitably have some people drinking pints and other shorts ... so everyone gets out of sync the more steaming they get.

Never actually considered starting at Ibrox/Govan - may be an avenue worth exploring. Many thanks!

  4. Bump - Anyone got any experience of doing a sub crawl when Rangers have a 3pm on a Saturday? Was swithering on the idea of trying to time the start of our crawl with getting to the Ibrox area stops during the game taking place, hopefully making the Louden etc a bit quieter - this easy to do, or is it worth it just patching the Ibrox and Govan stops completely for the crawl?

With the majority of folks availability all over the place, that Saturday was the only one that suited everyone going, otherwise we'd have gone for one that didn't have Rangers playing that day, and it's sadly the weekend before the Europa League group matches get underway, taking away the hope of the game being shifted to a Sunday if Rangers progress.

    Help/Advice much appreciated :)

  5. Going on Sunday for a couple of nights - had our AirBnB cancelled due to some problem with the host, the language barrier from her phonecall this morning was a touch amusing for everyone else nearby. Got a room at the Park Inn on AlexanderPlatz, a safe option given the relatively last minute of the booking.

Fair looking forward to seeing the city - contemplated a Union Berlin game but after the story from the first couple of pages, that's perhaps an experience I could do without given I'm taking my Mother.

No greater feeling than that. None.

Quite enjoying an Arsenal save tbh, feel like they're maybe a bit OP, but maybe its just me (theyre definitely OP)

Doucoure the only signing whos played regularly, I also signed Berardi but hes been injured a lot. Ozil, Ramsey and Wilshere all demanded moves to Man City/CL level team, so I've spent £17m on Arthur, he better be as good as the hype..

It's definitely not just you with thinking they're overpowered! How did you set them up?  I tried out a fair few formations in the pre season on my Arsenal save - trying to find a way to get Aubameyang and Lacazette in the starting 11, plus Ozil and Mkhytaryan (sp?) took a bit of experimentation.

In the end, settled on a 4-4-2 diamond, and it absolutely wrecked havoc. Not got the stats to hand, but Aubameyang scored a riduclous amount of goals in the end! Perhaps being in the Europa League helped as well, where I basically rotated the entire squad for that - the wee striker Nketiah was outstanding in that for me as well, basically a younger Aubameyang!

  7. Wouldn't go as far as to say I'd be happy seeing Cadden go, but of all the "sellable assets", him leaving is one of the ones that would hurt the least. On his day, and usually that's when it's the teams day, he can be a massive asset, but I can only echo the consistency remarks from above.

May be wrong, but it only ever feels like he scores against lower division teams in the Betfred group stages. Being mostly played on the right, or at wing back can have something to do with that perhaps. If only he could play against Van der Weg every week ...

If an offer comes in that's higher than the development fee we'd stand to get for him if he left at contract end, £600k circa I'm sure I've read before, then I'd be inclined to say yes to that happily. Don't see it happening, but if that came from Hibs and their McGinn money then meh, wouldn't bear any ill feeling from me anyway, but I don't see him as a replacement for McGinn tbh.

  8. Thankfully it's only a years loan! If he's not costing too much then I'm sure he'd be an alright player to have around, but with who we've already got up front, I'd much rather see someone like James Scott be given a bit more of a chance, and we could've brought in the elusive pacey wide forward player that we all thought we were getting.

Meh, as always I hope he does well and am happy to be proved wrong, but I'd just have rathered we went for someone else.

  9. If it counts for much, Hearts loaned a young player, I want to say Jordan Mcghee, to Middlesborough who at the time I think were in the EPL, with an option to buy at the end I think. He was a lot younger than Cadden though and went on loan from Hearts to play in the 'Boro reserve team, and quite frankly sounds a bizare concept!

On Cadden, I'm quite happy to see him run down his contract and take that rumoured circa £600k development fee we'd be due for him. A bit unsure of him right now position wise, as imo, he's too limited and wasted, unless its against van der weg, on that right wing, and Tait is far better on the RB/RWB position. If we move him back into the middle of the pitch then we might start seeing more out of him, but right now we'll be very lucky to have an English club pay anything close to £million for him.

  10. Alejandro looks a good signing - always that little bit more intrigue when a foreign player comes in, but quietly optimistic on this one given we've had him on a training camp in January and had a good look at him.

Can't help but feel though that it leaves a very interesting array of midfielders. Perhaps a sign that Bigirimana could be on the way out, Turnbull potentially on a loan to the Championship as well? I'm in the camp of wouldn't be averse to seeing Mchugh move on,  and  to let us shift Cadden into the middle of the park as well with Campbell. Certainly can't say we don't have strength in depth on paper though - maybe one more forward needed and we'd be more or less there for summer, barring any offers for the prized assets.

They get some stuff like that wrong a fair bit but as a general indicator it’s pretty useful. If we’ve managed to get a player with that sort of scoring record in for free then it’s pretty good business and well worth a punt.

Agreed mate! Besides Jacob Blyth who apparently scored a buck tonne at a level or two below, that amount of goals at any level isn't to be sniffed at!

Aye, going by his Transfermarkt page his deal expires at the end of this month so he’s got a fortnight or something like that still to run but I’d have thought if there was any fee (nominal or otherwise) it would have been mentioned in the announcement.

Aye fair enough then if his contract is up, couldn't find anything that actually confirmed that. Will note that site down for the future,  cheers!

  13. Was watching the press conference from yesterday just there and it struck me just how grey the manager looks, compared to how I thought he looked at first as Barraclough's assistant. Did a quick look back and the difference in only a couple of years is quite clear and amusing!

Taken from Robinson's first press conference. Would still be able to get into Bamboo on a Wednesday night!

The press conference after McGhee was sacked. Quite a difference - the stresses of Oldham and assembling a squad on such short notice visible!

Yesterdays presser. Quite the transformation in a short space of time!

Don't think it's a secret just how much the man puts into the job, between the coaching and the long miles to scout players, as well as opposition.

Ciftci's the one who's really blown my mind in that respect. McCall would have taken him and said at a club Q&A he'd love to have him at the club, McGhee tried to sign him last year, we tried to sign him last summer and Robinson's eventually got him now. We seem to have been interested in getting him to Fir Park for years.

Even Lasley's in the press talking him up today (which isn't a surprise):

Barraclough as well said he was the one player he'd love at the club. I remember that from a pre season video - I'm sure with enough digging the video can be found.
