Well having slept on it I had hoped to wake up this morning feeling slightly better, at least able to take some positives from the season so far. However, I can’t. Absolutely none of Stubbs signings are good enough. Coulson - too small, not enough fight, can’t defend. Willock - did we not get him from Man Utd? He should have absolutely ran the show yesterday. A 22 year old still on the books of them must have something about him surely? Certainly hasn’t shown it with us - largely anonymous. Cole - holy f**k. As I posted elsewhere - he might be the worst player I’ve ever seen. Can’t head, can’t pass, no positional sense. Just absolutely fuckin hopeless. Brock Madsen - he must have touched the ball about three times in the first half. Looking at him you think his strength must be in the air - it isn’t. Don’t know where it is. Heaton- obv out injured but the game I watched him in against spartans didn’t fill me with hope. Cooke - another tall guy who seems to get smaller when he jumps. My son said after the game yesterday that he doesn’t want to go to the Celtic game now. Can’t say I blame him. I’ve been defending Stubbs on here up til now. Felt he wasn’t being given a chance. But after yesterday I wouldn’t be too upset if he goes (I know he won’t). Yesterday felt like a throwback to Craig / Rae. Last season already feels like a lifetime ago. And I really can’t see it getting better.

We seem to be drifting back towards a lot of negativity towards Stubbs. Which I really don’t understand. I’m not sure what a lot of our support are expecting - despite the money for mcginn we still aren’t well off and can’t be splashing out cash right, left and centre. Most of our signings will be, to some extent, a gamble. Not sure if anyone watched the hearts - Celtic game on Saturday but hearts had a guy playing in their midfield who was previously playing in the Austrian second division. Can’t mind his name but he was outstanding - man of the match. The gems are out there but I think you need a certain amount of luck to find them. Now Stubbs is being criticised for not signing Liam smith - don’t get me wrong he was very good for us in the championship but he is very young and maybe not what we are looking for right now. Let’s just get behind AS and see how it goes. All the criticism and negativity aren’t helping anyone. 3 points against Livvy and we have made a very good start to the season.

I assume McCann has told your keeper to always play it to either full back? Was apparent very early that was the case and we started closing them both down when they went back to receive it. Fair enough trying to play football from the back but sometimes it just needs to be booted down the park.

Hopefully some more new arrivals however if not let's get rid of all the negativity and get right behind the manager and the team. Getting booed of the pitch before the league season has even started is bang out of order. Does absolutely no-one any good. Last season was the most enjoyable I've had since 2000 and this was partly due to the fantastic atmosphere generated by the fans and the close bond between them and the team.
