We don't really have another way of playing. We have a fairly small team full of technically good players who work hard but can lack physicality and have very little quality out wide, so playing the way that's been successful recently was a better option than trying something completely new in such a big game. It was always going to be a tough ask though.

As you say, Morton will be a very different proposition. They can play some decent stuff too but will be much more aggressive and direct than Airdrie.

You're no kidding about them being small, i was expecting Willy Wonka to be in the dugout

  2. Thought we played well though ww did look unusually vulnerable defensively.  Nowt bringing big Frankie back won't sort.  Lots of good performancrs but Nieuwenhof was outstanding

Airdrie play some neat stuff but it was a bit naive trying to outplay us.  I expect Morton will be a lot more direct and physical so probably more of a battle there.  We should still beat them right enough.

  3. Can't really ask for a much better draw than that.  Croatia have a habit of bouncing back when they look on the way down but they were really poor in qualifying and they've surely got a transitional phase coming up.

Portugal have some brilliant players, but they are quite flaky at times so you might catch them on an off night.

Will be gutted if we finish below Poland, they looked dire in qualifying

Hibs will be smelling blood given our form and I don't blame them. I'd like to see Kühn start, because Abada's general wing play has never impressed me. Not sure if Rodgers will drop Kyogo for Idah but I'd like to see the latter involved too. My main concern is Bernabei being allowed another opportunity to impersonate a footballer.

Celtic's form is 6 wins and a draw in the last 7.

Hibs have beat Forfar and Livvy since you last pumped them.

    I don't think it's blood they'll be smelling

Was meaning on Twitter and that, which is why i mentioned them.

Seems like anytime Hearts go on a good run some pop up and act as if youre miles ahead of the rest of the league and should simply steamroller everyone. Then a loss comes, everyones shit and the manager should be sacked, and then they vanish.

    Tbf that is pretty accurate

Some Hearts fans get really weird when they're winning games.

The inevitability of us winning 2-1 and Twitter etc., being filled with Hearts fans telling us we're one of the worst sides in the league, and that we should we play more like Dundee, is fun.

As far as i can see this thread is mainly St Johnstone fans giddy on beating Ross County predicting they'll win.

We should win, we might lose.  Pretty much the same as most weeks in this league

Against the whole theme of the season up until now, I'm going into this one pretty confident of Saints coming away with at least a point. Compared to where we were, we look much more solid and for the first time in a long time, feels like we actually have options going forward, both in terms of personnel and formation.

Saints will likely start with one up top, probably Benji and get balls fired in behind the defence and let him run onto them and when he tires, bring Sidibeh on and let him do the same. Unless we go behind and Levein fires both on.

Odds on Shankland will score, so going for a 3-2 to Saints with Zander cocking up a standard cross to gift Saints a free header.

Hearts really seem to be clicking as a squad now and good for them for sticking with Naismith, starting to get the benefits now. Can't see anyone getting close to them in the table now, so in a little league of their own now for 3rd spot.

When was the last time St Johnstone scored 3 times in a game?

  8. His track record has some very good things on it bit he's far from being someone who's been good everywhere.  Leeds and Boro in particular were both dreadful spells for him and he's always thrived on being the underdog,wl which as much as i don't like Aberdeen, will rarely be the case for him in his remaining fixtures.  He can't really sit in and try to hit on the break at home to Ross County.

Should be a laugh, though he's a massive tory so hopefully it's a disaster

  9. As ever with the handball calls these days, giving a penalty can be argued either way under the current laws.  To me there needs to be much more emphasis on a penalty only getting given when it's a clear, deliberate action which I don't think that is at all.  Very harsh and we've all been on the end of these things where the punushment very much outweighs the crime.

It wasn't as bad as the one Collum gave yesterday right enough
