  1. To give a more serious answer it is too early for McCabe to make that kind of step up but I do think he has a lot of potential and if he gets us mid table safety and a decent start to next season would expect him to move up at somepoint. Think Murray would be a good shout, did well with us and now Raith.
  2. Much to early, dreadful manager with no potential or ability, would avoid.
  3. Feels like an important win on Saturday to get things back on track, the manager has shown both this season and last that he can pick things back up after a dip in form, and can change things without panicking, 4 points this quarter so need to pick up a bit more but having played DUFC and Raith already we should pick up some more/
  4. Some of the numbers in this story are mental Ethiopia PM Abiy Ahmed eyes Red Sea port, inflaming tensions - BBC News "The Ethiopian army lost, by its own calculation, between 260,000 and 520,000 soldiers killed or missing in action"
  5. From what ive seen I can see it being Airdrie, Morton and QP in that mini league, think Arbroath will have enough to remain out of it and Inverness with the new manager bounce.
  6. Could go either way (as with all games this season) but think we need a win to get back on track and keep in the mid table section. There doesn't seem to be an obvious relegation candidate this season so we can't afford to sink to the bottom, would still be happy with 8th at the end of the season.
  7. See hospitality is sold out against Arbroath on Saturday, good effort by the commercial team, shows the difference being in the championship makes
  8. Thanks for nothing @BFTDnow I also have that mental image
  9. I'm the same ammount of worried as I was at the first game of the season, said then I would be delighted with 8th and still would be. We've done better than I thought and certainly wont be adrift but keeping essentialy the same team that failed to win League One last season was always going to be risky. Think we've seen thith Frizz to an extent and certainly with Gabby that it is a hard step up for some. Think we could have done with even 1-2 more players of proven quality, as seen in the last two games. I still think on balance we'll stay up but will be a battle every game and hard to pinpoint two teams we'll finish above.
  10. Surely Gal knows the way the team plays even if he missed training yesterday? Would always want him in the squad at least, hard to see where we get a goal without him at the moment
  11. Good to see things getting shaken up a bit (although might not be saying that if it turns out be another Arbroath style debacle)
  12. Big game for both teams, an AIrdrie win gets us going again after a bit of a downturn, Inverness win puts them closer to the pack above and continues the new manaer bounce, head says a draw would be fine for us but with some tough fixtures coming up would be great to get the win. Any news on Ballantyne being back?
  13. This thread needs to be renamed "the red diamond" or it cant be the official match thread
  14. Subbuteo was great, loved playign it as a kid, took me ages to paint red diamonds onto Leeds though to get an Airdrie team though. Built terracing out of lego and who knew you could get subbuteo casuals. Also provided the basis for lyrics of a half man half biscuit song.
  15. But those seats would go to another party therefore puting them in a minority by 14 seats? Not that it makes much difference to what your saying...
  16. If Labour are the largest party would they not just go into coalition with the lib dems? And the SNP would not support the torries?
  17. I hope that's "the red diamond" in Russian, also hope all our match day threads are now titled The Red DIamond
  18. You saw plenty of Falkirk in League one over the years so I find that hard to believe
  19. Reminds me of the days of the "broomfield ultras", we had a flag and everything! Any news of Ballantyne ahead of the game on Friday?
  20. I would give McStravick a run and put Gabby on the bench, a few good games as a sub could hep him get his confidence back up
  21. Agree with most of what's been said already, thought Hancock looked good, Megwa was pretty poor although got better, McStravick looked possitive. Really hope Ballantyne is back soon though as Megwa isnt the answer I dont think. Poor performance but still happy with the start overall, especially if we can get something from next Friday. The team clearly have a lot of credit in the bank with the fans as a display like that in the past and the passing around the back would have been torn apart by fans in previous seasons.
  22. That was the kind of win I wasn't sure we were capable of, credit again to Rhys who has learned a lot in just over a season. I'm sure as injuries, suspensions etc hit we will hit a bad patch later in the season but if we can get 3 or 4 points from the next two games we will have a better first quarter than most people would have expected.
  23. That would be very impressive, there is no doubt that this is the most positivity there has been around the club for many years so great that crowds are responding accordingly, especially if the increase can be attributed to home support rather than more away fans
