  1. GET IT CHANGED MAAAHHKINNAAAN Nah, I can work with that.
  2. No one is 100% behind us, for any manager we're a gig, one link a chain of jobs hopefully leading to success and financial security. No one takes a job with us because they are so enthusiastic about the club or the locals.
  3. To be fair, no one actually wants to come to Raith. we are and always will be, a stepping stone for folk.
  4. .... and then, when he goes to St Mirren, our second choice will be moaned about for not being McKinnon.
  5. That seemed inevitable from the get go, the leagues were hardly awash with fantastic out of work managers happy to work for the money we (probably) are offering. As you say, one or two of the more established names may have lowered themselves but the attraction of the Midden job will have taken them out of the running.
  6. Even when the ball was into feet he sometimes held it up to long, or tried to beat that extra man when there were guys racing into support. Having said that, some of his finishing was sublime - that volley pre season against St Johnstone and the little roll past the keeper against Dumbarton, first game of the season...... But yeah, Vaughan in that number ten role opens up a lot of space in front of Stewart, who's decent at playing off the shoulder of the last defender.
  7. No way that's true but to be fair, they could have saved themselves time and looked at the East Fife forum first
  8. Probably barking up the wrong tree myself but the guy mentioning Mckinnon rings true for me, if not him then at least someone Malpas knows well and can work with. Definitely feel he'll be more involved in the coaching side of things this time round.
  9. Usually it was desperation. I liked Nade, he's technically good and his goals - the few of them he scored - were all important ones (1 vs Cowden, the 2 in 2 vs Hibs, the winner vs Rangers....). He didn't really play well with others though and I thought he slowed down the attack a lot of times. If given only the option of keeping one of the two I'd rather have Mark Stewart (not something I thought I'd be saying pre-season)
  10. https://twitter.com/mattelder_ffp/status/600678393257000960 "Just back from San Starko. Club staying tight-lipped. Could be wrong, but impression I get is that the ball is now in someone else's court."

  12. Possibly the concern is that even if he doesn't get it, the fact that he apparently made it from 100+ candidates to at least the final 6 calls into question either the sanity of the board, the general competence of pretty much every out of work manager or both.
  13. Murray was an unknown, Naysmith isn't - he's had two years at it, two divisions lower and with no success.
  14. Just because he failed to save them, then rebuilt his squad, and then failed to get them up. Given his utter lack of coaching credentials beyond his time at EF, that's all we have to judge him on, and it's not even a mediocre record either.
  15. it would stretch even my happy clapping capacities to find even a glimmer of hope in that appointment.
  16. Guy on fantalk reckons it's Naysmith. Which, if true will be darkly hilarious.
  17. If his was the only part time team in a league of full timers, that critque might be legitimate, but the teams who finished above EF in league 2 are all part time, and their managers seemed able to coax success out fo their players just fine.
  18. Means nothing, really. His managerial career achievements to date include failing to save East Fife from the drop and failing to get East Fife promoted. Not exactly a step up on Murray.
  19. I actually think Callachan is a pretty decent attacking midfielder, gets forward, moves beyond the striker when he can, keeps the ball moving - that's as creative as you can probably hope for. Wouldn't have Davo back, we need a sitting midfielder to complement Callachan, someone who has decent positional sense and is good at reading the game.
