  1. So the majority have now decided in 6 weeks that they'd vote Yes. If only that pesky referendum would be permitted next Tuesday
  2. Are you still dropping tears on your keyboard and trying to influence people to change their minds? Ah now I know how those No to Yes conversion anecdotes really panned out
  3. 2 months later? Of course there'll be fervour for 2 years for independence but once the fact that there won't be a referendum for years sets in and the students get jobs, people get disillusioned by Nicola, it'll die out. People are no longer patient. In days gone by they were but now they get fed up quickly
  4. I read HB's posts and then read through the clusterf**k posts from Yes voters. I find it an hilarious activity which I recommend. Some people are so unaware which is funny but combined with misplaced arrogance it feels right to laugh at them
  5. Oculus - genuinely scary and gripping psychological horror film about a malevolent mirror. The film opens with a young man being released from a State mental institution after committing an act of violence. His sister (Karen Gillan with an authentic American accent) comes to pick him up and reveals her plans to destroy the mirror which was responsible for their situation. The film then continues with two parallel timelines one of which reveals what happened 11 years previously and other in the present when the girl reveals a meticulous plan to destroy the mirror. It's well written, well acted and really creepy. 8/10
  6. This thread is sounding like all the threads coming up to Sept 18..."weer gonnae pyoor win this by 20 points". The only difference is there isn't any referendum....sorry, I meant...... there won't be another referendum
  7. http://www.scotsman.com/video/News/edinburgh-drinkers-react-to-indyref-vote-3793950726001#scottish-independence 1:15 and 2:03 - "where is everybody? what's happened?"
  8. Like most of the paranoid Yessers' posts on here, I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
  9. You never shut your trap about the Middle East and you know nothing about it aside from some leftie websites or biased news reports. Maybe you should educate yourself a bit more?
  10. Yep and practically every scene like where she goes into the police station. It's the best horror film imo since "The Exorcist" Back on topic, I recommend you avoid Horns. A pseudo dark thriller which is actually a predictable fantasy horror with Harry Potter 3/10. I thought it was sh**e but of course all the English film critics just luuurve Daniel
  11. A referendum is up to the UK government to decide.... "What are you going to do? Invade...."
  12. Don't know about Gall but I doubt your view Dave. For a start I'm about 15-20 years younger than the Bob (Murray) character and Johannsen didn't do it for me in the physical sense. I think it was the combination of the view of Tokyo perfectly captured as being a vast Metropolis and the soulful meeting of two people who find that they're intellectually and emotionally connected. It wasn't a father figure, it wasn't anything sexual. It was more than that. Again though words don't capture what I loved about it. The soundtrack was fantastic although the lap dancing scene and it's choice of song was meant to capture how distasteful it was but if you enjoyed that part of the film, that's your prerogative
  13. It looks beautiful and it's a film about reflecting on life and relating to people in a genuine way against a backdrop of alienation and superficiality. I think though that while that's accurate, it's just critical garbage-speil It's a film that transcends words and leaves you feeling stronger for having seen it
  14. Lost in translation - I've watched this about 30 times now and there's always a new aspect that appeals to me. It really is a perfect fim 10/10
  15. Snowpiercer - Decent idea spoiled a bit by preachy allegories. However, it was saved by good performances and decent twists. Chris Evans, John Hurt and Ed Harris are all excellent 6/10
