What sort of striker is Bavidge? Target man? Poacher? Ball-player? -

Would still get a decent development fee, and considering how patchy his form has been i can't imagine anyone paying millions for him -
Aberdeen v Ross County (Sat, 30th March)

His best games were as a part of the back-3 as a more mobile defender alongside Ruby. Just doesn't seem to fit a back 4 as neither imposingly strong or helpful with the ball at his feet. -

Agree the dons fans have a chip on their shoulder. I'd have us just behind the ugly sisters and the jambos for arrogance. When we are on an upswing of form we probably overtake the jambos, and when we are on a downswing like just now we are still arrogant but it mostly comes out as anger instead. -

Did anyone say this apart from Warnock though? -

Cubs lost another by 1-run last night as well, thankfully no Suzuki error but Hoerner threw away a double-play ball which led to a run. Cubs had a lead in the 8th, 9th and 10th innings and still lost. the vibe has fallen out of the Cubs charge to the wildcard.

I think he was suggesting Wigan wanted too much money rather than McGrath himself? -
QOTSA were on the same time as Elton and smashed it. Well worth a watch if it passed you by last night

Incredible test match and lovely to think of the 4 tests still to come. England got to be a bit worried after losing on a bazball designed flat track and in a game where Smith and Labuschagne provided nothing.

How much will he get paid in the offseason? £400/500 million? Case to be made that he is worth even more

Haven’t tried the bridge yet but it’s on my long list to get to. favourite culture novel? Use of weapons and excession I enjoyed a lot, but still got a few to get to
-
Inversions - Iain M. Banks - Banks and the Culture books always excellent. Very little Culture in this one though.

Cubs looking a bit more respectable so far this year. Not sure there are any powerhouse teams in the NLC this year (particularly if the Brewers aces have a few injury niggles), so could be playing meaningful games for a bit longer

How about a Sami run-in during the main event to cost Roman the title?

Introduce US style playoffs at the end of the season. Team that wins the league season gets the champions league spot and associated monies, but the team that wins the playoffs are the champs for the record books. Lots of ways to do it, but just make the top-6 a split to get into the playoffs and go from there. Clearly a flawed idea in a few obvious ways, but would either result in a non-old firm team getting a knockout game chance to win a title, or you get an old-firm league decider every year which should bring in a fair bit of cash. I used to hate this idea, but what do we really have to lose by trying something like it now?

Goodwin's last team vs Goodwin's last but one team

His best form at Motherwell (when he got into the Scotland squad) was before his last year with them where things turned a bit sour. He was then poor for us and likely wasn't helped by tactics making him pass the ball a bit more and we gave up on him (possibly too quickly). Recurring problem for the Dons is the number of players we can't get everything out of - lots of average premiership players seem shite when playing for us and more than good enough when they go elsewhere. -

We had subs lined up before we equalised and then they sat back down. I guess he thought wait and see if we get an immediate boost from the pen. In all fairness Main's second goal was a peach, so fresh legs further up the pitch likely makes little difference in stopping that one. -
Use of Weapons - Iain M. Banks Have read a bunch of the Culture novels, but somehow had never read this one despite it being a lot of folk's favourite. Once i got my head around the structure side of things i thought it was superb

excellent match. Probably the best wrestling match they can put on in the women's division at the moment? Feel like Hayter should split away from Baker now and just let her be the fighting champ against all comers.
-
Quite happy to see the Cubs add Swanson as they have lots of money to spend. Swanson likely not going to be a superstar, but a decent bet to remain an above average player for the duration with such good defensive skills

Seems like a possibility the Giants just got cold feet on such a big deal? Read an article suggesting the medical issue was actually from something before Correa ever played in MLB? that Mets payroll is going to be hilarious though - showing up all the other owners as cheap (and a few as outright thieves robbing their teams blind)

We have one game against Celtic between now and January when the window opens again. Even the league cup semis/final aren't until the new year, and the one game we do have isn't until after the world cup so i'd hope that Milne would have been established as an option by that point.
