It isn’t growing quickly enough. I really don’t know how many times that has to be said.
I don’t know why, probably numerous reasons from finance to not believing in the model to don’t care enough to shares not being in a fans name.
    Frustrating, very frustrating

It isn't growing quickly enough for what?

Worth taking a step back and remembering that providing a source of income is a consequence and not the cause of FSS.

Club will also face the VAT conundrum too as it’s a donation scheme they intend to run. If it incurred VAT then could nullify the need for this scheme as would result in a 20% deduction from any contributions via it instead of through FSS. If FSS share benefits that are deemed eligible for VAT then worry could be that it affects FSS contributions too.

    Just a minefield.

  3. I'm assuming Falkirk Forever is some sort of reaction to the feedback that FSS is unable to provide tangible 'benefits' due to VAT concerns. Falkirk Forever would (I'm guessing) mirror Aberdeen's offering of AberDNA - a monthly donation in return for club shop discount etc etc.

I sort of get that idea in principle but it feels like a simpler and less 'FSS intrusive' model would be to create this package of benefits and for the club to offer them to FSS members.

There's a risk here of inadvertently diverting potential FSS subscribers to favouring this model.

  4. The podcast that both Shaughan McGuigan and Craig Telfer did around the Darvel game was actually very complimentary. Not just in the performance (which they obviously had to do otherwise they'd look thick as mince) but also around how we as a club approached the game.

Doesnt stop them being Raith and Stenny c***s mind but that's all the pantomime of football.

Nah I'm not having this take either.

Being up there and linking play well but not scoring or even really getting on the end of any chances (as was the case when he first came in as the lone striker) is not good enough. The difference over the last few weeks, admittedly probably because he was given the time by McGlynn, is that he has started to find these chances and continues to link play well. He has become that 'complete' striker that we need.

  6. You can probably fit our most inform players into McGlynn's preferred formation now.

    Kinnear likely starts against Darvel.

Rowe and McCann at full back.

Any 2 of Donaldson, McKay and Mackie.

    McGinn and Henderson double pivot.

    Oliver as the 10.

Morrison and Kennedy wide in a front 3.

Burrell central but with an argument for either Allan or Wright to start too.

Putting tickets on sale at 10am on a weekdays is an absolute nightmare. Surely an evening outwith traditional working hours gives the vast majority of fans a chance to get there and have a shot at getting a ticket?

Open until 7 on the first day of sales and can be purchased over the phone. I'd be surprised is there is 900 folk down at 10am on a Thursday.

Personally I think the FSS model is all wrong, why would I sign up to pay £10 a month when I get nothing in return?

This has been scoffed at a bit and initially I did the same because a collective Falkirk Supporters Society just makes complete sense to me. However, see when I've been trying to convince folk to sign up this exact argument that comes back just about everytime. The idea of of a collective voice, a union and being part of something bigger than ourselves just doesn't appeal to everyone. It's a shame, a bit embarrassing I think, but this is probably one of the biggest barriers for FSS to address - what can we give back?

Not convinced that changing the structure of FSS to allow members to hold the shares in their own name is the right way to go. Anyone can do that as an individual anyway. Seems @Van_damage is suggesting that benefits would subject donations to VAT charges, be interesting to hear a bit more about this. I'm assuming it refers things like free gifts, club shop discount etc. If FSS was to offer membership only events (like the McGlynn Q&A) is this considered a benefit? The FSS prize draw doesn't impact on VAT charges? May be some work around here.

Apart from the small matter that away fans were moved back to the North stand because they couldn't be segregated.

Won't this just re-introduce the same issue albeit in the North stand?

I'm pretty sure the North Stand can effectively be split in two with both halves having toilets and a kiosk.

Based on what? His hold up play is decent, he runs in behind, his touch is very good and brings others into play? Obviously he doesn’t score enough but when he helps bring Morrison, Nesbitt and Kennedy into play that shouldn’t be a worry.

Did all those things very well. Exactly what I'm looking for in a second striker.
