  1. Thorn Athletic and Finnart have resigned from the league. Unable to field teams this season.
  2. Peterson Park...semi pro? Lol. Good grief.
  3. They are taking a year out and rejoining the Caley 1st Division next year. They have obviously been left with no players and not enough time to get the team up and running for the new season.
  4. It has been communicated to all clubs in the league.
  5. Stenhousemuir resigned from the league (rumours about management and players going to Steins must be true).
  6. Houston are organising preseason games on Twitter and no mention of them transitioning over to Thorn. Strange one.
  7. They should all be under the one umbrella with the leagues regionalised and then teams would find their natural level. Too many egos to make it happen though.
  8. Good grief. What a shambles. The Premier League could be in turmoil. Potentially Milngavie and Dalziel staying up? Or promote another two from The First?
  9. Thorn Athletic confirmed as being accepted into the WOSFL. Not sure what the implications are (if any) for the Caley League here as the last I heard, Thorn didn't have an amateur team sorted for next season yet (current Caley team stepping up to WOSFL).
  10. Huntershill is a council owned facility is it not? I did mention already they are very well run at youth level etc with plenty of teams, a bit like Drumchapel United I guess but we've seen all the issues Drumchapel have encountered already in the WOSFL with many teams complaining about the Donald Dewar Centre not being fit for purpose.
  11. They are a well run club and certainly established in youth and amateur football but I see where you are coming from also. Teams need to understand their level. Where's the funding coming from to build a suitable ground to meet the semi professional requirements?
  12. West Park Utd saying on Twitter they have been accepted into the WOSFL.
  13. Definitely. What league these new clubs will be playing in is going to impact on their recruitment of players and the longer it goes on, they could end up missing out on players etc due to the uncertainty.
  14. Doesn't really give the new teams much time to prepare! Many will be back to preseason or certainly close to starting preseason by then.
  15. So all 7 have been accepted? Just to be ratified at the AGM?
  16. Harp and Mungo is a local Bishopbriggs rivarly. Mungo were pretty happy stopping Harp winning the league if their social media activity is anything to go by (pretty classless imo).
  17. Quite a few decent clubs have moved over to the newly named Strathclyde Morning League. Looks like a strong pool of teams they have for the upcoming season.
  18. What's going on here? Seems a shambles all around.
  19. Any talk of new clubs joining the league for next season? Noticed on Twitter the top two sides from the SAFL Premier (Inverclyde & Castlemilk) are joining The Central.
  20. I get your point but don't glasgow uni have about 6 teams? They have a larger pool from which to draw players than anyone (other than Strathclyde and Stirling unis), comparing a local community club like Thorn with them is an unfair one. However Thorn would definitely be a loss if they left the caley as they've been excellent since joining. Perhaps Thorn will try and get a local youth side, maybe Johnstone Burgh 21s to step up and be Thorn's new amateur team?
  21. What amateur team? They don't have two teams at the moment. I would expect their Caley team to all move up to the WOSFL leaving them with zero players for the Caley Team. If they tried to get an average amateur team or 21s to step into the Caley Premier they would get humped every week and I'm not sure what the Caley League themselves would think of that either? It would seem to make more sense to just not have an amateur team at all and after their 20s you jump to the WOSFL Team.
  22. Thorn will do very well in the lower leagues if they get in. A far stronger team than Finnart who won the 4th Division this season.
