Been a few changes of position trialist now playing more as a winger, Cieran Dunne now at left back, Harris left mid and young lad Jarvis pushed into centre mid.

No, smallish lad playing right wing back.

Doesn't look too awful, but how about sending Paton to the retirement home for angry and worn out old footballers take a wee punt with Russell in midfield and Greenwood on the right?

Very harsh.

Entertaining first half but any semblance of a functioning formation dissappeared with the injuries. Positives were Mutch, Robson (easily our best player, the earlier poster claiming he was ropey couldn't be more wrong), Russell looks to be a decent signing strong and comfortable on the ball and Froxy has the makings of a good number 10 if used properly. Big negative was how slow our back line looked against nippy youngsters. Just about deserved the win but still a long way from where we need to be.

Thinking about going tomorrow night though expect it to be like watching a car crash.

Two big problems as far as I can see. Firstly we were unable to attract the players that had been targeted leaving us with a pretty mixed bag of second, third or even fourth choice signings (also failed to keep Sibbald and Longridge). Pay peanuts get monkeys. Secondly the Manager is not getting the most out of the players available to him, his player selections and formations are are strange to the point of perverse. We probably do have enough about us to still mount a challenge but only if Hartley gets his head out of his backside quick style and makes the most of the squad he has.

Is your point that the Manager is making a horses arse of his starting eleven every game?
