Gets to a deeper point then which is the management of our budget. I’m not sure we can afford to have a backup for every position. Hence having utility types like McCrorie and Hayes who can cover a few positions.

The guy was cutting in long before the overlap was there. At no point does the overlap cause any confusion. It's clear as day on the highlights.
Hayes is all over the place when he's at left back/wing back but defends brilliantly when played further forward. Should never have been signed to play left back.
To be fair, he’s been playing as a utility man under Glass. Jack Mackenzie was left back until Considine went off. The bigger concern is NO backup CB rather than Hayes being emergency left back.0 -

He set up the goal didn't he? Was a really nice touch, probably just as good as the finish.
Not that I'm arguing against the general point of him needing to do better. So far this looks like one season too many for Mcginn but I can see why they probably thought he was worth keeping on short term.

Some of the business is shit, some good. Such is the way of being an average team. To purely focus on the negatives, the decision to sign Gurr, re-sign McGinn and re-sign Devlin aren’t looking great. McGinn really has to step up in games like yesterday and I don’t recall even seeing him.

I was cursing McCrorie for the second goal in real time but presumably it was Gurr who decided to not attack the ball? That’s absolute basics. Forgivable if he was 18, but he’s mid 20s and just looks inexperienced. We shouldn’t be accepting that. It’s an atrocious signing tbh.
