I suppose another way of looking at the Carson thing is he's 35 and will need replacing at some point. If there is a team offering us decent money to do that now instead of a year or two's time maybe they think it's worth doing?

35 is still young for a keeper.

We will be in big trouble if Carson goes and we go with Hemming as number 1.

He's a good keeper, a very good keeper.

As good as Hladky and Alnwick? I wouldn't say so. They are top 2 in last 30 years at the club for me and we've been lucky to have more good keepers than bad ones down the years.

I would disagree with that mate and say Carson is better than both Hladky and Alnwick.

All 3 are excellent keepers though and we’ve been lucky in the goalkeeping department so we are due a howler and hemming fits the bill.

Totally agree. I think he’s good. I’d rather he stayed than us taking a chance on a replacement.

I’m sure Dunne could also played in the centre

Up until the Celtic game I would have said Dunne was a 7/8 out of 10 most weeks and I was desperate for him to sign a new deal then, he tallied off a bit but if he carried on his best form we would of had no chance of keeping him.

    Delighted with this.

IIRC Gordon Scott's original plan was to take control of our club until the supporters raised the money (within an agreed timescale) to achieve 100% fan-ownership. So how come we now have Kibble owning a significant share of the ownership and they seem to be pulling the strings ? The original deal between GS and SMiSA should have gone ahead on the agreed timetable and Kibble should have been told to GTF.

You really think we would be better off had we not had kibble on board? Oh dear 😅

You think the idea of getting Lasley on board came from smisa and that testicle Alan wardrup? 😂

    Come on to f**k 😂

Where were we then and where are we now?

I'd think of Gordon as a mate, but purely on the basis that I've been to the pub with him a few times.

He's a good guy and will be a loss to the board IMO.

I spoke to him at the POTY on Sunday night, and he told me then that he had put in his resignation.

Nothing sinister in it, he's just decided that it's a good time in his life to take a step back.

No great Kibble conspiracy I'm afraid, all quite boring!

You think of him as a mate? 🤣

Did you tell him you’re still sniffing Gilmours arse?

Gordon Scott will be a massive loss, turned the club around when we were a rudderless ship under Gilmour and ploughed in some of his own money to get us back to the top flight.

Took no shit and pulled the trigger early to get rid of the likes of Rae and Stubbs.

It’s just a pity he never got control of the club sooner when he tried, believe he tried a number of times but Gilmour couldn’t accept because the jealousy was ripping out him.

You seem to have some sort of agenda.  And not for the first time; you came away with all sorts of wild claims and counterclaims when SG was trying to get on the SMISA board.  I might be wrong but you seem to just believe absolutely everything you read both online and in the press, as long as it’s against the current board.

Are you a personal friend of either SG or AW?  Or do you have some kind of axe to grind with someone at St Mirren?

Gullible. The debt he got told we were in sent shivers down his spine or something along those lines.

Surprised with your view Vince but we all have options. To ban a former director who has done a lot of good work will not end well in the boardroom . You don't go about throwing bans to die hards because you have thrown the dummy out. It's time for SMISA directors on the board stood down it's unacceptable to throw a ban around.

    Wardrup? Me me me

    Buddies make five-figure bid

St Mirren have made a bid for Morecambe’s Jacob Bedeau.

The Buddies have tabled a five figure offer for the 23-year-old. Record Sport had previously confirmed Stephen Robinson’s interest in landing his former defender.

Robinson took Bedeau from Burnley in 2022. He knows there is likely to be strong interest and is keen to close a quick deal, if he can.

Robinson is now hoping his ex-club will do business after their relegation to England’s League Two. Shrimps boss Derek Adams would be keen to keep Bedeau but has been working with one of the smallest budgets in the Football League.

Adams confirmed recently that he doesn't even know what his budget will be for next season. St Mirren are hoping they can still grab a late European push and that would be an added incentive to lure Bedeau north.

The Englishman has had senior spells at Aston Villa, Burnley and Bury. St Mirren are also keen on Fulham striker Keiron Bowie and are also looking at Larne midfielder Fuad Sule.

Bedeau is a player, will be delighted if we get him.
